I'm a student and need help with my reading, but this doesn't read nearly half of the words correctly! It's not even reading THE as one word but instead says T..H.. not helpful and Im very disappointed! ### 1/5 — App *2016-12-07* This app does not do a good job reading the text. I can't get it to read accurately, so there is no way my child with dyslexia can use it. **Developer response:** Hi, thanks for taking the time to write a review. The results of the OCR can be badly affected if the photo is too dark, too blurry or is skewed. It reads like a broke record and nothing that is on the page. No direction. It doesn't say the correct words that you highlighted!! After you downloaded it didn't give you directions on how to work on it either. There is so many things that are wrong with this app it is unbelievable!!! Save your money and don't get this app!! My students loved the fact they could scan in a test and not have to wait on me when I am working with other students, but I still have to clarify what the app says most of the time which is a disappointment. **Developer response:** Hello, Thank you for leaving feedback on our ScanPen app. We're disappointed to hear that you have had less-than-satisfactory results with the app. Sometimes this can be caused by the taken photos not being clear enough. When I’m out and about without my software connected to my PC I can use this app. which is rather useful when in a situation where I’m not understanding the words are the letter so very good useful app for your phone!!! ### 5/5 — tous les dyslexiques devraient avoir cette apps !!! *2017-02-20, version 1.4.4* c est magique!!! ### 4/5 — Good when it works *2024-02-11, version 4.0.11* Very often it is pronouncing words wrong , needs updating on recognition of different font styles and perhaps to be able to recognise handwriting would be really great. One thing that needs improving on is the ability to read handwriting and some of the "funkier" looking fonts. Looking forward to more improvement on this app. ### 3/5 — Really good but there's some bugs and glitches *2016-09-13, version 1.3.1* Really helpful and worth my money fully if these little bugs are fixed and the app is optimized the multiple page feature doesn't work and the camera freezes and I have to close app and then open to take another picture I have an iPhone 6s ### 3/5 — Not accurate enough but great functionality *2015-09-25* If you are looking for an app that reads an isolated word, Claro Scan Pen is perfect. It's the first app that finally feels like it was developed with a dyslexic reader in mind (not a translating app that a dyslexic can use.) Unfortunately with larger sections of text, I found that it was simply not as accurate as Prizmo.
