As many other listeners have said, I was brought up by parents who listened to classical music ( KPFK, your sister station in LA) in the car and on the stereo in our home. Wonderful memories of my childhood. I love the hear the information that accompanies many of the pieces. Keep it up please. Music is so essential. It would stir an array of emotions in me. I recently moved to Massachusetts to be with my little granddaughter and would ache because I missed listening to KDFC. But then I discovered the app and I can’t tell you, how great it feels to listen to KDFC whenever I want, which is most hours every day. I’m thankful that the latter is still around - and better than ever. I prefer the “OG” KDFC stream in the morning and the Great Escape in the evening, as well the Christmas channel when the time is right (after Thanksgiving, of course). I appreciate how they have branched out with Arcade and Glissando. It doesn’t matter if the 5G signal is strong. The app just stops. The app drops its stream every few minutes now and it’s practically unusable. Why-O-why do developers don’t think and make UX poor when it used to be fine. 🤨 Tried their in-app “send feedback” and after filling in form, it NEVER send, i.e., just spinning spokes wheel. My WiFi works just fine as is streams… v5.10.0 NO AirPlay: saw this new version, tried it and STILL NO Airplay icon button, so canNOT change audio output source. -another star v5.9.0 no AirPlay icon, so cannot change audio output source. That’s disappointing. ### 1/5 — It was almost perfect, now . . . *2022-04-08* Two days ago I got a message, so early I had to get out of bed and find magnifier to read, asking if I wanted to update. I said no. It updated anyway. Now the logo is a blurry something I can’t see. Years ago I started listening to interesting music and commentary almost instantly on KDFC because I could see the logo/icon without having to get my glasses or a magnifier. The simple blue instrument on white said it all and I could see it plainly. You’ve taken the pleasure of early morning/late night listening away simply by changing your most definitive, visible ID. I wish you would change it back please. P.S. what appears as a test to see if pen has ink doesn’t have nearly the panache, either. ### 1/5 — New interface messed up *2018-03-28, version 4.0.1* KDFC is my fave classical station. However, latest Mar 2918 update is messed up on both iPad Air & iPhone 6: name of composer and piece are not showing and on iPad Air no ability to rotate; feedback form does not sent message to advise of problems! The music is wonderful, and I learn a lot from the different hosts about the composers and musicians. It feels like a very personal experience—not packaged and syndicated. There is little or no competition and I am so grateful for your presence on the worldwide web.There are other stations, but there is generally too much chatter or classical music is a “part-time” feature in the station’s programming. The voices of your “DJs” are similar to the choicest wines. I have also found the diversity of selections an education in the complexity and beauty of the music. It is a class in musicology that I missed in my education. I am also very impressed by the support KDFC garners from businesses large and small, as well as from individuals far and wide. I recommend the station to all of my friends. Although I am not wealthy, I donate within my means and I encourage other listeners to do the same. Looking forward to the holiday season accompanied by KDFC and the great staff, known and unknown.
