### 5/5 — Best app for lifting

### 5/5 — Great App and Customer Support

*2019-05-21*

If you’re looking for a great weight lifting app then this is the one you want.
Simple to set up and customize routines, make adjustments after a routine is created and track progress like PRs etc.

Pairs with Apple Health and has a solid Apple Watch app as well.

As a plus, the app developer is 5 STARS for customer support. I recently sent him a question about an update and received a near immediate reply that fully answered my questions.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for the generous review! Never hesitate to reach out if you ever need help with anything in the app 👍🏼

### 5/5 — App coach

*2019-04-22*

This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you.

**Developer response:** Stoked you’re enjoying the app!

### 5/5 — Restore Feature & Weight Error

*2019-04-03, version 1.5.8*

Hello

1- In Settings it allows me to Export my Data which is good.

But if my App is deleted - how do I import the data back into the App ?

Could you add a Restore Data feature so that Users can Import Data into App so they dont have to start from scratch again.

2- In Settings where it says Current Weight it shows as 146kg when I am 65kg.

Even though I have tried to change this using the settings and selected my true weight - App still shows 146kg.

Why is this ?

Thanks

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2019-03-07*

The best workout app around. No need to search longer you can get all you want with this app. Great job!

### 5/5 — Great work! Love it—just needs a few things.

*2019-02-26, version 1.5.5*

I use the BodySpace app and this has some features that are better than that but it's still missing some key features.

1. Generic pictures of the workouts. I don't want to have to memorize what each workout is. When I’m at the gym, a clear picture says 1,000 words, especially when I’m tired.

2. It'd be nice if it had BodyBuilding.com workout plans that you could choose to schedule. Some of their workouts are really well-built and that's the biggest thing holding me back from switching to CleanLift right now.

3. It'd be nice if the rest timer had some sort of countdown or small sound that would let you know your rest period is over and encourage you to keep working out. It’s easy to lose track of time, but an audio reminder helps a lot.

4. If you take a picture in the app, you want to save it with the day to keep track of progress. That was my thought at least.

5. I searched in the app for a place to send you direct feedback and improvements but I didn't find one. That would be helpful. Then I can send you feedback as I continually use the app. I didn't want to include all these thoughts in a rating or post them on Instagram either.

6. I love the Apple Watch functionality. That is a feature that BodySpace is missing. The music is another win. Well done!

7. Another feature that would be amazing (no one has done this that I'm aware of) is to be able to compete or compare with friends. This would be game changing for me. BodyBuilding.com workout plans would be the first request, but this would be #2. Apple is starting to get there, but the competitions are still weak. If this allowed you to more directly compete with friends and see how much you're lifting in comparison to them each day, etc, that would be amazing. I'm imagining getting notifications when they complete a workout just like Apple Health does but with more in-depth analytics and comparisons.

8. This one would come after all the above requests, but tracking weight over time would be nice. It’d be cool if it would connect to a smart scale so you could track your weight every day and watch those trends over time. That’d help when you set specific fitness goals.

I would use that app every day when I work out. I would also push others to get it as well. Again, right now the biggest thing holding me back is that it doesn’t have BodyBuilding.com workout plans to follow.

One thing that excited me about the app is how close it is to being the app I’ve been waiting for! But it also scared me because it’s free and that made me concerned that development of the app won’t continue and it’ll lose quality over time, rather than improve. Are there clear plans for monetization? I love the fact that it’s free and you probably wouldn’t have gotten me to use it if it weren’t free (because BodySpace is free), but it does worry me that it’ll be abandoned in the future.

### 5/5 — Clean, simple, easy-to-use, intuitive

*2019-01-02*

Workout and lifting apps ways end up complicated and poorly maintained. I just found Cleanlift and I feel like my life has changed. This is exactly what I've been looking for after having been frustrated by other logging apps for so long. Love, love, love it!

**Developer response:** I’m so glad you’ve found the app to be helpful! Hoping to make it even better in 2019 👍🏼. Thanks so much for the kind review!

### 5/5 — It’s clean!!

*2018-11-20*

Fantastic for free!!!! I track all my basics!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2018-11-19*

Very nice design, easy to use and intuitive. I appreciate the encouraging notifications after you finish a workout. 🏋️‍♂️

### 4/5 — Good but could use a feature to save workouts.

*2018-10-03*

It’s a good app and does what it says for sure. There are some things that I’d really like to see in it. Specifically I’d like to be able to have saved workout templates, ideally something you could include rep ranges in. So you could add say the PHAT or PHUL workouts to the app and see your goal rep range and then log actual reps completed. This way you could easily track when it’s time to increase weight. Having to individually add each exercise for every workout is a bit much.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback! We actually just released an update with the Routines feature that lets you save and reuse workouts. Hopefully that helps!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Clean Luft

*2024-05-16*

Poor user interface that leads to multiple issues.

**Developer response:** Sorry the app didn’t work out for you, please feel free to be more specific about your issues via an app feedback submission via the CleanLift settings menu -> Send Feedback. I’d love to help if I can.

### 1/5 — Clean Luft

*2024-05-15*

Poor user interface that leads to multiple issues.

### 1/5 — Watch compatibility

*2022-05-01, version 2.3.2*

Why when I start a workout on the phone it doesn’t show on the app if I open it on my watch. It basically asks me to start a completely different workout as though there is no connection. It’s nothing to do with cloud etc cause I press the watch icon in the app which seems to do nothing either.

It’s a good app but you need to improve the compatibility with Apple Watch massively because it’s unique selling point is based on it being able to work through both but only if you pay. So if we lay we expect a product that works!

### 1/5 — Shuts automatically

*2022-02-27*

App was great for a long time, new update causes app to freeze and close upon opening. Cannot open anymore, whilst still on a paid subscription.

### 1/5 — Can’t start workout on watch

*2022-01-03*

As far as I can tell, the watch app (which you must pay to use) does not allow a training session to be started and stopped. A session must be started on the phone, and then sets can be logged on the watch. Which means I must bring my phone to the gym. Which means the watch app adds very little extra value. Which means I should not be paying for it. Please let me know if I have missed something?

**Developer response:** You definitely can start an activity session solely from the watch! Sorry if it wasn’t easy to find, but at the top of the screen in an active workout on the watch app, you should see a “flame” icon button. Tapping that will bring to a screen that allows you to start an activity session. Please email me feedback (and provide your email for response) from the Settings page of the iOS app if you are still having issues!

### 2/5 — App Crash

*2022-02-28*

Used this app for 3 years and was great. It crashed this morning and I lost all records of my workouts since I started, so I’m lucky I have backups in other apps. Not using this app again.

### 2/5 — Keeps force closing

*2022-02-25*

App has been amazing until today. Every time I try and open it, it immediately closes.

### 3/5 — Watch use only via subscription 😠

*2020-10-14, version 2.2.4*

The app itself is good for recording weight workouts and I really like the superset option. You can record new or variations of exercises which is good. Its handy for those exercises that have about 6 different names but is actually all the same exercise like tricep extensions or push downs or rope pushdowns or whatever you want to call it. Tomato/Tomarto.

I downloaded it as I was looking for a free app to work with Apple Watch but unfortunately you need to subscribe in order for it to work and record on the watch. So for that reason it has 3 stars and I’m out. Sorry.

Good app for non apple watch users thou

### 3/5 — Watch integration is infuriating

*2020-08-26, version 2.1.13*

Like the app overall, but it’s incredibly inconsistent in syncing active workouts to my Apple Watch. I’ve tried reinstall on both phone and watch without any improvement. Not sure if I’ll stick with it.

### 4/5 — Clean and easy to use!

*2018-12-27*

Would be a 5 star app if would integrate with Health Kit and if you could actually log from the watch app.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Very impressed

*2024-08-23*

I am so glad to have free access to a planned workout since that’s my least favorite part of getting in the gym. Having it lined out with the ability to track my stats and progress for FREE is incredible. I’ve been paying $25/ month for this on another app. What a great resource.

**Developer response:** That’s incredible! It makes me so happy to hear you’re enjoying the app.

### 5/5 — Amazing app to use

*2024-05-06*

Great for tracking my workouts. Would recommend to anyone who works out regularly - David R

### 5/5 — Lives up to the name!

*2021-09-23*

Just installed this today and used it for some front squats and front rack holds.

The interface is very *clean* and intuitive. At first I couldn’t figure out how to set the rest timer, but it’s built in and popped up after I logged my first set. I found the configuration setting later.

Also the companion watch app is great and worth the subscription (but I wish the rest timer would vibrate on my wrist and not just the phone).

Great app!

### 5/5 — Beast Mode

*2021-06-03*

CleanLift helps me stay organized when working out... so all my energy can be focus on the reps.

### 5/5 — Great app for tracking workouts!

*2020-09-08, version 2.1.14*

I’ve been using the app for the last few weeks, it has a really good interface that makes tracking set/reps very easy.

I also really like the watch app, it comes in handy if you don’t want to take your phone into the gym.

Would recommend to any gym goers who want to track their workouts!

### 5/5 — A Great App to Cover the Bases

*2019-12-05*

I switched to this app after I became dissatisfied with others that were available.

I have highly enjoyed using this app in the brief time I’ve had it.

I enjoyed it even before the recent 2.0 update, and the update proved to me that the app is taken seriously by the developer and is always innovating.

I have high expectations for this app moving forward.

If you want a simple, user friendly app to track your gym workouts, this app should do you just fine.

Weights, machines, or cardio, it should have you covered!

See y’all at the gym!

**Developer response:** I’m stoked that CleanLift has been good for you, thanks for the review! Find my email in Settings and let me know if you ever have an issue or idea to make it better for you 👍🏼

### 5/5 — Superb

*2019-11-11, version 2.0.1*

Can't say enough good things about this app. Developer is responsive and listens to community requests, app looks and works beautifully, really has changed the game for workout tracking for me.

### 5/5 — Very efficient

*2019-09-12*

Very efficient app with simple IU👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

### 5/5 — Yep!

*2019-09-06*

No question I picked the right app...not only is the app solid, updates timely, but Luke is awesome and responsive to emails. Thanks, Luke.

**Developer response:** Thanks so much for the review! CleanLift wouldn’t be what it is without users like you that email when there is a problem or when something could be better, so thank you 🙏🏼

### 5/5 — Great App, Simple to use, and looks cool.

*2019-07-16*

This App has been great. I’ve been using CleanLift for about 2 weeks and I really can’t see myself using anything else for working out. Keeps track of things like your PRs, and has cool features for the Apple Watch. I really like the camera/video feature as well, it’s a cool way to show your workout to your social media pages.

**Developer response:** You’re the man Jmac! Thanks for the review!
