## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.60 — 2026-06-13

Version 1.6

A major data overhaul
The entire app is built on a rebuilt data layer — every Pokémon, move, ability, item, location, type matchup, and learnset across every main-series game now lives in one unified database. Faster lookups, more consistent answers, accurate Pokédex counts across every regional dex, and corrected catch locations (including Scarlet/Violet).

Smarter Pokédex & Living Dex filters
Filter by multiple types at once, and — when no specific game is selected — narrow the dex by generation. The Living Dex tracker uses the same filters, so your progress always matches what you're viewing.

New: Candy Calc
Plan exactly how to spend your Exp. Candy. Pick a Pokémon, set your current and target levels, enter what's in your bag, and get the optimal combination that reaches the target with the least wasted EXP.

New: Natures Reference
A clean 5×5 grid of all 25 natures — tap any one to see its stat boost, drop, and flavor preferences.

New: Egg Groups Reference
Browse every breeding compatibility group with sprites of every breedable Pokémon.

New: Type Chart
A quick 18×18 reference of every type matchup. Tap any type to highlight that row or column and trace a single matchup across the grid.

Team Builder improvements
Import a full team instantly from a plain text list, and add Megas straight from the picker with a lighter, tidier layout.

Refreshed home page
The main hub is now a 2×2 tile layout — Pokédex, Living Dex, Team Builder, and Database front and centre.

Credits
Candy Calc is inspired by and adapted from the open-source candy-calc project by richi3f (github.com/richi3f/candy-calc) — thank you for the great reference implementation.

### 1.50 — 2026-04-30

What's New in 1.5

Team Optimizer
The Team Builder now suggests Pokémon to fill your coverage gaps. Filter by final forms, exclude legendaries, and sort by highest BST or best coverage. Each suggestion shows what it covers and any weaknesses it adds to your team.

Type Coverage Everywhere
Every Pokémon now shows which types it hits super effectively, alongside the usual defensive matchups. Weaknesses are split into 4× and 2× rows so you always know how bad a threat really is.

Smarter Pokémon Picker
New filters: final forms only, exclude legendaries, sort by BST. BST is now shown on every card. Tap ⓘ to preview stats and type coverage before you add anyone. Pick up to two types at once to find dual-type Pokémon — all type chips now fit on one screen without scrolling.

Also in this update: Legends: Z-A Mega Dex with 96 Mega Evolutions, a Mega tracker, Mega support in the team builder, and Pokémon info sheets throughout the app.

### 1.49 — 2026-04-27

What's New in Version 1.4

Cinnabar Lab now knows which game you're playing — and tailors everything to match.

Game selector — Pick your game from the new banner on the home screen. Choose from 22 games across all generations, from Red & Blue to Scarlet & Violet and Legends: Z-A.

Your Pokédex, your region — The Pokédex and Living Dex Tracker filter to only show Pokémon available in your chosen game. No more sifting through Pokémon you can't catch.

Catch locations — Tap any Pokémon to see exactly where to find it in your game. Routes, caves, fishing spots — all right there.

Game-accurate move learnsets — Level-up moves, TMs, egg moves, and tutors are shown exactly as they appear in your game. No guessing which TMs exist or what level something learns a move.

Generation-correct type charts — Gen 1 had no Steel or Dark types. Gen 5 didn't have Fairy. Team Builder now analyzes your team using the actual rules of your game, and every Pokémon's detail page shows Weak to, Resists, and Immune to accordingly.

Pokédex entries — Each Pokémon now shows the in-game Pokédex description from your chosen game version.

Wild held items & training stats — See what items wild Pokémon carry in your game, plus catch rate, base friendship, egg cycles, and EV yield on every detail page.

Items expanded — The items database has grown to 556 items across 19 categories, filtered so only items available in your game appear.

Full Legends: Arceus coverage — All 242 Hisui Pokémon now have complete location data, held items, and Pokédex entries.

Per-game Dex saves — Your Living Dex progress is saved separately for each game, so you can track multiple playthroughs at once.
