## What is ClearDepth?

ClearDepth is the water safety app built for boaters and lake-goers who want to know what's beneath the surface before they get there.
Whether you're anchoring in a cove, letting the kids jump in, or navigating unfamiliar water, ClearDepth shows you hazards reported by other boaters in real time: submerged rocks, shallow spots, blind turns, debris, and more. And because water levels change, ClearDepth automatically adjusts the severity of every hazard based on current conditions. A rock that's harmless at high water becomes a serious threat when levels drop.
Features:

Community-reported hazards on interactive lake maps
Real-time water level data that updates hazard severity automatically
Proximity alerts that notify you as you approach a flagged area
Per-lake community chat to connect with boaters on the same water
Support for 150+ lakes across the United States

ClearDepth is built on the idea that boaters looking out for each other makes everyone safer. Every report you add helps the next person on the water.

## Key features

- Community-reported hazards on interactive maps
- Real-time water level adjustments
- Proximity alerts for flagged areas
- Per-lake community chat
- Support for 150+ US lakes

ClearDepth is an incredible lake navigation and safety tool. As a frequent wakesurfer it is vital to know where potential hazards are, known shallow areas, and spots to avoid. I like to visit new lakes often and this app has provided so much security when exploring new lakes, ensuring I don’t hit something or run aground on a shallow spot mid surf. ## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.10 — 2026-08-05

ClearDepth now covers 229 lakes, including many newly added by request — with live water-level readings wherever a public source exists, not just static estimates.

What's new:
- 26 more lakes added, several with live water-level data (including Norris Lake, TN)
- Water-level readings now clearly show when a depth is live vs. estimated
- You can now edit your own hazard tags after posting (type, depth, notes, photo)
- Shared hazard links are more reliable and now show a proper link preview when texted or messaged
- Various bug fixes and stability improvements

Thanks for helping build the most complete lake hazard map on the water.

### 1.0.8 — 2026-07-20

ClearDepth 1.0.8
This update focuses on data accuracy and stability:

Dozens of new lakes added, with a major expansion across Texas plus new coverage in Utah, Nevada, and Missouri
Water levels are now pulled from live government and utility sources for the vast majority of supported lakes, replacing estimates with real-time readings — lakes still on an estimated level are now clearly labeled so you always know what you're looking at
Fixed an issue where dropping a pin could suggest the wrong lake instead of your current one
"Select a different lake" now sorts by distance from your pin and supports search, making it much easier to find the right lake
Fixed a crash on profile access for some users
Fixed an issue where a deleted hazard could leave a stale marker on the map until the app was restarted

Thanks for helping make ClearDepth more accurate on the water — as always, reach out anytime at cleardepth@point6dev.com with feedback.

### 1.0.4 — 2026-06-15

What's New in 1.0.4

Favorites are now synced to your account - they survive reinstalls and carry over to new devices
Added Salt Lake (UT) and Lake Rousseau (FL) to the lake catalog
Hazard submission now shows a confirmation when your report is successfully posted
Fixed an issue where the keyboard covered the notes field when tagging a hazard
Lakes managed by a pool or dam now show a "Managed pool" label in water level displays

### 1.0.3 — 2026-06-12

What's New in Version 1.0.3

Share any hazard - tap the share icon on a hazard card to send a direct link via text, email, or any app. Recipients with ClearDepth installed open straight to that hazard; everyone else is sent to the App Store.
Focused map view - tap "Open on Full Map" from a hazard card to zoom directly to that hazard in isolation. Tap "Show Other Hazards" to return to the full map.
Profile setup prompt - new users are guided to complete their boat, activity, and home lake on their first visit to the Profile tab.
Password visibility toggle - tap the eye icon on the login and password reset screens to show or hide your password.
Bug fixes - favorites no longer carry over between accounts on shared devices.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-06-11

What's New in v1.0.2

Share hazards with your crew, tap the new Share button on any hazard card to send a deep link directly to friends, family, or your boating group so they can see exactly what you found.

Tap any boater's name or avatar in chat or on a hazard card to view their profile. See their home lake, boat type, and activity.

Proximity alerts now fire correctly when the app is in the background. If you're approaching a tagged hazard, you'll get notified even with the screen off.

153 lakes across 22 states, now organized alphabetically by state in the Browse Lakes menu, easier to find your lake fast.

Added Home Lake to your profile. Bug fixes and performance improvements.
