## What is CineFlo?

CineFlo is the all-in-one film production app for indie filmmakers, directors, cinematographers, and small crews.
Plan faster, shoot smarter, and stay organized from prep to wrap — script breakdown, budgeting, shot listing, call sheets, day planning, location scouting, and on-set workflow.

Whether you're directing a short, shooting a feature, or running a lean commercial crew, CineFlo turns creative ideas into a production-ready plan.

Start Free with a Whole Production
- A free account gets one project with every feature unlocked — unlimited scenes and shots, budget, script breakdown, schedules, call sheets, scouts, diagrams, to-dos, and imports
- CineFlo Pro adds unlimited projects, collaborators, PDF export, and more storage

Break Down Your Script
- Import a screenplay (Final Draft, Fountain, or PDF) and match its scenes to your project
- Tag elements across 15 industry-standard categories — Cast, Stunts, Props, Special Effects, Wardrobe, VFX, and more
- Shared element library: rename or recategorize once and it updates everywhere
- Revision-safe re-import that carries your tags forward and tracks omitted/new scenes
- Export breakdown sheets, Day Out of Days, and print-ready Script Sides (Pro)

Budget Your Production
- Manage ATL/BTL/Post/Other accounts with 21 EP-standard defaults
- Line items with quantity × rate math and a live Top Sheet (Budgeted, Committed, Actual, Est. Final, Variance)
- Lock the budget for an approved baseline, then forecast with Estimate to Complete and Estimated Final Cost — so variance measures the projected finish, not money spent so far
- Book purchase orders and actual costs to a specific line and see what's left, line by line
- PO log with a full status workflow, actuals, and a cash flow chart
- Reusable rate cards and stacking fringe presets (FICA, SAG, DGA, IATSE, and more)
- Read the whole budget on a phone, or build it on a tablet
- Export a full PDF cost report in EP Budgeting format (Pro)

Plan Every Shot with Precision
- Build detailed shot lists by project, scene, and setup
- Track shot status (planned, in progress, completed, retake)
- Add camera notes, lenses, movement, mood, blocking, and director notes
- Swipe between shots without leaving the scene

Run Production from One Place
- Create and manage call sheets with cast, crew, schedule, and scene info
- Email personalized call sheets and track "X of Y confirmed" delivery live
- Schedule with a professional stripboard and calendar, using industry-standard strip colors
- Save Filming Locations with address, linked scenes, and scouts — and autofill call sheet locations
- Scout locations with media, notes, and a golden-hour forecast
- Keep shared files, references, and production docs attached to projects

Collaborate Your Way (Pro)
- Share projects with your team and set each collaborator's access per tab — View, Edit, or Hidden
- Editors can invite others by link or by email
- Collaborators work under the owner's plan, so a shared project behaves the same for everyone

Built for Real-World Set Conditions
- Offline-first workflow with automatic cloud sync, and real-time updates when you're connected
- Designed for fast use on set with responsive, touch-friendly screens

Powerful Tools for Cinematographers
- Depth of field, focal length, and exposure calculators for visual and technical prep
- Reference utilities that speed up director, DP, and AD decisions on the day

Import, Export, and Share
- Import scripts (Final Draft, Fountain, PDF) and structured project data
- Export shot lists and reports as CSV or text
- Export production-ready PDFs — call sheets, cost reports, breakdown sheets, stripboards, and sides (Pro)

If you're looking for a shot list app, call sheet app, script breakdown app, film budgeting tool, filmmaking planner, cinematography app, or indie film pre-production tool, CineFlo is built for you.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.17.0 — 2026-08-11

A BIGGER FREE PLAN
A free account is now one project with everything unlocked — unlimited scenes and shots, plus Location Scouts, To-Do Lists, Shared Files, Schedules, Diagrams, Production Budget, Script Breakdown, and script/CSV import. You can plan a whole production from beginning to end for free. CineFlo Pro is what you upgrade to for unlimited projects, collaborators, PDF export, and 5 GB of media storage. Existing free accounts keep the projects they signed up under.

BUDGET COST REPORTING
• Lock a budget to turn the approved figures into a baseline, then track Original against Revised as the show changes.
• Each line takes an Estimate to Complete, which drives an Estimated Final Cost of actual + committed + ETC. Variance now measures budget against projected final cost, the way a production cost report does.
• Book purchase orders and actual costs to a specific budget line and see Budgeted, Committed, Actual, and Remaining per line, with a spend bar per account.
• Switch the line view between Estimate and Cost Report.
• Read the whole budget on a phone — categories, departments, then lines with budget, spent, and remaining.
• Export a PDF cost report carrying budgeted, committed, actual, ETC, EFC, and variance for every line.

ALSO NEW
• Delete scenes in bulk from scene selection mode, with a count of the shots that go with them.
• A free trial on the monthly plan, alongside the annual one.
• Editors on a shared project can now create and email invite links.
• A glossary explaining the cost-report vocabulary, in Settings.

IMPROVED
• The tab bar and headers are made of real glass, on every theme, and grow with your text size.
• Dropdowns now show how many options they hold, open on your current selection, and offer search on long lists.

FIXED
• Accepting a project invite works again.
• Call sheet emails arrive with their PDF attached, and call sheet preview works on shared projects.
• Screens no longer error out on a brand-new or offline project.
• Re-importing a script no longer duplicates or resurrects scenes.
• Tapping a button twice quickly no longer does the thing twice.

### 1.15.0 — 2026-07-22

What's New
- On-set timecode capture (experimental): CineFlo can now read the live SMPTE timecode a Tentacle Sync generator broadcasts over Bluetooth and stamp it onto a take — so a completed shot carries the frame-accurate timecode your camera and sound are jammed to, giving editorial a real reference instead of a hand-typed number. Turn it on with the new Capture Timecode (Tentacle Sync) toggle under Enable Experimental Tools in Settings. A live timecode chip appears in the shot header, and marking a shot complete captures the current timecode onto the take. Nudge a late capture with a slider, steppers, or direct HH:MM:SS:FF entry, re-capture for a retake, or clear it — and it records the frame rate and drop-frame flag alongside, warning if the generator's rate disagrees with the shot's camera. Requires the latest app update (native feature); no effect on the web app.
- Take timecode in exports: captured timecode and its frame rate are now included in the CSV export and the PDF shot report (which gains an On the Day section), so on-set timecode can actually reach editorial.
- Drag to reorder shots: in the single-column shot list (Details view, sorted by shot number), hold the grip on any shot card and drag it into a new position. On drop, the scene's shots are renumbered in sequence to match — following your project's numbering convention (lettered A, B, C… or numbered 1, 2, 3…, honoring "exclude I/O") — so dropping a new shot into the middle of a coverage plan shifts everything after it down by one automatically. Custom and pickup names (PU1, INS-3) keep their name and their dragged slot while the sequence flows around them. The new order syncs to collaborators, with an Undo toast since the change fans out.
- In-app feedback & support: Send Feedback and Contact Support (Settings → Support & Easter Eggs) now open a composer inside the app instead of handing off to a mail app. Your app version, platform, OS version, and device model are attached automatically, and replies go straight back to your account email.
- Three new themes - Tungsten, Cyan & Studio: Tungsten is a warm amber-lit dark (our first warm working theme), Cyan a cool teal dark, and Studio a crisp vibrant light with indigo, coral, and mint accents. The theme picker (Settings → Theme) is now a fullscreen screen of live preview tiles grouped by System / Light / Dark / Seasonal, so you can see a theme's actual colors before selecting it.
- New Legal & Licenses screen in Settings listing the open-source software CineFlo uses.

Improvements
- The On-the-Day quick edit is now fullscreen: long-pressing a shot opens take entry (status, take/circle/roll, per-camera-slot fills, and timecode) edge-to-edge with Save in the header, instead of the old bottom sheet — more room for the camera-slot controls, and consistent with the app's other fullscreen editors.
Scene and shot auto-numbering now defaults on for new installs, along with "exclude I/O letters." If you've already set these yourself, your choice is preserved.
Timecode Bluetooth scanning is battery-conscious — it only runs while a shot is open and pauses in the background.
If Bluetooth permission is denied or off, the timecode status now offers an Open Settings shortcut — iOS never re-prompts once you've declined.

Fixes
Fixed reference photos sometimes appearing broken when a project was opened on a different device.

### 1.14.1 — 2026-07-14

CineFlo 1.14.1

CineFlo on the web.
Your projects are now available at cineflo.com - plan scenes, build call sheets, and share with your team from any browser. Everything syncs with the app.

Clearer call sheets.
Choosing who's called on the day and choosing who gets the email are now two separate steps. When you send, you pick your recipients from a list that shows who's already confirmed so you can chase just the people who haven't replied instead of re-sending to everyone.

Faster launches.
The app opens quicker and does less work in the background, especially on large projects.

### 1.14.0 — 2026-07-08

CineLog Pro is now CineFlo — new name and look, same app and all your data.

NEW
• Script Breakdown (Pro): import a screenplay, tag Cast, Props, Stunts, VFX and more, and export breakdown sheets, Day Out of Days, and Script Sides.
• Budget (Pro): accounts, line items, PO log, actuals, fringes, cash flow, and a full PDF cost report.
• Filming Locations: save locations with address, linked scenes, and scouts.
• Per-tab sharing: give collaborators View, Edit, or Hidden access per tab.

Plus a redesigned Calendar, Call Sheets, To-Do, and Scheduling, and lots of fixes.

### 1.13.0 — 2026-06-26

CineLog Pro is now CineFlo!

Also, script imports now support Fountain and PDF formats.
