## What is Cirrus Aviation?

Cirrus Aviation App

Train Smarter. Arrive Prepared. Fly More.

Requires iOS 17 or later.

The Cirrus Aviation App is a comprehensive digital training and preflight companion for Cirrus Aviation pilots and students. It brings procedures, aircraft information, study tools, and preflight preparation into a single structured platform designed to support efficient flight training and safe operations.

Instead of spending valuable time searching through documents or assembling planning materials before a lesson, you can prepare in advance and arrive ready to fly.

One-time purchase provides long-term access throughout your training.

---

Preflight Workflow

The Cirrus Aviation App opens directly to a guided preflight workflow designed to help pilots prepare thoroughly before every flight. A structured five-step process walks you through risk assessment, weight and balance, airworthiness, performance, and FSP review.

This process helps ensure important planning steps are completed consistently before every flight.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 2026.8 — 2026-08-27

New

Flight Review & IPC Helper. Runs a flight review (§61.56) or an
instrument proficiency check (§61.57(d)) per AC 61–98E. CFI mode to conduct,
Pilot mode to prepare; work through preparation, ground review, flight
activities, debrief, and an aeronautical health plan, then copy the endorsement
template. Sessions save to a searchable Logbook.

Hold Pattern Planner & Trainer. Enter the inbound course, turn
direction, altitude, and winds to see the recommended entry on a live racetrack
diagram, with timing and wind correction. Trainer mode gives instant feedback.

Changed

Aeronautical Contraction Search updated to FAA JO 7340.2P Change 3. CCF
(Combined Control Facility) and NMS (NOTAM Management Service) added, KT
flagged for ICAO use, RCAG redefined as “remote center air/ground facility”,
and the retired CERAP and USNS removed.

Fixed

Bundled documents open faster and more reliably. The PDFs use a new viewer that
no longer stalls or opens empty, and sharing one keeps its filename.

### 2026.7 — 2026-04-06

Modernized the Airplane Flying Handbook (AFH) viewer with improved stability and smoother scrolling. The previous viewer could crash after extended use. The new viewer uses a streamlined PDF engine for a more reliable reading experience.

### 2026.6 — 2026-03-28

Added instructor weight picker to Weight & Balance. Select your instructor to pre-populate their weight for W&B calculations. Your selection is saved between flights.
