### 4/5 — Great app!

*2026-08-05, version 2.6.1*

I had had this app for years and surprisingly found parts of it confusing to use. Now with additional tips, I am enjoying its versatility.

### 2/5 — Review Obsession

*2026-07-25, version 2.6.0*

Clear literally asks me to write a review every time I use the app. I liked it - but maybe if I start giving it worse reviews, it will stop asking me all the time.

### 3/5 — Great, but missing my favorite feature

*2026-07-21, version 2.6.0*

Love Clear, but I want to see the invisible back button come back. It set the app apart from others, and is much better than swiping or using the glass buttons.

### 4/5 — Please bring back tapping on bottom to go back

*2026-07-19, version 2.6.0*

Can you make it a setting? This was much nicer than needing to swipe. There's the back button now, but I'll hide those in settings

### 5/5 — Intuitive and easy to use.

*2026-07-12, version 2.6.0*

Had the beta and it went dormant for a while. When it came back functionality was even better. Enjoy the reminder setting and the sub-header font size. Don’t care for the gamification. Use daily especially for packing lists and the fact that it keeps crossed out items means I can revisit the list again and again.

### 5/5 — Great simple app for organization

*2026-07-08, version 2.5.14*

I have used this app for years. It is simple and intuitive. I am a list maker and this is easy to add to, rearrange and add reminders to. You can also have multiple lists. I have even gotten my husband using it! Definitely recommend.

### 5/5 — Helpful

*2026-07-02, version 2.5.14*

Satisfying way to organize life’s lists.

### 5/5 — yes

*2026-06-16, version 2.5.11*

yes

### 5/5 — Go to app

*2026-06-12, version 2.5.11*

Great to quickly get a task and reminder down so you don’t forget. The best part is crossing it out when you get it done!

### 2/5 — Original Clear App

*2026-06-10, version 2.5.11*

The original app was great. My iPhone and iPad would sync up. But now it seems to be about how the developers can get more money out of you and I. No more sync unless you upgrade to plus. No thanks. Time to look elsewhere.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not what it used to be

*2026-08-08, version 2.6.1*

After updating it is now extremely laggy and most features are blocked behind a subscription model. I bought the app over a decade ago, ans was great at the time, unfortunately its no longer something I can recommend

### 1/5 — Missing support for shortcuts

*2026-08-06, version 2.6.1*

No undo edits and no iOS shortcuts integration

### 1/5 — Consistently nuke features for Pro

*2026-08-06, version 2.6.1*

This app used to be great but has now turned into a crippled shell of itself requiring you to purchase Pro for things that were included in the original paid version of the app. Not syncing across devices is crazy. Find a different list app.

### 1/5 — Clear 2.0 SUCKS

*2026-07-21, version 2.6.0*

I used to have the original clear and then my phone upgraded to this version. Awful. Do not buy. I wish they wouldn’t have overwritten their awesome app for this piece of garbage. And I’ve emailed them about it and they told me to kick rocks.

### 1/5 — Devs keep ruining a perfect app.

*2026-07-21, version 2.6.0*

Before you download this app you should know that more than half of the features they’ve now locked behind a subscription paywall used to be completely free. I loved Clear and used it daily for a long time to help organize my life, but the developers kept changing small things and trying to iterate one what was a near-perfect app already and it muddied up the experience. The subscription is the last sign that the developers don’t care about making a beautiful and simple app, because they already made one. Instead they want an app they can keep iterating on past the point of usefulness in hopes of making more money of its users.

Clear used to be better, for free. Don’t spend your money here.

UPDATE JUNE 2026: Can’t believe it somehow got worse but the developer of this app has sunk even lower into their greed and removed any option to support them with one-time purchases for themes. Now most customizations have been removed from their shop and “will be available through other means with a Pro subscription” in the future. Shutting down single time paid personalization options in an effort to push towards the already greedy and unnecessary subscription is a new low.

UPDATE JULY 2026: Another terrible update. Removing easy and intuitive navigation features that have been a part of this app for years in favor of clunky and interruptive buttons and gestures, not to mention several customization options including themes, fonts, and icons that I previously purchased, unlocked via the rewards system, and had access to as a legacy user have now been taken away from me and locked behind a pro subscription. I’ve loved this app but please stay far, far away from it. It’s a shell of what it used to be, all changed in the name of monetization and “innovation.”

### 1/5 — Constant updates to break ease of use

*2026-07-12, version 2.6.0*

I've been using Clear for well over a decade. It's my only To-Do list app. The past several years the app has had constant updates that take a nice simpler perfect app and break what was working. This last update that fundamentally changes the way you interact with the app and the muscle memory is the final straw.

I've always disliked the subscription model and Clear Pro became what I feared. Pulling features and putting them behind paywalls, then justifying the subscription with constant rearrangement updates that just make the experience worse.

Thanks for the great early years, but I'm done with this app and the constant bad updates.

### 1/5 — Synchronisation retirée

*2026-06-29, version 2.5.13*

### 1/5 — Where is my "Night Owl Classic"??!

*2026-06-27, version 2.5.13*

How can you lock content behind a paid Pro subscription after users have already earned it? I was genuinely shocked when I opened the app and found that my favorite color scheme (the one I unlocked through achievements) is now only available with a paid subscription, and it had been replaced with the default one. How is that even acceptable? Have you completely lost your minds? I put up with the constant, intrusive pop-ups advertising your subscription, but this is just plain ridiculous!

### 1/5 — Themes

*2026-06-27, version 2.5.13*

You put the dark theme which I was using for the longest time that I earned behind a paywall now

### 1/5 — Devs keep ruining a perfect app.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Awesome app

*2026-08-25, version 2.7.4*

This app helps me organize my bills so fun and easy to use 100% customizable

### 5/5 — The best one

*2026-08-18, version 2.7.3*

But Clear. Use Clear. It was the best when it launched literally decades ago and it’s somehow still the best today.

### 5/5 — Great list app

*2026-08-13, version 2.7.2*

Have used this for years and love it. Makes lists really easy. Use it for waiters all the time and they are always so gagged about how easy it is to take an order from it.

### 5/5 — Please bring back tapping on bottom to go back

*2026-08-10, version 2.6.1*

Edit: it's not exactly called out in a setting, but latest update does support this. Maybe disabling the buttons brings this feature back. Idk, but I'm happy it's back. Thank you

Can you make it a setting? This was much nicer than needing to swipe. There's the back button now, but I'll hide those in settings

### 5/5 — longtime fan

*2026-08-09, version 2.6.1*

ive used this app since i think around when it came out, and was perhaps featured in inc magazine or similar. it’s fun, useful, a bright spot in my day- still here after all of these years

### 5/5 — The best

*2026-07-27, version 2.6.0*

I’ve had this app since the early days and I truly use it every single day multiple times. So easy to organize my thoughts/lists/tasks, not overly complicated at all but still well thought out and so so useful . I just love the practical simplicity, it’s a perfect app.

### 5/5 — Easy

*2026-07-26, version 2.6.0*

Quite a nice simple todo list app, quick easy to use compared other apps I’ve tried.

Currently I’ve not found any bugs or glitches with the app. This is my top recommendation for a todo list app highly recommended!

### 5/5 — Love Clear!

*2026-07-25, version 2.6.0*

I’ve used for YEARS and have tried sooooo many todo apps but have always come back to Clear as it’s just soooo easy for everyday tasks. They really broke the mold on the interface design and keep adding features. Take the time to learn additional gestures to use it the most effectively. I use another app for more complex projects. The only warning as is it’s so easy you can delete items accidentally.

I have three main list groups - todos, errands, info. Errands lists include a running list of items to get at grocery store, Lowe’s/Home Depot…. for the next time I’m there. Info might be lists for books or movies I want to read/watch.

### 5/5 — added to my daily utilities

*2026-07-22, version 2.6.0*

Great app! And the update is looking good so far.

Would really appreciate if we can personalize a list without having to go through so many menus 🙏 There are too many good options!

### 5/5 — Invisible center back button

*2026-07-13*

Please bring back invisible back button , it was much much better than new gestures !!
