When opened, it goes to a blank white screen with unreadable content for screen readers, making it unusable and not ADA accessible. If functional, the app could greatly improve accessibility by offering an accessible mall map, store listings, and turn-by-turn indoor navigation, similar to what other major malls already provide. Accessibility issues at City Creek go beyond the app. Carts frequently block ADA door buttons, entrances are obstructed, and security has knocked on single-user ADA restrooms for taking “too long,” despite disability-related needs. City Creek also feels far less welcoming than when it first opened. Disabled people and those on fixed incomes increasingly feel out of place if they aren’t spending money. There is little regular entertainment or community presence. It’s also frustrating that the mall is closed on Sundays, especially during the two annual General Conferences that bring many out-of-town visitors, with even the food court closed.
