There are no full-screen ads in this game. Not between levels, not on launch, not ever. Ads appear as a small banner at the bottom and nothing else. That is the whole reason this game exists. A puzzle you are in the middle of thinking about should not be replaced by a video with a close button hiding in the corner. THREE RULES - One piece per row - One piece per column - One piece per coloured area And no piece may sit directly next to another, diagonals included. Squares that can no longer be used are marked for you, automatically, the moment you place a piece. You never have to mark them yourself, so a board takes about eight taps instead of sixty. NO TYPING There is no keyboard and no number pad. Tap an empty square to place a piece. Tap it again to take it back. That is the entire control scheme. Nothing needs to be aimed at precisely, which matters more than it sounds like it does. NOTHING IS RUSHING YOU - No time limit - No lives - No game over - No "watch an ad to continue" Take an hour on one board if you want. THE RULES EXPLAIN THEMSELVES Each of the three rules comes with a diagram, not just a sentence. On the practice board, every piece you place is followed by a line saying which rule closed the squares that just filled with crosses -- "Rule 3: nothing may sit right next to a piece, diagonals included" -- so the rule arrives at the moment it applies. IT TELLS YOU WHERE YOU ARE STUCK When somewhere on the board runs out of room, that place is marked in red and named: "No piece can go in the outlined area any more." "No piece can go in that row any more." You will not spend ten minutes on a board that was finished five moves ago. Take one piece back and carry on. 60 PUZZLES, 4x4 UP TO 9x9 The ladder starts easy and stays fair: eight 4x4 boards, twelve 5x5, fourteen 6x6, twelve 7x7, eight 8x8, six 9x9. Every board has been machine-verified to have exactly one solution. There is no guessing, and there is never more than one right answer. Solved boards are marked, so you can always see how far you have come. FOR ANYONE WHO FINDS COLOURS HARD TO TELL APART The area colours were chosen by measurement, not by eye. Every pair of the nine was checked through simulations of protanopia, deuteranopia and tritanopia, and kept far enough apart in all three. Colour is never the only signal. Area boundaries are drawn as heavy lines, and a place that has run out of room is outlined in red. If the colours do not come through, the shapes still do. Text and background meet the usual international contrast standard.
