### 5/5 — Love this app!!

*2026-05-10, version 2.9*

If you are a potter this is an awesome way to keep track of your pieces. I use the free version currently which is more than enough for hobby potters but am upgrading soon to get the premium features. It’s not necessary just some nice features to have.

ETA - I have since upgraded to the paid version and I love it even more than the free one.

### 5/5 — Love but want to add friends!

*2026-04-30, version 2.9*

Can we follow friends??? Everything else is amazing

### 5/5 — Great App, AMAZING DEVELOPERS

*2026-04-24, version 2.9*

A fantastic studio companion for anyone starting pottery or a longterm hobbyist! A must for potters who can only get into the studio a few times a month. The app is wonderful, but my absolute favorite thing is how responsive the developers are to feedback and future improvements. Can’t wait to see what they add next and would happily pay more per month for more features. With a few more features the app will be a production potters best friend.

### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2026-04-24, version 2.9*

This is exactly what I was looking for to replace my paper notes. I use it all the time to look back at glaze combos to do again. It’s great to keep track of in progress and view your archive.

### 5/5 — perfect!!

*2026-04-23, version 2.9*

I just downloaded this and let me tell you it is already a lifesaver, being in a community studio means it’s so hard to track where all your things are! I love the categories so you can see exactly where your piece is and what needs to happen next. It’s also nice each piece has a notes section so you can write down any extra details or plans

### 5/5 — My Pottery Brain in App Form

*2026-04-18, version 2.9*

I recommend ClayLab to everyone at our studio! Keeping track of glazes, firing schedules, and works in progress can be overwhelming, but this app has officially become my "new memory." It’s intuitive, beautifully designed, and keeps me organized. I also had the pleasure of meeting the creators at NCECA, and hearing their story made me love the app even more. They are genuinely passionate about pottery and the community. A huge shoutout to Vicky for sharing a pro code with me. I am on the pro trial, but I plan to subscribe to support them. It’s worth every penny to support a team that cares this much about their users!!
Keep up the incredible work, ClayLab team! You’ve made a lifelong fan out of me.

### 5/5 — Amazing app

*2026-04-10, version 2.9*

I tell all the potters I know about this app. It helps me keep track of my ideas and my pieces at every stage, which is especially helpful in a community studio. Highly recommend

### 5/5 — I love you and your app!

*2026-03-29, version 2.9*

I met you and your partner at NCECA! Thank you so much for creating this! You guys are the best!

### 5/5 — I love this app

*2026-03-28, version 2.9*

This is one of my most used apps. Before, I would glaze my work and write down on sticky notes and take photos of it and my glazed piece.
Then I discovered ClayLab. Here you can record the glazes, have a list of your glazes and how it was glazed and be able to search your stuff by the glaze! By the clay body! By technique!
The app just keeps getting better. The new update with the archive feature is helpful. I want to record what I make even if I scrap it to be able to view my progress over time.
I was able to meet the creators at NCECA 2026 and I’m very much looking forward to the new ideas and updates coming.
I am hoping eventually there will be a cool feature like Spotify’s yearly recap deal but with pottery in the app - like “in 2026 you make 236 mugs and glazed 176 of them!” Etc.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-03-25, version 2.9*

This is a great app for keeping a record of your ceramics work

### 5/5 — A great tool for potters!

*2026-03-16, version 2.9*

I have been a lot more consistent about documenting steps and glazes since downloading this app. It works smoothly, and I love that the organization of the app lets me keep track with photos of what pieces I have in each stage.

### 5/5 — Fantastic App (with a solid set of free features)

*2026-03-07, version 2.9*

I really appreciate that you include a dolid set of features already in the free version, including the new options to keep not-so-spectacular projects tucked away in an archive folder, and start a dedicated folder to hold on to ideas & inspiration

The paid extra features add real value and I might upgrade soon

### 5/5 — Lucky to have found Clay Lab!

*2026-03-01, version 2.9*

Clay Lab keeps all my pieces organized and easy to see. Photos can be rearranged, items can be edited anytime, and new glazes, slips, etc. can be added as well as forming and firing methods. It’s like having everything in a digital photo album- easy to find, easy to see what you did. Highly recommend!

### 5/5 — Fantastic application for potters

*2026-02-28, version 2.9*

ClayLab has been a lifesaver for me to track all of my projects. A few weeks ago I emailed Support to ask about a new feature and they responded immediately letting me know that the feature I was looking for was in the next release. That release just came out and it’s exactly what I needed. I really appreciate that the creators listen so well to their community and create such useful apps.

### 5/5 — Built by potters, easy to communicate with!

*2026-02-26, version 2.9*

Just started using this app and it’s been great so far. The developers, Vickie and Lorenzo, are easy to communicate with via their Facebook page, so the whole thing feels very homegrown and authentic. I’m happy to pay for the premium tier and the $5 a month price tag seems very worth it.

### 5/5 — Just awesome

*2026-02-26, version 2.9*

This is an outstanding app. Super easy to use. Just enough customization available to make it even easier to use but not overwhelming. So much useful information in one place. I NEVER write reviews but this is an app I use daily and it has become an integral part of my work flow.

### 5/5 — Super helpful

*2026-02-22, version 2.9*

Never say “what glaze was that?” again!

### 5/5 — Very helpful!

*2026-02-04, version 2.8.1*

This app has gotten my work organized like never before.
No more “where did I jot down that note?”
Having fields to complete for each piece prompts me to enter details I might have otherwise neglected to record.
And with photos being stored in the app itself, my phone’s photo library is no longer a cluttered mess.
10 Stars!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Meh

*2026-04-14, version 2.9*

Love seeing this developer brigade other apps. Stumbled upon one of those and it’s quite a bit better. Don’t settle for ClayLab.

### 2/5 — Good app but sad to see it’s been subscription-ified like everything else

*2025-01-13, version 2.4*

This is a useful app and the best among the pottery apps that I had tried, but it was really disappointing to see in the latest update that functionality that had previously been available to all (such as glaze layering) have now been made a “premium” feature. And of course, it’s a subscription model. I don’t mind paying a once-off fair price for good apps - in fact I’d love to! Good creators deserve to be rewarded for their work. But this horrible trend of monthly subscriptions forever is something I do not agree with and will not support. I suppose I’ll be going back to a good old notebook, until predatory capitalism finds a way to charge a per page subscription for those 😐

### 2/5 — Worked and then it didn’t

*2024-06-21, version 2.0*

I really like the app but it could save my pictures or data after a few months. I reinstalled the app but that didn’t solve the problem. Too bad… I liked the app while it worked

### 3/5 — A lovely tool

*2026-08-17, version 2.9.1*

This app has made my life SO MUCH EASIER. It’s hugely helpful to be able to track everything, know what projects are in what states, and remember what I actually glazed stuff with. I recommend it to other folks at my studio all the time. And I appreciate that it’s free of AI nonsense (don’t need that anywhere near my creative pursuits!) and just focuses on what you actually need to stay organized as a potter.

Opening it up makes me immediately feel centered and excited. All of my ideas and my accomplishments and everything in one place, the next steps clear. Excellent tool to strip away the tedious parts of keeping track of stuff so you can just focus on being creative!

### 3/5 — The new Clay Lab

*2024-09-08*

I was able to enjoy a free Claylab option for a while. As a hobby potter it was very beneficial to be able to list glazes and layers. After an update, you cannot add as many layers as before. With every option you choose it becomes Premium for 5,99 per month. I find this very expensive and the updated version is no longer helpful for me. Very disappointed about it, since I now have to redo my whole bunch in another app or on paper.

### 3/5 — Bummer lost my files

*2024-08-28, version 2.1*

Really great concept. But…When my phone was repaired and I reloaded app all my pieces were gone. This was super sad.

### 3/5 — 2.0 Subscription model release

*2024-07-07, version 2.1*

I’m a fan of the features within the 2.0 release, however I don’t approve of the subscription model and having basic app features locked behind a subscription paywall.

I’d be happy to pay a one time fee to buy the current and all future app releases, or depending on price paying once for specific features a la carte… but the subscription model as a hobbyist only makes financial sense to me if it was paying for data backup & cloud hosting.

### 3/5 — Love this app, disappointed with the subscription model

*2024-06-20*

I love the functionality of this app, it has made my process much easier to follow and recreate! Absolutely invaluable for keeping track of where pieces are while firing in a community studio.

However, I am very disappointed with the choice to use a subscription model with the latest update. The new features added seem like a significant improvement and reflect what the community was asking for, which is great work from the devs! I would have much preferred a one-time payment to access the broader functionality of the app. With something like a pottery app where I’ll be using it more intermittently as a hobby potter, a monthly subscription does not make sense for me financially. I would be much more interested if it was a one time payment, even if that payment was on the higher end of app pricing.

**Developer response:** Hi Little Dishes Crafts,
Thank you for sharing your feedback! We're glad to hear that the app has been so helpful for your process and in managing your pieces at the studio!

And we do appreciate your thoughts regarding the subscription model. Our goal with the subscription is to continually support and improve the app, ensuring we can provide ongoing updates and new features based on community feedback. However, we understand that a one-time payment option might be more suitable for some users, especially hobbyists like yourself.

We'd genuinely love to hear more about your thoughts on this. Please feel free reach out to us at [support email address] so we can discuss your suggestions and explore potential future pricing options together.

Thanks again.

### 3/5 — OK but need to sort out date format

*2024-02-06, version 1.7.1*

Please update to allow for non US date formats as most of the world don’t use this format it needs to be changed asap.

### 3/5 — Almost great

*2023-06-03, version 1.5.1*

Love a lot about this app, but there are a couple big things missing.
What’s to LOVE:
• track all the fields you can track; clay body, form, dimensions, weight
• track the timing and places for the phases; thrown, trimmed, bisque,
• keeps pieces grouped by where they are in phases.
• image uploads (nit sure if there’s a limited number but I’ve uploaded several for one)
• piece name and ability to change it.

What are the MISSES:
• Most potters will throw several pieces at once, but you have to record all info one at a time. I’d like to choose 6 pieces, and add the claybody, throw/trim date and locations for all of them at once (maybe even form, glaze and other fields if they are the same)
• if you have recorded a later phase date/location you cannot go back and record or change/correct a previous phase without losing the info of the later phases. Annoying.
• No export. It would be so great to be able to export a printable excel or pdf with an image and the key info for the whole archive so I can see it all at once.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Fantastic. Love it!

*2026-08-17, version 2.9.1*

User-friendly. Build by people who clearly understand pottery.

### 5/5 — I recommend to all my potter friends

*2026-08-11, version 2.9.1*

This app is phenomenal. I have been doing pottery for a couple years and started on the app a year ago after trying to do a google sheet tracker unreliably. I can add our members studio custom glazes, notes, ideate, and keep track of all the stages in photograph form to keep learning. Bonus: I no longer forget what’s on the group studio shelf now for several months! lol. Definitely fantastic; id pay for the app.

### 5/5 — A must have for a novice potter

*2026-07-26, version 2.9.1*

Perfect app for a beginner. Helps keep track of everything you need, without being overwhelmed.

### 5/5 — ClayLab is a Lifesaver

*2026-07-01, version 2.9.1*

OK, well maybe it didn't save my life but it does save my sanity! This is the only way I can keep what pieces I have made, what stage they are in, what glazes are used, you name it. It is a super functional, easy to use, amazing app for potters. I highly recommend.

### 5/5 — Excellent and well structured app

*2026-07-01, version 2.9.1*

A pleasure to use, this app makes keeping track of the clay bodies, glaze and firing techniques for each piece really straightforward. Highly recommend!

### 5/5 — This ROCKS

*2026-06-30, version 2.9.1*

Currently obsessed with this app. So easy to track my pieces and all labels/tags are 100% customizable to my studio & process! Absolutely worth the download and I will be an avid user for sure

### 5/5 — Clay lab is the best!!'

*2026-06-16, version 2.9*

Great app. Anyone serious about keeping track of pottery works needs this app. Everyone at our studio asked how I keep track of all my pieces from bisque shelf to final product. It is a must have.

### 5/5 — Best app!!

*2026-06-12, version 2.9*

This app has saved me from completely forgetting my pieces. It’s easy to use and is the best app I’ve found for clay tracking

### 5/5 — Best app for potters!

*2026-06-03, version 2.9*

First review I leave for an app because they are worth it! They really put in so much work and add so much value to the pottery community. Perfect for the potter who likes to be organized and plan ahead. Highly recommend!

### 5/5 — Love it, love it, love it!

*2026-05-31, version 2.9*

This app is the bomb!!!

It keeps me organized and able to replicate results that I’ve liked. You know when somebody says “what glaze combination did you use?”, a quick look at my ClayLab app and voila, the answer! I never have to be unsure (or remember-ha).

Although still unable to back up to any cloud, you can now download the data and back up to another source like Dropbox. Perfect interim solution.

The cost of the app is well worth the headache of not being able to keep up with what you’ve done. Don’t delay! Get ClayLab now.
