## What is CISO Briefing?

CISO Briefing transforms the latest cybersecurity news into a personalized audio briefing — generated by AI, spoken aloud, and delivered fresh every day.

Every morning, CISO Briefing pulls from more than 80 curated threat intelligence feeds across categories like vulnerabilities, ICS/OT, cloud security, geopolitics, maritime, and regulatory compliance. It generates a concise script tailored to your role, industry, and priorities — and reads it to you using natural text-to-speech.

BUILT FOR SECURITY PROFESSIONALS
Whether you're a CISO, analyst, engineer, or IT manager, CISO Briefing gives you a structured daily briefing without the noise. No endless scrolling. No paywalled articles. Just the signals that matter to you.

A FRACTION OF THE COST
Managed threat intelligence briefing services typically cost thousands per month. CISO Briefing delivers personalized daily intel at a fraction of that price — without compromising on relevance or depth.

PERSONALIZED TO YOUR CONTEXT
Tell the app your role, company, sector, and focus areas — guided by built-in wizards. CISO Briefing uses this context to filter and prioritize what's included, so a financial sector CISO hears different things than an ICS engineer.

BUILT FOR ACTION
Share briefings with your team as audio, PDF, or plain text — directly from the app. Turn your morning briefing into follow-up tasks for your security operations team.

PROFESSIONAL PLAYBACK
• Chapter navigation — jump between stories
• 15-second skip forward and back
• Resume where you left off
• Adjustable playback speed
• Choose your AI voices for host and analyst

BRIEFING LENGTHS
• Sitrep — a focused snapshot, up to 5 minutes
• In-Depth — an expert dialogue between host and analyst, up to 10 minutes

Length adapts to the day's intel — no padding, no filler.

TWO WAYS TO ACCESS
• Monthly subscription — instant access, no API key needed
• Bring your own keys — connect your Anthropic API key for briefing generation and your OpenAI API key for audio, and run at cost price

SCHEDULE YOUR BRIEFING
Set days and time — CISO Briefing generates automatically in the background, ready before your first meeting.

WEEKLY DEDUPLICATION
CISO Briefing tracks what topics were covered this week and avoids repeating themes — so every briefing adds new value.

PRIVACY FIRST
No account required. Your profile stays on your device. Analytics are tied only to an anonymous device ID — never to your name, email, or Apple ID.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.2 — 2026-06-24

What's new in this build
This release adds language and personalisation options, a searchable threat index, and makes briefing playback in CarPlay reliable.

New
* Briefing language: generate briefings in Dutch, French, German, or English (More → Briefing Language). Script, audio, and prompts all follow your choice, with native accents for more natural speech.
* Briefing Focus: a new wizard (Context → Briefing Focus) that sets what each briefing prioritises, such as sector threats, stack vulnerabilities, NL compliance (NIS2 / Cyberbeveiligingswet), or board narrative, building on your existing profile.
* Personalisation always on: your profile description now always shapes the tone and emphasis of every briefing. The manual toggle has been removed.
* Weekly Threat Index: the Weekly tab is now a searchable index of the themes from your recent briefings, grouped by category (ransomware, threat actors, vulnerabilities, patches, and more). Search by ransomware, vendor/platform, or country name and tap straight through to the briefing that covered it. It spans past weeks, not just the current one, and can be exported as text or PDF.

CarPlay and playback
* The app is now the primary audio source. It no longer pauses or ducks your music or podcasts on launch; other audio is only interrupted when you tap play.
* Artwork now updates per chapter during playback, on CarPlay, the lock screen, and Control Center, matching the content block.
* Chapter list now has its own button (replacing the home button) with colour-coded icons per content block for faster navigation.
* Clearer failures: a single readable error message instead of a blank player, the spinner clears the moment playback starts, and time estimates are corrected (Sitrep around 2.5 min, In-depth around 5 min).
* Non-default speeds (0.75x and 1.25x) now apply reliably at the start of a briefing.
* Briefings now appear in CarPlay even when your iPhone is locked. Your existing sitreps and in-depth briefings show up on the car display instead of an empty list, and generating a new briefing from CarPlay works on a locked device.

Reliability
* Briefing generation no longer fails with an "audio could not be generated" error when you have an active subscription.
* Subscription status is now re-verified with Apple each session, reducing cases where access was wrongly blocked or granted after a plan change.
* PDF exports now show their page-number footer reliably in dark mode (previously it could be near-invisible on the white page).

Thanks for using this app! If anything still looks off in CarPlay, please let us know.

### 1.1 — 2026-05-28

What's New

Guided profile setup
A new banner appears before your first briefing if your company or personal profile is not yet complete. Tap "Set up" to walk through three guided wizards — company profile, personal profile, and priorities — in sequence. Each wizard opens automatically after the previous one closes. After your first briefing you get a one-time reminder if any profile is still empty, opening directly to what is missing.

Progress during briefing generation
The full-screen overlay during audio rendering has been restored. While your briefing audio is being created you now see an animated waveform, a chapter progress bar, and a Cancel button — so the app never looks frozen during the longest phase of generation.

Warmup animation
During the feed warmup phase a figure now appears on screen receiving documents that stack up as more articles are cached. A live counter shows how many seconds the warmup has been running, so you always know the app is working and how long it will take.

Faster feed loading
A background task now pre-warms all RSS feeds every two hours. When you generate a briefing the feeds are already cached, which significantly reduces warmup time and increases the number of sources that respond within the deadline.

Delete confirmation
Swiping to delete a briefing now shows a confirmation alert before the briefing is removed, preventing accidental loss.

Accessibility improvements
All icon-only buttons now have accessibility labels for VoiceOver users.
