## What is CivicsPass?

Two tests are in use right now — the app picks the right one for your filing date.

If you filed Form N-400 on or after October 20, 2025, USCIS gives you the 2025 civics test: 128 questions, the officer asks 20, you pass with 12. If you filed before that date, you take the 2008 test: 100 questions, up to 10 asked, pass with 6. Applicants who are 65+ with 20+ years as permanent residents study only the 20 starred questions and are asked 10. CivicsPass asks one question on first launch and adapts everything — the study pool, the mock interview length, the pass threshold — to your situation.
