### 3/5 — Was good until it wasn’t.

*2026-05-16, version 2.0.3*

Worked well for a couple years. Then just stopped. Said it was asleep to shake to wake up. I did nothing happens. Changed battery, nothing happens. Just doesn’t work. Sucks cause I liked it. I’ll look for a different one now though guess.

### 4/5 — Very good BUT…..

*2023-04-13, version 2.0.2*

Very good device. It is accurate BUT you must calibrate the sensor before you use it. Get the Boveda calibration kit and place the unit in for 24 hours. When it calibrates to the proper humidity lever then place it in your humidor. Also it is Bluetooth only so you have to be in range to see the readings. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 only because of lack of Wi-Fi.

### 4/5 — 2 point calibration not available anymore?

*2022-01-12, version 1.5.5*

Hi, I’ve been using bovedas and boveda butler for quite some time now. Today, I wanted to calibrate my butler using two points calibration. When I chose the calibrate option in the app, it does not allow me two choose 2 point calibration anymore. I can just click on 1 point 75% calibration. Is it some kind of bug? I tought that two point calibration was much better accuracy-wise. I use the butler with 69% bovedas in my cigar humidor.

### 2/5 — UI is so slow at startup.

*2021-08-28, version 1.5.5*

I hate the newer UI. I preferred the old one with the dials. It looked nicer.

Even worse, the app is so slow to start up. I have 5 sensors connected and I try to check them once a week. When I launch the app, more than a full minute will pass before the UI is responsive at all—and sometimes it is much longer than that. It is the app I use the most that I dread using because it is so annoying.

### 4/5 — Bóveda Butler

*2021-07-13, version 1.5.5*

Cigar life just got easier. Get yourself a butler.

### 3/5 — Push notifications

*2021-04-29, version 1.5.2*

Great app except I never get push notifications unless I open the app then I get tons of them fro me here I never got them. Shouldn’t I get the push notifications even with the app closed like every other app in the App Store

### 3/5 — Very confused

*2021-03-19, version 1.5.2*

Device has been working fine for the past 2 months but now it is no longer updating to my primary device. I connect it via Bluetooth to a secondary device so I can get readings whenever I’m not home. Has been working great. I woke up yesterday and checked my primary device and it no longer had any hourly updates. I deleted the app 3 times and re downloaded it. I even logged out a couple of times and it still will not update. Although readings on my secondary device are still showing (I also turned of Bluetooth on this one) it’s not where I’m needing to get readings from. I was just going to buy another but the product is discontinued so I emailed the company. I don’t think I was speaking with a human because I clearly explained what was going on and what I did in specific detail. We have gone back and forth 3 times. I’m just going to shop elsewhere because this problem isn’t efficient enough for me to keep playing cat and mouse with the company.

### 2/5 — Ugly design

*2021-03-04, version 1.5.2*

This used to be a good looking application. Now it has gone to a minimalistic and very ugly approach. Fonts are terrible, usage of space is terrible. Even App Store still shows original app’s screens. They must also like it better. False advertisement of the app. Go ahead and update it with the ugliness you came up with now. App does work but the design is just painful. What happened to the round hygrometer? Change for a sake of change.

### 4/5 — Not bad

*2021-02-25, version 1.5.2*

A bit glitchy and buggy. Can’t move the order of the sensors around if you want them in a particular order. Overall a useful app.

### 1/5 — Latest Update

*2021-02-08, version 1.5.2*

Not sure why there is “last updated 5 min ago” when this does not update at least for 1 hour

### 2/5 — Missed notifications

*2021-02-06, version 1.5.2*

Will only get notifications of high humidity when I open the app. Which can be days later. Kind of pointless if I’m not notified when it happens.

### 1/5 — Notifications don’t work.

*2021-02-02, version 1.5.2*

I use 2 of these sensors, and its a complete disappointment. It never gives me notifications until i open the app. At which point i sometimes get bombarded with notifications but they are all dated and timed at the time i opened the app. Also it takes a while pending when you last checked the app for the actual humidity and temperature is, so you'll see the numbers i flux for anywhere from 10 seconds to a few minutes. This app and device definitely needs a lot of seasoning (pun intended).

With the two sensors i have, i changed them with the same battery at the same time and there is already a big difference i battery use between the two. One is at 90% and the other 60%. Which is odd since i check them the exact same amount via the app. Another let down with Boveda “quality”

### 4/5 — Works but could be so much better with a few tweaks

*2021-01-26, version 1.5.1*

I am a huge bodeda 65 & 69% for my cigars for years now. Hygrometer are my thing to ensure my cigars are at the right RH. Boveda butler came at a good time with a nice design, affordable price and a cool app. The app can use some work; they don’t let you change the order (I have 6), I would be great if I could ready them on the order i want. Also the app keeps crashing. If I leave the app running in the back, after an hour or so, when I reopen it, it crashes. Also weird, that it doesn’t update while running in the back ground.

I am sure this will be resolved eventually. Thank you team Boveda

### 2/5 — Not as good as before

*2021-01-24, version 1.5.1*

I’ve had the Boveda butler for a few years. I now own three for my cigar humidors. That app worked with few flaws previously. Since the last update the readings are not in real time. The display has changed from the classic hygrometer dial reading to a more modern design. The biggest problem is the lack of a real time updates and seems to be inaccurate. When I open the app I want to see real time readings and o am not getting that and I did before this last updat. Please Boveda fix this and go back to the prior hygrometer style display.

### 1/5 — This is messed up!

*2024-05-22, version 2.0.2*

Opened my humidor and realized things were getting dry. Grabbed my phone to check the humidity and the app wouldn’t let me open it.

Says bad username or password. Tried to reset it but it wouldn’t ever send me a link to do so.

So now, I have a humidor and no way to monitor the humidity because I have to log into some account before it will access my Butler. And, no one responds to my request and no other way to reach out for help.

### 1/5 — Drains my iPhone’s battery

*2023-10-15, version 2.0.2*

I love the functionality of the app and the sensors but I discovered (via iPhone’s battery stats) that it was one of the top five apps consuming my battery life and the number one app doing so in the background. I thought I could resolve the issue by turning off Background App Refresh (which does impact functionality). It did help but, surprisingly, it still draws a more than insignificant amount of battery IN THE BACKGROUND despite having Background App Refresh turned off. I cannot recommend it until they resolve the battery drain issue.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t update anymore

*2023-07-28, version 2.0.2*

Tells me the sensor is reading 71% even though I know the humidity is much lower. The number won’t change.

### 1/5 — Used to be great

*2023-06-21, version 2.0.2*

Boveda app was amazing. New app is garbage!!! Last update was 15 days ago? But still says I have battery left? What a joke.

### 1/5 — Forces account creation

*2023-06-05, version 2.0.2*

Why does an app for a bluetooth device require an online account? What exactly are they doing with my information or data? They don’t need any of this.

Go with SensorPush instead, and keep your data private. There is no legitimate reason for anyone to collect your information for exclusively local bluetooth connections.

### 1/5 — Never works

*2023-03-22, version 2.0.0*

Ever since the rebranding update the app almost never works. Shows me data from 10 days ago, even when I have the sensor right next to my phone. Shows that the sensor’s battery is full strength (battery is new so that part at least should be right). Now shopping for a new sensor since it’s useless without a functioning app

### 1/5 — Good idea, crappy execution

*2023-03-09, version 2.0.0*

Worst real time app i have ever used. It can never update humidity and temp properly. I thought once CI took over that it would get better but its just as bad. You would think after all these years they would’ve improved it

### 1/5 — Update Not Just Badging

*2023-02-22, version 2.0.0*

Boveda app worked beautifully - always. New update for CI was supposed to just be badging… Made me create an account. Account says registered. Still cannot login. Because of this update I can no longer monitor my humidor. Why did you do this? Was this account crap really necessary to Bluetooth monitor my humidor?

### 1/5 — Randomly stopped notifying me

*2022-04-22, version 1.5.5*

It randomly decided to no longer send me notifications. At some point the humidifier stopped working and I had no idea as my humidity slowly collapsed. All my notifications are on including within the app and settings, they are still on and still doesn’t work. I will now have to pull all my cigars ans pray I can rehumidfy them while reseasoning the humidor since the humidity was so low for so long it dried the wood

### 1/5 — Can’t buy the butler

*2021-03-09, version 1.5.2*

Boveda doesn’t have any butlers available for purchase, making this app useless. I had to delete it.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — No Brainer To Own

*2021-03-21, version 1.5.2*

How DARE you not have this if you are a cigar connoisseur. The Butler makes life simple with maintaining humidity and temperature controls in your humidor. I love this app, it takes all the guess work out. A must have for your cigar storage needs. Cheers ~ b.

### 5/5 — Butler and app

*2021-03-17, version 1.5.2*

As stated accurate and reliable.

### 5/5 — Glad I Picked This Up

*2021-01-27, version 1.5.1*

I used an old no named digital Hygrometer I picked up online for a few bucks. Not sure how accurate it was, but my cigars got plagued by beetles. I lost quite a few prized cigars including some Cubans I had been aging. So I found the Boveda Butler, and decided to give it a try. It was simple to calibrate and set up. I’ve been using it for about a week now, and so far I’m happy with how well it’s performing. I wish the app was a little more user-friendly, but it’s not bad. I get notified when the humidor temperature is above my preset setting, as well as notifications for high or low humidity. I don’t think anyone would be disappointed with how the Boveda Butler performs and I highly recommend

### 5/5 — Does it’s job.

*2021-01-14, version 1.5.1*

Does just what is designed to do!
Simple install and works perfectly to keep you up to the minute humidity tracking. Ever y humidor needs a Boveda Butler.

### 5/5 — Home run .!

*2021-01-06, version 1.5.1*

I love having the comfort of knowing the humidity in my humidors without leaving my chair.!!!!!

### 5/5 — Great tool/app!

*2020-11-19, version 1.3.17*

I have two butlers monitoring my cigar humidors. Every time you open the lid, you lose some humidity. I love being able to check humidity from my phone therefore leaving the lids closed until I’m ready for a smoke! Very cool product, easy to use app!

### 5/5 — Great Help

*2020-11-18, version 1.3.17*

I’m so glad I purchased the Butler. It has helped me maintain and calibrate the humidity of my humidors.

### 5/5 — Works great

*2020-10-27, version 1.3.17*

Way better than the digital one I have already
