## What is Citrus Shelf?

Give the books you read a place of their own.

Citrus Shelf is a reading log that grows into a bookshelf. Each book has a spine shaped by its page count and coloured by its genre. Books in progress begin in linen; as you read, their colour rises. Finished books gather into a shelf worth looking back at and sharing.

Add a book by searching for its title or author, scanning its barcode, or entering the details yourself. Check the page count, choose Reading or Finished, and give it a place on your shelf. Filter by Reading or Finished, or search your library by title or author.

Make the room yours. Choose Light or Dark appearance and one of six accent colours, turn favourite books face out, and arrange a plant, a cat or puppy, a reading lamp, a tea mug, a candle and more on the boards, each made in 3D and brought to life when you tap it. Create collections for comfort reads, books that changed you, or any story your library tells.

Keep the words that stay with you. Write thoughts, quotes and photos in a book’s margins, with an optional page number. For a quiet reading session, choose a time target and, if you like, a sound, from soft rain to ocean waves, that keeps playing with your phone locked, then record your progress when you finish.

Look back at finished books on your shelf this month, this year and all time. See the pages in books you finished this year, your longest and shortest finished books, a January-to-December view of this year's finishes, your progress towards a yearly goal you choose, and the genres you've read.

When you want to share, make a picture of your shelf, a collection, a book, a margin note or a monthly or yearly recap. Choose a square, portrait or story format, save it to Photos, or open your phone's share sheet. Notes and photos appear only in images you choose to include them in; a book’s notes are off by default. Shelf, collection and recap images never include them.

Your library works on your phone without an account or a connection. Searching the catalogue or looking up a barcode needs a connection. Sign in when you want to keep your shelf across phones. Thoughts and quotes travel with it; photos in your margins do not sync between phones.

Start with the book you are reading now. Let the shelf grow from there.

Your shelf, with a little more life.

Artifacts that come to life
Every artifact has been made again in 3D, with real materials and soft light, and each one comes to life for a moment whenever you tap it, place it or finish a book. The cat blinks and curls its tail. The fern catches a breeze. The candle's flame flickers. They're larger now too, so they hold their own beside your books.

New on the shelf
A tea mug, a candle and a pencil cup, each in sage, ivory or warm clay, and all yours from the start. There are more ways to make the shelf yours as well: three coats for the cat and the puppy, three leaf shapes for the plant, and new finishes for the vase, lamp, globe, hanging fern and moon mobile.

Keep reading with your phone locked
Start a session and lock your phone. Your timer keeps counting and your reading sound keeps playing, and a Live Activity shows the book and the time on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. A reading sound pauses your music or podcast.

A better first look
New readers see their shelf take shape first. Signing in stays optional.

Your year in books
See the books and pages you've finished this year, your progress towards a goal you choose, the genres you've read and a quiet month-by-month view. Share monthly and yearly recaps in Square, Story or the new Portrait format, with previews that appear straight away.
