I have both the original system and the Defender HD 1080p systems at different locations. I have been thinking of upgrading to a 4K system. With that in mind I have tried to stay loyal to Defender but since they have apparently decided to not to support their past customers by not maintaining this app I am in turn not supporting Defender any longer and will now move on to the Reolink 4K system. Hopefully Reolink will continue to support their customers better than Defender has. ### 2/5 — Mr Tan *2019-08-28, version 1.0.5* Need update software 2 years old out of date ### 1/5 — Trash *2019-04-04* This company has failed by abandoning their existing users on their original platform. No resources invested in keeping this app or products usable. Last update was years ago. Very disappointed. For whatever reason this company will not stand by its products and they obviously will not update their app. The last time this has been updated was 2 years ago! We are 2 major iOS versions into the future and this app is no longer stable. It crashes constantly. I contacted the company about it and they told me that because my camera equipment is no longer under warranty, they weren’t going to fix the app. They seem to think that the camera equipment somehow makes the app crash on an iPhone? Really?! Not sure what they are thinking, but that makes no sense at all. I really hope they read these reviews and will take measures to fix this app to make it compatible with the latest phones and operating systems. ### 1/5 — Worst app ever *2019-01-13* I’ve had the cameras for a few years and they work fine if I want to go onto my computer to check the footage but the app is absolutely horrible. Might as well switch the cameras to Ring or Something else that has way better apps ### 1/5 — App no longer connects *2018-03-25* I’ve had the system for a few years now and it’s great. But the app won’t connect to the device manager anymore. I’ve deleted the app, downloaded again, and set it up again....nothing, it still won’t connect. Why won’t you fix your app? It works fine on a monitor, but I would love to take a view of my home when I’m not there. And that was the whole purpose of buying the system. My only disappointment is , there’s no tech Support or a fix That we can download to correct their issue. I can record video clips and take pictures of recordings. The one thing I'd like to do is share videos via email or text, and that doesn't appear to be possible. And it also does what it is supposed to do. My app has worked great on Defender 21012 series. See all 8 camera in real time and can even jump straight to motion sense. Very nice to be able to view recorded events. One feature that could be added- manual control of PTZ cameras. For now I just have two apps - this one and SwannView for the odd instance I need manual PTZ control. Because of the multiple screen options I can watch both units simultaneously. The Remote Playback option works great. I couldn't be happier with this app and the Defender products.
