It's simply a scanned version of the magazine. When viewed in landscape mode the pictures often don't even line up. Further, it often fails to download all of the pages as well. For instance, Nov 2016 ends at the start of the classified adds. The only reason it gets more than 1 star is because the content is good. I'll be buying the paper version only from now on. ### 3/5 — The magazine is great, the app is ok *2016-02-23* I've subscribed to both the digital and print versions of CB as its obvious the way things are going for print magazines. As I've been buying CB since the early 1980s I'm not quite ready to ditch the hard copy just yet. The digital version is very clear and crisp, with great colours. It's at least as good as the print version for clarity. However, the app is a pain to log into and in fact it took intervention by the publishers is the UK to set me up a useable app which I could actually access my subscription with. Very frustrating. Now I'm too nervous to log out. Not that I'd bother logging out of a magazine app anyway. ### 2/5 — Great Mag, Lousy App *2014-04-09* This is a great magazine crippled by an afterthought app: the navigation bar doesn't work, so if you want to return to your library, you have to exit the app & wait until it times out & defaults to library view. The pages frequently don't finish downloading, so they're blurry to the point of illegiblility. There is NO navigation from the table of contents-- if you want to read a particular article, you have to page to it, BUT DON'T PAGE TOO FAST, or the app will crash. You can forget about returning to the last page you read before you exited the app, also; you have to page from the cover back to it, BUT DON'T PAGE TOO FAST... Last, as of about a week ago, it takes days to download an issue, if it downloads at all. Two stars only because I like the mag. When I can actually read it. ### 3/5 — Not bad but hope will improve... *2013-07-27* Nearly as good as a hard copy but not quite...... Looks very good with official magazine content but advert quality of some quarter pages, all eighth pages (mainly illegible) and many classified photos are shocking (yes, I know that's to do with what you're given!). Hope requirements for content are increased so they are clearer in future. Quick link to contents, et c. at the bottom is good but would benefit from a search option (ideally over multiple issues) and quick links to pages/sections. Again, i understand that this is the difference between a digital duplicate and a genuine digital format. Had this app for some time with no problem. No it doesn’t work. Tried deleting and reinstalling, still doesn’t work. No response from Bauer either. Subscription cancelled. In short don’t bother with digital, it’s a con, get the paper magazine instead. **Developer response:** Hi qeepod! Go directly to Bauer the publisher Apple won’t recognize all my previous subscriptions or let me read it on more than one device. Do not subscribe! *2016-11-02* I cant log in because they didnt send me details on how to Now paid for a year and cant log in to view! ### 1/5 — Don't believe the hype *2014-02-14* Does not work on iPhone as promised. ### 1/5 — Download *2013-10-31* Re-occurrence of a problem relating to downloading that was reported in January 13. Magazine has stopped downloading at18%. Does this relate to the App or the provider? That's why a hard copy of the magazine remains the better option. Poor ### 1/5 — Very poor *2013-02-05* This app is hopeless. January edition would only partly download, and it was two weeks before iTunes finally sorted it out. Now February edition appears in screen to download for a few seconds before disappearing from view, so has not been possible to download. Not helped by iTunes and Bauer each trying to push responsibility for solving the problem onto each other. Can't believe this e-magazine is produced by the same company that produces the ipad version of Bike magazine, which is both excellent and reliable to download. Come on iTunes and Bauer. Sort it out. You've seen the reviews and had the support requests.
