### 2/5 — Basic and no webapp available

*2026-05-07, version 8.6.2*

Loads of annoying ads. Highly irritating that you have to take up precious space on your phone to use it. They should make a webapp available.

### 2/5 — Clunky app

*2024-10-08, version 7.7.0*

UX average, has some errors, annoying to use.

### 4/5 — Great app for streamlining PTA comms

*2024-04-29, version 7.3.0*

Helps make event admin a breeze although a little clunky in places (not being able to adjust/turn off the questions associated with tickets is a bit annoying!)

Would be great if the platform was available in other languages!

### 4/5 — A really helpful free tool for PTAs

*2024-03-16, version 7.2.0*

We feel it’s really effective as a platform. There could be more options for maintaining confidentiality with the guest lists.

### 3/5 — It’s ok… but lots of quality of life issues that make you wonder if they actually use it themselves

*2024-03-02, version 7.2.0*

So the apps a nice concept and overall they’ve build something very useful. But this app makes me want to scream more than most. You have to login Every. Single. Time. And there’s no Face ID or Touch ID - it’s not that hard to add.
Notifications don’t take you to the right place. Etc etc. Just a frustrating experience to use really.

### 4/5 — Invaluable

*2024-01-22, version 7.0.0*

Really useful as both a parent and PTA committee member. The parent /child finder is often invaluable when you either can't remember parent names (but your child can tell you their child name) or to check which class /year a child /parent is in. As PTA we now use the events function for all events including ticket sales for fête workshops and activities. The biggest challenge is getting new parents to tailor their notifications so they don’t feel bombarded with too many (eg choosing to limit it to a weekly round up)
The support help is always super responsive when we have a query too, and they are always open to ideas to improve. Getting better steadily.

### 2/5 — Not a fan of the update.

*2022-11-21, version 5.7.0*

This app was great- both as a parent and a teacher it was a really lovely way to check in with what’s happening at school.
Since the update I have a few issues:
1) Now when creating a post, for some reason I can only select one photo at a time. If I want to upload lots of photos to show parents this now takes double the time.
2) The photos I upload crop out lots of the picture automatically! I’m not sure why this is, but it’s really annoying. I want the whole picture to be on the post, not just part of it! It means when uploading photos, they have to be the correct orientation or I miss off half the photo.
3) It seems to take much longer to create a post now! I’m not sure why, but again it is since the update.

I love this app and use it a lot, but I find the update really unhelpful in the ways mentioned above.

### 3/5 — Wokery vs. Tots

*2022-11-07, version 5.6.0*

Didn't really appreciate being asked to specify my pronouns, or being invited to say if both of my young sons had no gender. So a slightly offputting sign-up, unless you're into trans ideology for children, in which case you'll love it.

### 2/5 — App needs more work

*2022-11-04, version 5.6.0*

The presentation of the home page is not great. More user testing and feedback is needed! Announcements groups and events need equal prominence not defaulting to groups. Please can you make events easier to find. Please can you also address the link to event function? It works if you’re looking at Classlist online but not in the app. We’re disappointed that we can’t signpost people directly to community events this way.

### 2/5 — New version bug?

*2022-09-28*

I haven’t had this app for long, but since the new update my different message boards and pages just keep loading and never actually populate. I’m not able to ever read my new messages or respond. Help?

**Developer response:** Hello Designerjt1
We're terribly sorry to hear you're having trouble. We'd love to help you resolve that.
If you could please contact our help desk (link below), where we can follow up with you, we'll troubleshoot together to get your message boards back up asap. https://help.classlist.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

### 1/5 — Update is terrible

*2022-09-21*

More complaints. It says you have notifications when you don’t, and the little red number doesn’t go away. There has been a drastic decrease in usage at my child’s school since the update, and I’m on the PTA so I know how parents are using it. Do not understand the thought process in this. Go back to the old version!

**Developer response:** Hi busby19, we have a resolved a notification issue that occurred with the initial release. We'd love to hear more about any further issues you're experiencing so we can get to the bottom of it for you, - whether on the app, regarding parent usage or PTA.
Our help desk form is a good way to contact us. https://help.classlist.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

We also extend an invitation you to a user focus group to hear your thoughts, should you choose to join one. Let us know.
Kindest regards

### 2/5 — Latest update notification issues

*2022-09-19, version 5.0.0*

The latest updated has caused the app to permanently display 4 unread notifications, even after marking all as read within the app as well as logging out and back in. Seems no way to clear it.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Awful

*2025-02-24, version 8.0.0*

I have just deleted this app after months of complaining about irrelevant emails. It seems that the whole school can be messaged from one person who has lost a jumper. This is really not helpful for a working parent who already has too many emails!! I have asked for help to turn off notifications from the school, all of my notifications are off and I am still getting these irrelevant messages. Not a fan!

### 1/5 — A cause of stress for users

*2024-06-04, version 7.3.1*

1. Whenever I click on the photos it crashes - I hope a reinstall will do the trick.
2. Difficult to switch schools because my two children are in different schools that both use the app.
3. Everyone prefers WhatsApp - at a push I would prefer if Facebook made a separate encrypted schools section as they would probably do a better job.

### 1/5 — Not an user friendly app

*2024-04-22, version 7.3.0*

This app is rather painful to use. It is mainly an email like bullhorn as it does not have any additional useful function. It is moody in terms of logins, difficult to create separate groups, does not update properly. Not quite sure why schools would pay for it, a waste of valuable funds.

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2024-01-18, version 7.0.0*

The UX is poor, especially switching between the Admin and Parent views.

It’s really buggy and often requires a reinstall to overcome issues.

I wouldn’t go near the app but, unfortunately, it’s being imposed on us by the school my children go to.

It feels like it’s been designed and built by people who’ve never worked with mobile apps before.

### 1/5 — Keeps logging me out and then not recognising my email address

*2023-09-30, version 6.7.3*

I like the app when it works but frequently when I click a notification it opens the app and then I’m logged out. When I enter my credentials it tells me the email address is not recognised. I can log in on the web with the same credentials so I know it works. Advise from support it to remove the app and then reinstall which is not really a solution

### 1/5 — Good idea but doesn’t work well

*2023-06-13, version 6.6.0*

I have lost count of the number of times I have been logged out and find it difficult to get in again. Most of us have stopped using it and moved to WhatsApp instead

### 1/5 — Failing

*2023-05-22, version 6.5.0*

Since the app updated (21 May 23) it refuses to open , just remains on the dots as per the startup screen and never progresses

### 1/5 — Keeps logging me out.

*2022-12-15, version 5.8.1*

This app needs fixing quickly, otherwise we’ll have to seriously consider whether we continue our usage as a parent council.

Character limits are prohibitive.
Copying and pasting is problematic
Notifications remain active when they shouldn’t

### 1/5 — Glitchy beyond belief!

*2022-10-19, version 5.5.0*

What’s with all the glitches?!
Drop downs won’t load properly, runs very slowly (the only app on my phone that does) and links just don’t work! Very irritating as the idea is actually good!

### 1/5 — What have you done?

*2022-10-05, version 5.0.2*

The recent updates have made Classlist virtually unusable. The App now takes ages to open and is far less user-friendly than previous versions.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Giola

*2026-07-16, version 8.8.0*

Love the polling feature in the latest update
.

### 5/5 — Great app for school communication

*2026-03-10, version 8.6.0*

Classlist makes it very easy to stay connected with the school community. The app is simple, useful, and helps parents keep up with events, messages, and updates. Really helpful for staying informed.

### 5/5 — Thanks

*2026-03-08, version 8.6.0*

very helpful

### 5/5 — Easy to use and good value.

*2026-03-06, version 8.6.0*

Classlist is easy to administer and use by parent. The fees for ticket booking and raffles are good value.

### 5/5 — Useful app

*2026-03-06, version 8.6.0*

We’ve been using the app for a number of years. Great way to engage with you school community. Love the events and fundraising ability of the app too. Would recommend. We’d be lost without it

### 5/5 — Simple to use

*2026-03-02, version 8.6.0*

It is really effective and easy app

### 5/5 — Very useful for meeting new families

*2024-04-11, version 7.3.0*

I have found this app really helpful for knowing who is who at school as we were new, having joined a year after most people. It is great seeing both pupil and parent names in the class. I was able to reach out to parents of children living nearby to arrange some play dates to help my son make friends. Also I can see what is on at school in terms of events run by the parents association and other messages about what’s happening. It is a friendly way of getting to know others at school.

### 5/5 — Excelllent App

*2024-01-19*

As a PTA chair, this app saves so much time and makes running events super easy.

**Developer response:** Brilliant! Many thanks for sharing, Gemma434

### 5/5 — Awesome PTA app for tickets and comms

*2019-11-20, version 4.7.5*

Our PTA started using Classlist this term and we love it. Easy to take payments for events, which arrive in our bank account a few days later. Great way to communicate with other parents. Love it!!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

### 5/5 — Superb closed parent networking app

*2019-11-04, version 4.7.4*

We have used this at our school for 5 years with over 1000 parents registered. Fabulous closed network for easy, secure parent to parent networking.
