Learn as you play
Optional bidding hints suggest a bid directly from the bidding panel and explain the reasoning behind it. They can help new players understand how hand strength, jokers, long suits, partner signals and the current auction affect a bidding decision.

With Signal Bids enabled, computer players can use low opening bids to share information with their partner and can understand signals made by either their computer partner or the player.

Sacrifice Bids introduce more advanced endgame decisions. A computer player may deliberately overcall when an opponent’s current contract could win the game, but only when losing the sacrifice would keep its own team in contention.

How Bid Whist works
Players bid the number of books they expect their partnership to win above six, or pass. Bids can be Uptown, Downtown or No Trump. The winning bidder chooses the contract, takes the kitty, discards and then tries to win enough books with their partner.

For Uptown and Downtown contracts, the winning bidder sets the trump suit. For No Trump contracts, the winning bidder sets the direction. Players must follow suit if possible. If they cannot follow suit, they may play any card, including trump.

The bidding team scores when it makes its contract and loses points when it is set. The first team to reach the target score—or force its opponents down to the negative target—wins.

Built for comfortable play
Classic Bid Whist is designed for learning, quick games and repeated practice, with optional bidding hints, clear cards, adjustable speed, claim and AutoPlay options, stats tracking, trick review and completed-hand replays.

Play offline anytime — no internet, no sign-up, just Bid Whist.

### 3/5 — Pretty good…..but

*2026-06-12, version 3.1.5*

I don’t understand why my partner gets “in” and doesn’t play their best? It’s like playing by myself! My partner has ACES that are never played! Why? Something is wrong with the logic

### 5/5 — Fun game

*2026-04-22*

This is one of the better computerized versions of Bid Whist that I have played. The AI partners aren’t great but I enjoy the challenge of overcoming their lack of skill. Overall, an enjoyable experience!

### 5/5 — Game is nice!

*2026-03-31, version 3.0.7*

Enjoy game. Lots of ads

### 5/5 — Try it you will like it!

*2026-03-18, version 3.0.7*

Yes it looks plain but really it plays great! The ads aren’t horribly annoying.

### 5/5 — EXCELLENT

*2026-03-11, version 3.0.7*

Great way to sharpen your Bid Whist Skills#

### 4/5 — Fun!

*2026-03-08, version 3.0.7*

I’ve tried a few other bid whist apps and this is by far the best. The only gripe I have is that bid whist is a partner game and there are times that the partner takes you out. For instance, I played the little joker and my partner took me out with the big joker. At first I thought that was the only trump card they had left, but after they took me out with the big joker, they played another trump card. I’m like, WTF!!! Also, when you run out of trump, the typical rule is to signal to your partner where you might have a winning card, so for instance, if spades is trump and you play all of your spades, you might throw out a diamond, to signal to your partner that you likely have a winning card in diamonds; however, this game can’t/doesn’t pick up on those clues. All in all it’s a fun game to play, but sometimes, you have to keep the cards out of your partners hands and stop them from taking the lead because they’ll do dumb stuff, like cut over you, that will make you absolutely furious that will cost you the game. However, it’s a game and it’s a great free way to entertain yourself!

### 5/5 — Bid Whist, Lover

*2026-02-09*

I Love Playing This Game! I would Love to Be able to, Pick My Partner and My Opponents. I would like to be able to Play Against, My Family Members. We have been Playing Bid Whist, With Bicycle, Playing Cards, around Our Table for Over, 50 Years

### 5/5 — Love this game

*2026-02-07, version 3.0.7*

I love this game and I play it daily

### 4/5 — Novice

*2026-02-06, version 3.0.7*

My partner cuts me out all the time please change that algorithm

### 1/5 — Creator doesn’t understand the game

*2025-12-03*

This game will infuriate you if you’re a true vid whist player. The computer partner is programmed to play against you opposed to in unison. It always cuts you unnecessarily which often times cost your team the game and destroys your average. I’ve deleted this game once before for that same reason. I’m going to delete it again until that issue is resolved.
