However, I have expanded my storage on the game and I have random items show up in my storage, items that I am not even on the level to create those specific items and the game doesn’t use the items until I am at the correct level where I can create those items and so it takes up 10+ of my storage slots so I cannot store the items I want to store. Additionally the sellers marketplace never works so I cannot even sell the items. I paid money for extra storage and it was pointless. ### 4/5 — The need for police/fire stations etc everywhere is annoying *2022-10-25, version 2.0.1* I love this game, but the thing that has been really irking me is that I keep losing tenants because of the need for police stations / fire stations ETC. I’ve spend maybe almost $90 on the game today and I can’t stand the fact that it’s so hard to organize my city in a way that makes everyone happy. Please take into consideration to take that feature away. It’s super stressful LOL. Thank you ### 4/5 — Good. It’s a good game, but when the same events and all happen over and over, nothing new seems to be updated, eventually you get bored being there is nothing to look forward too. I loved this game.. but where is the creators and all to continue to monitor the game and continue to work on it?. ### 4/5 — I love it but there needs to be another storage option and some tweaks *2022-02-22, version 2.0.1* This game is great, it is fun and it keeps you busy while playing. However, I have a few major issues with it. The game has several options for you to watch an ad and get a reward, this feature is often not working. I am not sure why it hardly works but it is quite disappointing. The other major issue is the lack of a building storage or resale option. For example, if I previously bought a small water tower and now I have a large one that more than provides for my city, there is no way for me to store or sell the small one. The only option is to bulldoze it or leave it there. I don’t think this is fair based on the fact that coins are hard to come by and it takes a while for you to be able to buy things. I believe there should be an option to sell and/or store it until you need it again later. Please also consider that it takes up space in your city and if you currently don’t have use for it in the city, it’s a waste. Additionally, I believe that as you level up your rewards should as well, for example if at level 5 I am receiving a 50 coin gift for upgrading a building, at level 20 I should be getting more coins as a gift, maybe 200 coins as a gift or so, I just believe your growth should reflect in your gifts as well. Overall, I absolutely love this game and think that it could be perfect with a few tweaks. ### 3/5 — GREAT GAME BUT NEEDS IMPROVEMENTS!! *2022-02-03, version 2.0.1* This is a fun game!! I play it on my phone a lot, but there are some cons about the game that I think can be improved. PROS: Great concept and love how much you can do in the game! Love the trait mixing and all the BIZZIES we can collect! Love that extra buildings and characters are given for daily logins too. CONS: We are given a Daily Crate to open, but when I hit the “Watch Video” button, nothing happens. It takes FOREVER to open a crate and sometimes I give up after clicking on the button hundreds of times without an ad coming up. Why not just give us a free crate to open without requiring to watch a video of it doesn’t even work. Trait mixing: Let us know how long it will take to trait mix two characters before we start mixing. Maybe allow us to see what character will come from the mix before we start it to avoid duplicates, if that can be done. Cost of adding a second Awakening Spot of 180 cash is a little steep. Fusions: Allow us to be able to move buildings that are in the process of being fused. It’s frustrating too that it takes FOREVER to get fusion materials. Maybe allow Service buildings to be fused, i.e, two small power plants to a medium one so we aren’t forced to spend more money on larger ones when they are locked at the beginning. Hope to see some improvements!! ### 3/5 — Love it *2022-01-11, version 2.0.1* One of the longest games that have kept my interest! I have one issue though and that is the large refinery….. I cannot select them to makes items nor move them to rearrange them…. It’s a little annoying being that you do have to spend so much coins on the buildings and cannot even select them. Can we fix this bug I’ll rewrite a review and give five stars!!! This game is perfect other then that issue ### 2/5 — Ads every minute *2021-04-30, version 2.0.1* I really like the graphic style and controls of this game so it seemed like it was going to be a great game, however, an ad pops up every min or two which you have to wait for the X to close to come up. As far as I can see there is no option to pay for an ad free game. I’ve been playing The Simpson’s Tapped Out for a few years and my town is about to reach EA’s city size limit so was looking for a city building replacement, this is not it 😒you can’t relax and build with so many pop ups. ### 4/5 — Issues loading *2021-04-01, version 2.0.1* I would easily rate this game 5 stars but there seems to be so many issues with connections to the server and other loading times. I am playing on a brand new phone with perfect connection but about 50% of the time that I open the app it loads half way then freezes. In addition every time I try to watch an ad for time skips the ad pops up but will not play, stating that there was trouble connecting to the network. Other than this, the game is great because it does not seem dull and repetitive like other city building games can get, there are so many different types of tools, materials and currencies that are used to upgrade your city. There are not long wait times or upgrade limits and so many different aspects of the game to interact with to make your city better and earn materials. Unfortunately the last update was a year ago, so I am not too hopeful in seeing a change in these bug issues. ### 4/5 — Love the app BUT... *2020-07-25, version 2.0.1* I downloaded this game a few years ago and liked it but later deleted it and only recently reinstalled. I find myself playing the game daily and I love all the cool, unique aspects! It is truly a fantastic game! The only bone I can pick with the game is a bug where it won’t let me watch ads to lower time, spin the wheel, or collect extra money. I can tap on the watch ad button, but no ads will show. I VERY rarely get ads in-game, which I appreciate, but I do wish it would work when I actually want to watch one, haha! Beyond that small issue, I think the app is great and have been very happy with it! :) ### 3/5 — Game is fun but the ads.... *2020-06-13, version 2.0.1* The ads are a problem, either it’s transactions pushed for the game or a pop-up, but the most recent ad pop-up has prompted me to write this review. It turned my whole game black except for the ad and the X to close it was unclickable and I had to close the game to get rid of the ad and actually okay 5r game. This is extremely annoying and I understand you need revenue for a free game thru ads but there has to be a better way to show ads that isn’t so sudden and disruptive to gameplay. ### 4/5 — Extremely Fun, Needs Improvement *2020-06-10, version 2.0.1* I love this game. It is a super fun way to pass some time. It is creative and carefree. I also really like the music. However, the free videos don’t work for me. I would love to support this company by watching and ad now and then, which also (apparently) come with benefits, but they don’t work or load. For a free game it’s pretty cool though. I would love to see an update that helps the loading problems. Edit: The videos worked for a short time, and now none of the videos work. It always tells me my WiFi connection is bad even when I have perfectly fine WiFi. Sometimes I’ll click the watch video button, it’ll “think” for a second and then just bring me back to the screen. Very frustrating. ### 3/5 — Good Game Spoiled by Limitations and Ads *2019-12-16, version 1.9.0* I have been looking for a good city building game similar to Township, and this one has so much potential. Graphics and art looks great, sound is great, and is fairly easy to learn. However, I feel like after about an hour of gameplay, the lack of availability of special parts to expand territory and upgrade buildings, and limited means of making money have practically kept me stuck and unable to play for more than 15 to 20 minutes per day. I can’t do much of anything for free it seems. Then there’s the ads. My God these are some of the most obtrusive ads I’ve seen. They suddenly appear right in your face without warning while you are playing, which will cause you to accidentally tap on them by accident many times like it happened to me. It’s a shame really. Guess I’ll keep playing Township. ### 3/5 — Fun but issues *2019-10-03, version 1.9.0* I have been playing this game for awhile now. There are major glitches. Items that took me awhile to craft, come up missing and items I bid on in the market turn out to be something else that I cannot use. Buildings abandoned in which it will say that it needs a hospital and even building one next to it, they never move back in. Then when you have several abandoned and you demolish one, more immediately pop up abandoned. So I have to make a area to keep the abandoned houses. No matter what I do, they never move back in as the game claims ### 4/5 — Fun but annoying sometimes *2019-09-14, version 1.9.0* Yes so I really like this game, because it has a lot of different things from other city games. But I don’t like how an add pop ups every 30 seconds. And also there’s this thing I don’t understand that some buildings give you the option to watch an add to win prices and when you click on in, nothing happens it just loads. Other than that, it’s a pretty good game :) ### 4/5 — One of best city build apps, but real slow *2019-06-18, version 1.9.0* I like the design, the wonderful bizzles, and the bonus buildings. But, in order to actually build, you know, a city, requires surprisingly a lot. You can actually get in trouble building too many buildings at once, because upgrading requires rare mats only gotten in missions and chests. I had fun slowly working my way up to Lvl 22 with a 200k population, but now ANY building upgrade requires over 20 common mats or 10 rare mats. Plus, those missions are completing at a 30-40% rate despite high level bizzles doing then. Despite my population, my town is only 3 blocks by 7 blocks. Hardly impressive, and frustrating how much time (or money) I'll need to spend too feel like an actual city. Early game is great, but mid/late game is disappointing. Hope they fix it, because I never minded popping advertising chests to make them $$ ### 3/5 — Fix the ad issues! *2019-06-03, version 1.9.0* This is a fun game! I’ve enjoyed playing it, however, like lots of other reviewers, I am getting so frustrated with the ads. There is an ad popping up around every 30 seconds! And most of the time, the ad pops up slowly, so you don’t see it at first, and if you tap your screen at all it takes you out of the game and to your browser. This is beyond irritating to me. I don’t want to play a game where every minute I’m forced out of the game to look at some ad. Also, many of the ads and videos that you can choose to watch (for extra money, etc.) don’t work. They just sit as if they’re loading, then either boot you out, or freeze up the game. I want to keep playing this game, because I genuinely like it, but the ad issues make it nearly impossible ### 3/5 — Good, but... *2019-05-23, version 1.9.0* I got this game yesterday, and today, I’ve experienced a problem. I haven’t upgraded my storage enough, so now I am at the point where my storage is full, but I cannot upgrade it because I do not have the correct materials and cannot get any. I tried to sell my items to free up space, but I was informed that the age I put in mattered-meaning that if I put in an age, it would change how I could play the game. I think this is a really good game, but I think you should make it less possible to run into a dead end like this. Overall, I think it was a good game. ### 4/5 — Great App But.... *2019-05-18, version 1.9.0* This game is super addicting like you would want to come back every hour to see what you can do to make sure the Bizzies are happy. It could be a five star if it didn’t take alot of juice to upgrade a Bizzie once you get past like Level 8 of giving them juice. Then, the juice takes forever to make and it doesn’t be enough to level them up. Another problem is how most buildings require cash, but there isn’t a lot of opportunity to earn up to that much cash. Otherwise, this is a great game. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Annoying black screen ADs! *2023-01-20, version 2.0.1* Very 5 minutes an ad would pop up, no biggie. Until you try to find the skip or exit button a counter, something. It’s a glitch and no matter where you tap it stays on the screen. So now I have to close the entire game, reopen it just to play another 5 minutes and see another blank/black screen. I’ve tried offline as-well, no use. I had high hopes and was looking forward to playing. Oh-well, I guess on to another developer who doesn’t have these glitches. Note: under their customer service website it lists known issues(most of which are significant), with no eta on fixes/solutions. Re-assure your client/customer base on fixes to come and offer a pay for AD-FREE services! ### 1/5 — Cannot even perform basic functions *2022-06-23, version 2.0.1* I guess it makes sense the last update was over two years ago. There are an infinite amount of bugs in the game and it astonishes me that the game still maintains a 4.7 stars on the App Store. I have the newest iPhone with the most up to date iOS and still cannot perform basic functions of the game. I cannot even list items for sale on the market. Watching ads crashes the game. And micro transactions are false advertisements. I’ve paid for several things only to get nothing from the offer; or after paying only to find out it was a bait and switch and I got something completely different and I’d have screenshots to prove it. I truly enjoy playing this game so I wish it was updated to fix this bug riddled game that’s currently available. And fairly compensate those that have been negatively impacted by your bait and switch micro transactions. ### 1/5 — Payments and commercial doesn’t work!!!! And no support!!!! *2020-04-28, version 2.0.1* In this Video Game the payment method of the play money doesn’t really work... there are 2 ways to pay in the money one are the coins the second is the green paper money... this money didn’t have any name... if you sell something and you decide to remove it cause you don’t want to sell it it cost you some green paper money oh i forgot there is the next problem you have to close the app so this process takes place at all! Well if you decide to remove it cost you one green paper money, so when this process is done you lost the thing that you decide not to sell and the money... that’s not so good! The commercial that always comes it’s really annoying and if you want too see it because you want to earn some money it never works! And the best thing is the support of this game it’s really the best cause there is no support... all in one this game should be generally overhauled! and in my opinion Apple should take the game out of the AppStore Really bad app (game) ### 1/5 — Ads make the game crash *2020-04-19, version 2.0.1* After years of coming back to this game to build up my city I finally have realized I have to call it quits. It’s one thing to play a game with 5 second pop up ads that appear every couple minutes, but too many times the whole game would freeze and I can’t get out of the ad. It’s unfortunate because it is pretty addictive, and fun to create a city and there’s plenty of mini goals to achieve. Best of luck to the folks behind this app, maybe you guys can spend some time fixing it before you add any other features. Otherwise it would be a nice game. ### 1/5 — I really like it but *2020-02-03, version 1.9.0* So I’ve almost fallen in complete love with the game, until I realized a few things in need of improvement: one, a majority of my friends playing are never able to access the “free videos” due to “low connection” even when we’re all at home with amazing connection from our own routers. All at different houses. Two? There is no such thing as a city layout editer. Be warned! You wont be able to really reorganize as necessary to get all residents into a formation with all the necessities. It’s very hard to move things around as you can’t take them off the map temporarily and relay out roads, then add buildings, etc, like every other game with a city in it. Even rise of kingdoms has one. I’m actually thinking of looking for a new city game just for that last reason, because I like to idk design my city, and I really can’t do much to fix my layouts without moving everything around like sliding jigsaw pieces. Frustrating. Other than this, yeah the game looks cool and is fun, even if it’s free to play. Just needs a few things fixed in updates. ### 1/5 — Funnish but very flawed *2018-10-31, version 1.6.0* The game is overall pretty good, if you like the type of game where you micromanage everything. There is a lot of resource mining and grinding in order to level up buildings and NPCs. However the game is seriously flawed. 9/10 times it will not sync to the game server. It gets stuck on the load screen with a stopped loading bar. I have to flick it closed and open it again several times to get to the game itself. Within the game you have “goody boxes” that you’re supposed to be able to open once you watch an Ad. Okay. I’m good with that. However, the ads NEVER load, and I’ve never been able to open one of those free goody boxes. May times when I tap on a building to build something, the tap does nothing. The game isn’t registering my tap. I can tap the building immediately adjacent to the “non-working” building and it works correctly. There are just too many bugs and glitches in this game, which is surprising. Usually Gameloft does a great job on their games. This is the first one I can say anything really bad about. ### 1/5 — Fun but needs to be more bearable for a f2p *2017-11-23, version 1.3.0* I was super addicted to this game at first, but after time I got annoyed at a few things. One, a few times when an ad popped up the game would crash, and I would log back in and realize a few changes and upgrades I had made in the past few minutes weren’t saved, but the resources used for those changes never came back. The second reason, and ultimately why I deleted the game was that as a f2p, the income of coins I got was simply too little for the amount I needed to build police stations, fire stations, sewer plantations, and all the other things needed to keep citizens happy. I found it unrealistic that a fire station was out of range even though it was only a few houses down from a building.I was forced to spend all of my money on police and fire stations(I had 6 of each for a population of 36,000) which caused a lack of money when I needed water tanks, sewer plantations, etc. which made citizens abandon their homes. To solve this problem, I would say to at least get rid of range and have a set population for each station, or make the range at least 4 or 5 times as large. Overall, there’s a lot of potential in this game to make even top 100, but they need to make a few changes that make it bearable for a f2p player, along with a few bug fixes. ### 1/5 — Too many ads *2017-11-14, version 1.3.0* I’m literally (for real, no exaggeration) 5 minutes past the tutorial and have already been force fed 3 ads. I’m not talking about he optional ads you can choose to watch to get stuff, but the ones that just start playing automatically and interrupt your game. It wasn’t long ago that ads were only there so developers could make money on free games. When apps have in app purchases that usually takes the place of the ads. Or a flat fee is charged for the game and there are no in app purchases or ads. I have no objection to any of those configurations. But I’m not watching ads for you AND giving you my money through in app purchases, while still having no recourse to not watch ads. Just charge me a flat fee for the game and let me play in peace. The game experience is completely ruined. I deleted it pretty much immediately because I’m not doing that. Give me a game with no ads and I’ll play it. It doesn’t have to be free, but it has to be an option. ### 2/5 — Could be a great game - lots of issues though *2022-08-23, version 2.0.1* I just started and so far I really like this game. Although, the server issues with watching Adds is very annoying. Hard to progress without them. As well as not being able to sell any items - I try and it keeps spinning and then won’t even let me X out of it. I have to completely get out of the game. Without being able to sell items my storage is filling up! Hopefully they’ll fix all of that. Also, not being able to sell back a building isn’t very helpful. I ended up purchasing more firehouses than needed. The only option to get rid of it though is to delete it. If you are a human that loves city builders, you might be really picky. I love city builders and it took me over 3 years to find a good game I like. Thank you to the creators. If you play sim city, meet City Mania. In this game, you can run a city that you design, and it doesn’t take long to make materials and build houses. I opened this game yesterday for the first time and braced myself for a weird cartoony game. This is exactly what I have been looking for! Look game loft if you read this please make you able to make your own mayor and name him and have him live in the town hall or mayors mansion. I think it would be cool to have your own mayor and have to do challenges for him and be able to see other peoples mayors in other towns when you visit and have the player be if there mayor wants to be commerce sustainability etc. and be able to friend people and if you can then someone please tell me how. Anyone these aren’t complaints there just ideas to further update the game. But I had to leave the game when it said “there are important thing on your to do list”. But when I click back in the game it says to do that but it tells me I’ve unlocked a clock tower museum.... Thank you for this great little App Store gem! It is so much fun with all the funny characters and it does something that most games struggle to do. It keeps you interested for more than an hour. It has all the limited time events. All the updates with new exclusive buildings to gather. All the fun bizzies. One of the best things about it is that none of the wait times for production are very long, few taking over an hour. Nothing is ridiculously expensive, and, best of all, NO WAIT TIMES FOR BUILDINGS BEING BUILT OR UPGRADED! That is one of the best things about this game. It doesn’t make you bored with, “Your Level 1 Hut will be done in 6 days and 22 hours!” It’s just a celestial box descending from the sky to make a building appear out of a construction site! (Totally should try that in real life.) Thank you for this game, and I will definitely continue to play it! Also, just a side question. When you high-five a bizzie, three rings flash on his or her hand.
