### 2/5 — Big problems

*2026-05-27, version 3.0.50*

This was good at the beginning but I discovered that it deletes emails that I didn’t authorize to be deleted! This is a huge problem. I am canceling it.

### 1/5 — Not working

*2026-02-06, version 3.0.44*

I was able to delete mail from inbox (after paying for a month subscription) but after that the app does nothing. I am unable to delete items from trash, and all the app does now is freeze up

### 1/5 — Would give 0 stars if I could

*2026-01-29, version 3.0.44*

Accidentally purchased the Clean Email annual plan (£52.99) via Face ID and reported it to Apple within 30 minutes. I had not connected a single email account, run a scan, or used any features. The service was completely unused.

Despite this, my refund request was refused. My appeal was refused. Even my bank dispute was rejected. The developer says they cannot refund because Apple controls payments, and Apple simply hides behind policy instead of using common sense.

Charging people for a service they never accessed and then refusing a refund is unacceptable. Especially when the mistake is reported immediately and there is clear proof nothing was used.

The app itself may work, but the billing and support experience is terrible. Be very careful with Face ID purchases because once the money is gone, nobody wants to help.

Avoid unless you are 100% certain you want to pay and are happy taking the risk.

### 2/5 — Be prepared to pay!

*2026-01-27, version 3.0.43*

This app will do very little unless you are willing to pay for the upgrade.

### 1/5 — Absolutely Bloody Awful - use with caution

*2026-01-21, version 3.0.43*

I used this App to clean up my old unread messages and to unsubscribe from specific senders. I selected them manually and did not set up any rules since this seemed overly complicated and potentially dangerous. Unknown to me while cleaning up my Unread messages a blanket rule was created to delete ALL Unread message. This resulted in me not receiving any emails from one of my email accounts for the last 2 weeks. All Unread messages so all new messages were automatically deleted. This resulted in potentially loss of earnings and other important information. It’s also very pricy. If it has been possible to give 0 stars I would have.
Use with caution.

### 1/5 — Nightmare

*2026-01-14, version 3.0.43*

This app is an nightmare. First of all, i clicked on free trial and I still got charged the full price immediately. Secondly, the app keeps freezing for me and I can’t even get it to work properly. I still have a million emails that annoy me every day and I’ve unsubscribed and still continue to get them. Thirdly, the customer service sucks. They don’t care what you say they are no help whatsoever. I rarely ever write reviews but had to make an exception here to hopefully save someone some time and money. No clue how they have any good reviews at all.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t do much in the free version

*2026-01-10, version 3.0.43*

Everything useful requires a paid subscription

### 1/5 — Can’t access

*2025-12-17, version 3.0.42*

Worked for a day and now is somehow linked to a yahoo login. Does yahoo still exist? Get a yahoo error message so no way to log in and use app. No customer service to help. Will just call credit card to remove charge. Find another solution / vendor but the concept is good.

### 1/5 — Waste of Money

*2025-11-27, version 3.0.40*

App cleans up in server but those changes will not show through email app unless you change email protocol. Not an easy, or in some cases possible, lift so you are left with changes at the server level but you don’t see them where you truly access your email. What a waste. I could have saved my money as spent the extra time manually cleaning my inboxes.

### 1/5 — Horrible App

*2025-11-16, version 3.0.40*

This thing caused no end of trouble with my local provider email and I couldn’t get rid of that email account no matter what I did. Even deleting and reinstalling the app and only adding the other email account, it still brought back the other one. Royal pain.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not a free app, not even a little bit

*2026-08-23, version 3.0.53*

You cannot do anything without signing a 14 day trial

### 1/5 — App is stoopid

*2026-08-04, version 3.0.52*

It can’t even size the “I’m not a robot” screen so I can sign in…

Junk.

### 1/5 — Clean email inbox cleaner

*2026-08-04, version 3.0.52*

I paid the upgrade to delete additional emails and wouldn’t allow me. Wanted me to upgrade further but why if only one account. I cancelled the subscription and lost 29.99 for something that didn’t provide what it said it would. Very disappointed.

### 1/5 — Does not block adverts

*2026-07-24, version 3.0.52*

The ONLY reason I purchased this was to block adverts. Using the “from domain” option has no effect. I’m applying for a refund.

### 1/5 — UGH

*2026-06-23, version 3.0.50*

Too often the App won’t open. Last two days it hasn’t opened at all.

### 1/5 — Not persistent

*2026-05-29, version 3.0.50*

After you purchase a subscription for 10 accounts , when you enter and account it disappears at next login and have to reenter the email address. If you have 2 accounts, then you have to do it twice. Very annoying

### 1/5 — Inutile

*2026-05-03*

T’installes, ça te demande de payer quand tu veux sup tes mails, puis après tu désinstalles ça t’envoie des mails de spam alors que c’est littéralement censé t’aider à nettoyer ta boîte mail. MDR.

### 1/5 — Useless app if you don’t pay for it

*2026-04-16, version 3.0.46*

If you pay for it, it would be a really useful swap, but pretty much anything that they allow you to do without paying for it doesn’t really help much stuff you could do on your own through email app

Also they subscribe you to their emails lol so all I got from this app was a new subscription in my email

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2026-04-01, version 3.0.46*

I’m extremely disappointed with this app. What used to be a straightforward purchase has turned into a cash grab. Features that were originally included when I bought the app are now locked behind a “premium” subscription, and I’ve started getting charged for things that were once free. This feels incredibly misleading and unfair. If I paid for the app, I should not be forced into ongoing payments just to keep using the same basic features. It’s a classic bait-and-switch—get users in, then slowly take away functionality unless they pay more.
The worst part is there was no clear communication or justification for these changes. Just sudden charges and reduced access. That’s not how you treat paying customers. I would not recommend this app to anyone unless you’re okay with being nickel-and-dimed for features you already paid for. Very frustrating experience.

### 1/5 — I need immediate help

*2026-02-13, version 3.0.44*

I bought a monthly subscription for 13.49 for 1 email, then I bought for 5 email 26.99 but they never refunded me the 13.49 they owed me back! It’s not been put back in my bank but Apple says REFUND

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Exactly what I needed .......

*2026-07-29, version 3.0.52*

This is extremely early days as I only downloaded and made the annual sub an hour or so back. But I was directed toit by my best friend Arty (Google AI!) and it does one thing that I have been looking for. I am getting faro too much shoestring generated spam. That's where the same spam arrives dozens of times with sender email changes. So whilst you can block a sender you can't block it when they change the send email address. So this app allows you to block all senders with the subject string eg "second glazing" or whatever. It does it all in the background. I can do a filter on my email server but it is a palaver. This works with my mail app and does that. I'm not certain it's clear from the description hence my detail!

### 5/5 — Cleaning my mail

*2026-06-30, version 3.0.50*

I’m grateful to have the ability to remove unwanted emails and it saves so much time I’ve been needing to do this admin

### 5/5 — Saved my life

*2026-06-30, version 3.0.50*

After having a baby, my time was limited and I struggled to maintain my email. Over a year later and I had tens of thousands of emails, which I thought I could ignore, but between the spam were important emails I was missing. A couple of days with this app and minimal effort from me, my inbox is clear, the spam is thinned out and everything is so much more manageable. It seems small, but cleaning up my email was such a game-changer for me.

### 5/5 — BEST EMAIL APP EVER

*2026-03-29, version 3.0.46*

IT DELETED 17,000 EMAILS IN AN HOUR IT DIVIDES ALL THE EMAILS INTO CATEGORIES AND ITS EASY TO DISCERN WHAT TO DELETE DO MONTHLY 9.99!

### 5/5 — Fabulous app

*2026-01-24, version 3.0.43*

I have been using this app for one full year. It takes me 30 seconds each day per email to review and take actions. Results in a nice clean email inbox with junk etc.
I give it 11 out of 10. Fantastic!!!

### 5/5 — Louis

*2026-01-17, version 3.0.43*

Good

### 5/5 — Amazing Service

*2026-01-01, version 3.0.43*

I just downloaded it but so far so good. I was able to login seamlessly I’ll let you know in a few weeks once I use this app for a little bit longer.

### 5/5 — 2026 out with the old, and manage the new!

*2025-12-31, version 3.0.43*

Unfortunately, email platforms are designed for the novice! Clean Email allows me to manage my many email accounts!

### 5/5 — For $29.99 It’s A Steal

*2025-12-03, version 3.0.40*

For context: I couldn't buy more storage because my original Apple ID was blocked from purchases. I had to create a new one and use the old just for email.
I was originally searching for Informed Delivery emails, but iOS Mail wouldn't pull all of them from the server. I've had this Apple ID since 2009, and the only way to get that far back was through the mail client which Apple doesn’t let you filter for cleaning storage probably because they want you to buy more except I couldn’t because they blocked my Apple ID for fraud that wasn’t my fault.

### 5/5 — I can finally breathe 🧘

*2025-11-29, version 3.0.40*

Emails have been a deep source of stress for me for most of the years of my life. Honestly, I had given up on emails and told people that I’m not an email person. Yeah, I was the guy that literally had 20,000 emails unread. It just seemed like this impossible, unconquerable and never ending task. So I gave up.

Then I found clean email. I am so deeply grateful for tools like this. It actually makes me tear 🥺up writing this because, I now feel like I can do this. I can actually do this now. I can tackle the email battle and succeed now because I have help.

Thank you all so much for this beautiful work that you are doing. It is definitely a game changer and life changing for me.
