## What is Clef?

Clef - Piano Practice

Three minutes of piano drills a day, scheduled around what you're about to forget.

Clef is a practice app for people who play piano, or want to. Not songs, not videos: focused drills, graded by how fast you actually answer and resurfaced by a spaced-repetition engine (FSRS) at the moment you're about to forget.

READING
- Note Naming - treble and bass, landmark notes first
- Grand Staff - both clefs, interleaved
- Ledger Notes - the notes hanging above and below the staff
- Intervals - the distance between two notes, at a glance
- Key Signatures - sharps and flats, in circle-of-fifths order

### 1.0.3 — 2026-08-17

A design pass over every screen, driven by a full audit of the app.

The keyboard no longer inverts in dark mode. Black keys stayed black and white keys stayed ivory all along on paper, but the app was painting them with the same tokens it used for chrome, so in dark mode the sharps came out white. Fixed everywhere the keyboard appears, along with the badges and guides drawn on top of it.

Right and wrong now carry a mark, not just a colour, and a missed answer no longer files itself under a heading that reads CORRECT.

The purchase screen states what full access actually gets you, which it never did.

Bigger drill cards with the instruction beside its subject instead of stranded at the bottom of the card. Proper iPad layout instead of phone screens stretched wide. Countdown, results and prompts that hold together at the largest accessibility text sizes rather than clipping each other. Bigger tap targets, honest tiles, and Reduce Motion respected throughout.
