Pocket prep has many of these certification type review apps so these problems are mostly likely because they have a cookie cutter format to their questions across all of their products. Don’t waste your money, there are better free resources online. **Developer response:** We regret to hear that. We believe our material is helpful and relevant, so do many of our users. Your feedback will certainly push us to work even harder! ### 1/5 — dev needs to read crash logs and fix threading *2019-02-16, version 6.7* All versions of the PocketPrep apps display the same problems. Frequent hangs/freezes, crashes, and lost data. Reading the device/app logs (by connecting device to Xcode) shows most of the problems are due to poor thread management. Long activities on the main thread being system halted after timeout is exceeded, or threads trying to dispatch work to themselves. This is sloppy coding. And, it’s obvious they reuse the same code across all of their apps. If I put my device in airplane mode, these apps do behave better... further confirming most of the freeze/crash occurrences are within the thread management of network calls and SQLite data updates (which is clearly indicated in the crash logs). I contacted PocketPrep directly about data loss from app crashes, provided details, got an automated reply, followed by absolutely no response from them. As much as I like the idea of these apps and the progress tracking features, it’s nearly addictive when it works, the reality is these apps aren’t stable and the metrics data is gibberish. In hindsight I should have spent the money purchasing additional books and avoided these apps like the plague that they are. ### 1/5 — Trash *2014-12-02, version 4.1* Don't waste money on this. ### 2/5 — Bugs *2019-04-28, version 6.7* Noticing a lot of bugs with the domain listings under the custom exam and exam readiness section. Also the way the questions and the answers are asked are very different in CISA however it makes you think more on the phone. I love the interface and tracking. Just improve the content in some areas to be closer to cisa. Shuffle the question of the day too. Ran into the same ones a bunch ### 4/5 — Excellent Mobile App - Use Only as Supplement *2018-12-17, version 6.7* The user interface and the features of this mobile app are hands-down the best among all exam prep apps I tried. The language of the written questions is precise and the multiple choice questions are closely based on the ISACA text. Keep in mind, however, that there is a fundamental difference between question choices that test one’s “raw” memorization vs. those that strive to test one’s understanding of the material. The former is what this mobile app mainly offers. The latter is much more difficult and expensive to do, but it is what the real test will be about. Therefore, while you may find this app useful as a supplementary study aid, it is NOT a replacement for ISACA’s exam practice questions you can buy as a book or a web access subscription. ISACA practice test questions are significantly more expensive, but they are much closer to the real test and should be your primary authoritative exam prep aid—not any 3rd party stuff including this nicely written app. ### 4/5 — Good app, could have more free content *2017-06-20, version 6.3* Most questions seem to be worded well, not ambiguous. Very few questions are available in the free app. I'd like to see more before buying it. ### 5/5 — CISA by pocketprep *2020-01-20, version 6.7.6* Awesome material! Everything is referenced therefore avoids confusion and legality of questions. Very up to date! We wish you the best and hope you pass your exam! ### 5/5 — Passed on the first try... *2018-12-22, version 6.7* I took the CISA exam 12/21/2018 and I passed on the first try using only the ISACA CISA manual and the Pocket Prep CISA app (the version you pay for - but it was on sale for $19.99) as I was too cheap to buy the ISACA CISA question database for $225. The app was genius as the the questions are in the same type of format as the exam and further the answers reference the ISACA CISA manual for extended studying. My average test score on the app was. 74. Also, some of the same questions in the app appeared in one form or another on the exam! The best $19.99 I ever spent! Thanks Pocket Prep😀 ## Most praised reviews (5 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Passed the CISA *2018-09-26, version 6.5.6* This app was helpful for those times I wanted to study on-the-go. This shouldn’t be used as the sole source for studying. One good thing about this app is the updated material on new technology. One recommendation, ISACA doesn’t test over specific NIST, ISO or COBIT, so most of those questions can be removed. ### 5/5 — Best study aid for cisa *2018-05-23, version 6.5.3* I was struggling with the QA database as i could not find references of questions in the book. One friend told me about this app and I downloaded it two weeks ago and studied it every day. I just took my cisa exam today and i passed at the first attempt.
