### 2/5 — Age Issues

*2025-11-06, version 1.0*

Great app and plenty of useful information but Jesus please just update it!

### 3/5 — Devon!!!!!

*2025-08-04, version 1.0*

You what if I want Devon on my home page I would move there. I want to be able to put my own home location. For that mistake Im deleting the app!!! Devon!!!!!

### 4/5 — Works

*2025-05-08, version 1.0*

But need slight refinement app forgets the moon or doesn’t show the is
App has potential but lacks good reporting and standard features

### 2/5 — The moon

*2025-04-06, version 1.0*

Have you forgotten the moon at my location (33947) it’s out and above me but the the app says no moon tonight and how come the home button is not my location???
App has potential but lacks good reporting and standard features

### 3/5 — Needs work

*2025-02-09*

I love the format, but the app crashes constantly on my iphone and like other users I am frustrated that I cannot easily enter latitude and longitude. Searching for observatories in remote locations is difficult. Too bad since the web browser version is quite nice.

### 3/5 — Age Issues

*2024-12-15, version 1.0*

Please update this app for newer phones!

### 3/5 — Devon

*2024-09-19, version 1.0*

Why do I see Devon Everytime I open this app, how vain is the developer? I imagine the reviews about bad cloud data is because it is set to Devon Everytime it opens…

### 2/5 — Good App but has critical issue

*2024-09-06, version 1.0*

The forecasts are accurate, but I cannot input any negative value in longitude. Please fix and it will be a perfect App.

### 2/5 — BUG: Longitude cannot be edited for added locations

*2024-08-09, version 1.0*

Forecast is generally reliable. Adding a new observing location is broken, as longitude cannot be edited. This seems a simple fix that would add two stars (no pun intended) in my estimation.

### 3/5 — Would be great with simple fixes

*2024-08-06, version 1.0*

Potentially interesting app but made difficult to use due to not being able to manually enter/edit a location longitude that contains a - symbol plus it always defaults the location to Devon.

Sort these and the ratings will shoot up.

### 3/5 — NO LONGER ACCURATE

*2024-03-02, version 1.0*

Hi there folks.

I used to use Clear Outside as my default app for astronomical weather, but in recent months it seems to be completely inaccurate. For instance tonight (2Mar), CO is showing between 60 - 100 pc cloud cover while BBC Weather and the Met Office are both indicating a clear night for observing.
Can you look at this and perhaps re-jog your algorithms? Cheers.

### 3/5 — Great app, but …

*2024-01-07, version 1.0*

This is a very nice and simple app. But you can not add a location west of the meridian or south of the equator as you can not add negative lat/long coordinates. This should be a simple fix, but I notice someone else has commented on this 2 years ago and there’s been no update.

### 3/5 — Only Celsius and no negative lat/long

*2023-12-28, version 1.0*

Overall I like the AI and the info it presents, but really should add an option for temps in F or C (only C currently). Also I want to add some remote sites I go to, but you can’t use negative numbers for Lat/long so those of us in the West or Southern hemispheres can’t put in coordinates.

### 3/5 — Good app with a serious flaw

*2023-12-17, version 1.0*

Whilst Latitude can be edited in Locations, Longitude can't, meaning a precise location cannot be entered.

### 3/5 — Temp change?

*2023-12-15, version 1.0*

y no settings where we can change temp C to F?

### 3/5 — Okay

*2023-11-02, version 1.0*

Accurate most of the times but unfortunately when you try to save the location it won’t let you put in negative sign for longitude. Therefore the location feature is really useless for me. Other than that it’s okay.

### 2/5 — Missing lunar info and can’t change longitude

*2023-09-24, version 1.0*

I had no issues with this app until I moved to a different location in the same city. After moving, when I tap on “current location,” the lunar info goes missing. I tried editing my new home location and it wouldn’t let me change the latitude. I deleted the old home position to re-enter my new one using a search and clicking on a position within the database and now the lunar info is missing from both my home position and my current location. Frustrating how it worked fine before when I tapped on current location and now it won’t work at all no matter what I do.

### 2/5 — Needs iPhone X support

*2023-08-13, version 1.0*

The search is horrible and needs upgrading to latest iOS standards

### 4/5 — Need to change setting to F not C temperature

*2023-05-28, version 1.0*

See question

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Critical Flaw

*2025-10-26, version 1.0*

The fact that you can’t manually enter or edit a negative longitude makes this app an excellent example of worthless design. And this hasn’t been corrected in over four years? Ridiculous.

### 1/5 — Do these folks even use their app?

*2025-09-05, version 1.0*

Just try entering a custom latitude/longitude, I dare you. The keyboard has no negative sign and the longitude is uneditable. I do my astrophotography in remote areas away from the towns and cities in their database (and the reason is Mr Bortle), yet this app is useless for any area outside their databases of high Bortle locations. Test your darn software!

### 1/5 — Inaccurate 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

*2025-07-25, version 1.0*

100% of the time it is inaccurate. Says it will be clear and always cloudy.

### 1/5 — Location doesn’t work

*2025-04-19, version 1.0*

Unfortunately I cannot choose any location rendering it useless, shame as it’s very helpful otherwise

### 1/5 — Clunky & old

*2025-03-12, version 1.0*

The look is very clunky & the lazy developer has not bothered to update its look just because it kind of does the job- Does it! Other developers reading this, please usurp this app with a better look & usability

### 1/5 — 👎Garbage👎

*2024-12-04, version 1.0*

Don’t waste your time. Doesn’t open in full screen, useless for iPad. Version hasn’t been updated in 10 years. 👎👎👎👎👎

### 1/5 — This app has not ever worked

*2024-08-30, version 1.0*

I’ve deleted, installed & reinstalled again & again. Latitude & longitude still can be edited. I enter the location this app populated & it shows India. Horrible

### 1/5 — Useless

*2023-08-31, version 1.0*

Like all the other weather apps it's wrong 99% of the time...for example...this morning in Santa Monica CA it said sunny no cloud cover...guess what...WRONG...it was raining!!!

Epic Fail

### 1/5 — Not accurate at all

*2022-11-28, version 1.0*

And for gods sake, sort out the location on the opening home page!

### 1/5 — Useless for custom locatioms

*2022-10-16, version 1.0*

Fine if you only use the location it’s detected. If you try to search for other locations they either don’t come up, or come up,with the right name but totally wrong coordinates.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Most accurate weather app

*2025-06-17*

I look at 3 weather apps every morning and find this one is the most accurate. There may be others that pull from Meteosource Weather API. I like the clunky GUI. All the information is present. Thanks for the app!

### 5/5 — Pretty Good So Far

*2025-05-31, version 1.0*

I was trying to plan an astrophotography session and got 4 different weather forecasts from 4 different services so I tried this app. It was accurate as it turned out, along with only one weather forecast. This app is also recommended by professional photographers online.

### 5/5 — Useful!

*2023-03-21, version 1.0*

Thank you for the app.

### 5/5 — Perfect

*2023-02-12, version 1.0*

Just what is needed to plan for the evening and morning observations. Clear, easy to use, shows all the relevant factors influencing visibility.

Silly comments about Devon being the default location miss the point that users can set their home location to their liking, including accurate longitudes and latitudes.

One brilliant app by one brilliant company

### 5/5 — The Best Weather App for Astronomers

*2023-01-04, version 1.0*

This is just what I have been looking for, and most of all it is really free!

### 5/5 — Liking it

*2022-10-13, version 1.0*

Scary just how accurate the app is even is Australia.
I would like to see the CSS added to the ISS line. I am always looking for both.

### 5/5 — Excellent App with one major and idiotic flaw

*2022-03-30*

This app is fantastic, it’s very useful and reasonably easy to use. Sure, the interface looks like it belongs on an iPhone 3, but the information is there.

The one major and infuriating flaw is that the app only allows you to enter *positive* latitude and longitude coordinates. So you can’t set locations outside of cities in all of America or the Southern Hemisphere. Pretty stupid oversight that demonstrates the Eurasian bias of the developers (lol).

### 5/5 — Dew point

*2022-02-02*

THE only free app that give Dew Point forecast. At 500kB, this app is a gem and launches extremely fast.

Yes it has small issues but there are workarounds for every one so I find it very underrated!

I hope they update the forecast source after darksky shuts down, but keep the UI the same and app size low

### 5/5 — Tiktok

*2022-01-22, version 1.0*

Hello to all the people from that one guys tiktok

### 5/5 — Pretty good

*2021-09-01, version 1.0*

Love the detailed forecast. As accurate as any other forecast app; can be a hit and miss but I haven’t find anything better.
