CinePlay is a professional media player with timecode overlays, markers, masking and safe areas. It is ideal for dailies, portfolios, client feedback, mobile note taking and much more. TIMECODE All timings are specified in timecode notation and CinePlay can read timecode stored in a movie file. You can even add a draggable timecode overlay to the movie. MARKERS Add markers during playback and export them to a range of common marker formats. SAFE AREAS View 4:3 and 16:9 title and action safe areas over your movie. I want to review and mark clips on iPhone. However the fact that it cannot ingest video from the Files app makes it very hard to use. I'm either receiving dailies from iCloud Drive or reviewing clips from Blackmagic Camera App. Syncing through iTunes or the camera roll is such a huge limitation. I do not need another cloud service and I don't want to connect my phone to a computer in order to load clips. If there was a way up access media already stored on the phone this would be ideal for mobile workflows. ### 1/5 — Great idea, poorly implemented. *2020-10-13* This App really needs an overhaul. ### 5/5 — Essential for doc makers *2020-04-27* This app is an essential part of my documentary workflow! It allows me to take large swaths of screening with me where ever I go, mark it up and then put the markers back on the stringout timelines in my edit suite. Paired with cut notes allows for massive days of screening without stopping the playhead to make marks. I would hazard to guess that this makes me about 30x more effective per day. ### 1/5 — Buggy *2020-04-17, version 1.7.5* I have never seen that buggy app as Cineplay for iOS. I’ve been using Cineplay for Mac for couple of years and have been looking for iOS version to make my workflow even easier however iOS app is useless. I takes hours to load my library, even if it finally loads, app keeps crashing on my iPhone X iOS13.4.1!!!! - I cannot import any video from my files app - I cannot find my video in loads of other stuff from my phones photo library - tools are not responding Do not buy this app! I am very dissapointed, sorry Digital rebellion, I will probably ask for refund and will report this app. ### 3/5 — Shutting down on the start *2019-12-18, version 1.7.3* Application closing almost immediately after start ### 4/5 — Great for marking up video *2019-10-29* I use this app to mark up hockey videos I record of my son’s travel hockey team. I export the markers, through email, to a server that creates clips based on the markers using Python scripts. The main thing I’d love to see is keyboard shortcuts to create a marker, jump between markers, play/pause, and and go frame by frame as I use my iPad Pro to film and mark them up. ### 4/5 — I want to search, *2017-10-11, version 1.6.6* I like this player, but I want to serch and pickup movs from my library and play them in order(continuously). ### 1/5 — 最弱プレイヤー変わらず *2015-04-22, version 1.5.1* 今だになんか微妙なアプリ。 タイムコードが使えるのでいいかな？と思い購入。ただ対応フォーマットが限定されるので他のプレイヤーで開けるものが一つも開けないです。せっかくですがこの会社の目論むネットワーク使いをする人以外はまず買わない方がいいかも。 ### 3/5 — It's the start of something useful *2013-02-14* It's a nice start, but there are a few interface bugs (like video starts playing when you close the settings screen). The big disappointment (and huge part of the reason I bought it) is to mark up videos and notes for a review for the editor. You can add markers… but you can't label them or add a note. What's the point? We need to be able to add a marker, call up a keyboard, label it, and add notes. Later, we need to have list level access to the marker titles (to jump around), and to be able to export them (timecode, title & note) for the editor to use.
