## What is Cibby?

Your collection deserves better.

Cibby is a collection app for the physical games you own, and the ones you are still hunting.
It is not a database of cover thumbnails. It is a shelf.
Add a game and Cibby shows it as the actual box, using the right kind of case for its platform, region and edition. You can pick it up, turn it over and tilt it in the light.

THE BOXES
Every platform has its own shapes, materials and little details. Cibby tries to capture those differences, from cardboard boxes and jewel cases to modern plastic cases.
The front, back and spine are rendered live, giving each game a proper place on your shelf.

GETTING YOUR COLLECTION IN
Scan a barcode, search for a game or import the collection you already keep in other collection apps or a spreadsheet.
You can also photograph a shelf and let Cibby identify the spines privately on your device! If something is missing, scan the box to help add it to the catalog.

YOUR COPY
Games often came in different packaging depending on the region, edition or time of release. Cibby treats those differences as part of the collection.
Choose the version you own and the box updates with the right artwork, shape, title and barcode. Because a German copy is a German copy, and a special edition should be called what it says on the box.

YOUR SHELF
Choose a shelf material and decide how tightly your games should be packed. Use Spines view for something closer to a real game cabinet, or give every box more room to show itself. Arrange games by hand, sort them automatically and choose what information appears on each box.
Different parts of your collection can have their own setup, so PC big boxes can sit large on walnut while Switch cases stand together on glass.

KEEP TRACK
Record what you paid, completeness, condition, play status, ratings and notes for every copy.
Cibby can also show estimated values and price history from PriceCharting.

MORE TO FIND
There is a Daily Quiz with the same questions for everyone, along with curated picks, platform spotlights and games released on this day.
You can listen to game soundtracks while browsing, with full playback for Apple Music subscribers and previews for everyone else.
There are also plenty of app icons to unlock, including a few Cibby will not tell you about.

YOUR DATA IS YOURS
Export your entire collection whenever you want. Your export includes spreadsheets, an offline webpage and your original scans at full resolution.

Cibby is free for collections of up to 9 games. Cibby Pro removes the limit and is available monthly, yearly or as a one-time purchase.

I built Cibby because I wanted a collection app that cared about the physical objects, not just the list of games.

### 1/5 — Terrible.

*2026-09-01*

It was incredible at first, but NEVER lock the main feature behind a pay wall. I will NOT pay to simply add games to my collection, I instantly uninstalled.

### 5/5 — Game collectors

*2026-09-01*

I love the current state this is in to scan and provide updates to my collection. It would be good to get a few more features like quantity, CIB or not, partial collected games. But as a start this is stellar. I think it would be awesome to add a full limit with energy to add more entries everyday or pay to have unlimited entries. Just some feedback.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.0.2 — 2026-09-01

This update is all about the scanner.

Scanning is more accurate: on iPhones with LiDAR the camera now reads the depth of the scene, so thin spines lock on instead of hunting, and the viewfinder coaches your distance when you are too close or too far.

The scan editor grew up: a magnifying loupe for placing crop corners precisely, a white point picker with live feedback, a hold to compare view against the original photo, and a preview of the corrected result.

Finishing a scan is a moment now. Your box materializes with a scanline sweep, and one tap lands you back in your collection at the new game.

Also new: sorting by value, progress or rating shows that number on every game, and the Spines shelf groups by progress. Plus a batch of fixes for search taps, big shelf imports, scan sharing and sync.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-08-24

Cibby is a bit more himself in this one.

The Cibby mark is now animated throughout the app. He looks at what you're
doing, reacts, and you can poke him.

Also in this update:
- Steelbook cases, with a proper metal finish
- Change your display name in Settings
- Swipe from the edge to go back in the Prospector
- CIB prices and hardware icons on Discover
- Creating an account with email now completes properly
- The daily quiz loads faster and animates more smoothly

### 1.0 — 2026-08-24

No release notes.
