## What is ClearEaty?

ClearEaty tells you what's really in your food. Scan a barcode or snap a photo of the ingredients label, and ClearEaty rates every ingredient and gives the product an overall health score — in plain language, in seconds.

No sign-up required. Just open the app and scan.

WHY CLEAREATY
• Honest scores — no brand pays for placement
• Every ingredient explained, so you know why something scored low
• Built for real grocery aisles, not lab jargon

WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Scan barcodes for instant ingredient ratings
• No barcode? Photograph the ingredients label and we'll read it
• See an overall 1–10 health score for each product
• Tap any ingredient to learn what it is and why it's rated that way
• Find healthier picks — better-scoring alternatives in the same category
• Build your personal food score by marking the foods you actually eat
• Keep a grocery list of the good stuff

HOW IT WORKS
ClearEaty looks up products in the open Open Food Facts database and uses advanced AI to rate ingredients for healthiness on a 1–10 scale. When a product isn't in the database yet, a quick photo of the label is all it takes — and your scan helps the next person too.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.8 — 2026-09-01

More accurate scores.

• Ingredients we showed but didn't count — like frying oils — now
  count toward the score.
• Additives listed by E-number (E129, E133) are treated the same as
  their named equivalents.
• Extra virgin olive oil is recognised as its own grade, not lumped
  in with refined olive oil.
• Coconut oil scores consistently however the label words it.

Scores across the app have been updated to match. Some moved down —
that's the score getting more honest, not the food getting worse.

### 1.7 — 2026-08-02

Fixed a scan that could fail with a "no internet" message on a phone
that was online. Scanning an ingredient label is reliable again.

The results screen now fits on one screen: healthier alternatives and
the ingredient breakdown are both visible without scrolling.

Your score now shows what moved it — like "Organic +1" — right next to
the number.

You can now share ClearEaty with a friend from the home screen.

### 1.5.0 — 2026-07-31

Fixed a wrong warning that told you some breads and cereals might be supplements. Better ingredient matching behind the scenes, so the same ingredient is recognized consistently from product to product.

### 1.4.0 — 2026-07-30

Scores are more honest this release. A 10 now means nothing held the product back — if something did, you'll see the score it actually earned. Nutrition warnings no longer call a "medium" reading "high". The score circle sits where it should, and long allergen labels like "Contains tree nuts" no longer get cut off.

### 1.3.1 — 2026-07-29

• Allergen labels — spot nuts, peanuts, soy, sesame, gluten, fish, and shellfish at a glance, next to the dietary badges.
• Report an issue — flag a wrong scan or classification from the product screen in one tap.
• Clearer dietary badges — a new "Non-vegetarian" label and better veg detection when a product's data is incomplete.
• A small nudge to make sharing a score easier.
