It just works and that’s pretty refreshing these days. However, to the developer: when opening a cleaned link in browser I noticed it goes straight to Safari and this can’t be changed. I use Chrome as my default browser—never touch Safari. Being able to select your browser, or bare minimum have the app use the browser the user has selected as their “default browser” in their iPhone settings seems like a simple update/implementation. My two cents! **Developer response:** Thanks for the review! For privacy reasons, iOS does not provide an API for apps to find out what the users' default browser is. The latest version of the app (1.0.11), now detects if Chrome is installed on the device and adds a "Open in Chrome" button. ### 5/5 — Fantastic app *2025-11-19* I really enjoy the service this app provides. Makes it very easy to strip identifying parameters out of URLs and helps decipher URL shortener links. I also use their shortcut as one of the widgets on my Lock screen to read QR codes from the camera, and the app works very well in this regard too. Bug: When editing a cleaned URL, entering a space shows "%20" and pressing Enter shows "%0A". After that, entering spaces, line breaks, or deletions causes unexpected characters to appear instead of behaving normally. Possible bug: When both the original URL and the cleaned URL are displayed in the app, pressing the paste button and pasting a new URL updates only the original URL — the cleaned URL does not appear. It does exactly what it says and nothing else: cleaning links, and automatically copying the cleaned link so you can maximize productivity. You can set it to monitor your clipboard and automatically clean any links that it comes across. Was exactly what I was looking for. *2025-09-10* I was getting tired of stripping long UTMs from news and other app links when posting on discord. At first this app seemed like it was just for QR Codes (which is also something that’s always bothered me with iPhone) but it also lets you grab copy links from apps and websites and quickly strip the parameters. Only thing that could be better is if it had the option to put the link in the clipboard in one click, but perhaps iOS prevents that? But this is still way quicker, easier and more accurate than trying to delete them manually every time. And it’s free, they don’t track you or steal your data like almost every other app seems to want to do these days. It’s a privacy advocates dream app! Thank you to the devs! ### 5/5 — Works great. I searched and saw this one but it didn’t mention that it has a feature to automatically monitor your clipboard and automatically clean links! This is your killer feature and I would add an image preview for it! Instead of just getting rid of the question mark and everything after, it gives a weird spammy ad link. I’ll update my review once that’s fixed, because it’s a really irritating bug. ### 3/5 — Great until it isn’t *2026-04-02* This app is not suitable for devs. More often than not, it gets in your way and modifies your clipboard content the way you don’t want it to. **Developer response:** Thanks for the review and the feedback. The clipboard watcher is an optional feature in the macOS version of the app and cleaning up text on clipboard is yet another optional feature under it. Based on your feedback, we've made changes to the "Clean Copied Text" feature to ignore code on the macOS pasteboard in the latest update (1.0.14). I hope that addresses the issue. However, could you please look into a few bugs on iOS? (I couldn’t find a feedback form in-app) 1) the share sheet UI can leave in xpid parameters in Amazon 2) the Safari extension often doesn’t work. After pressing the button, the UI just flashes but there’s no message indicating any links were cleaned—which can be confirmed by inspecting hyperlinks on the page. This can still attribute a click to you if the original URL was targeted or shared only to you. **Developer response:** Thanks for the thoughtful feedback. You’re right that some short links require a network request to resolve. Clean Links only does that when the final destination cannot be determined from the URL alone, which is common with URL shorteners and some ad-network redirects. Those requests go directly from your device to the destination, not through our servers, and we do not log the links you clean. We also use isolated requests with no persisted cookies or browsing history, and we strip tracking parameters before and after redirects. We mention this in our FAQ under “Is this really local?” Edit: Based on your feedback, we've added an "Allow network requests" toggle in the app settings and for shortcuts. Seul les comptes enregistrés en devient l’outil de suivis pour la part commerciale. Clean Links nous l’apporte au travers de tout nos OS. Coupant ainsi la route aux espions commerciaux utile aux criblage mafieux. Un Web libre ou la valeur commercial n’en devient plus le maitre mot. Au passage ont peut repenser à tout les pages web imprimé en PDF avec des liens sans doute encore plausiblement actifs. Mais avec cette application j’en comprends que les liens de suivis s’en trouve nettoyé avant l’ouverture.
