### 2/5 — Would be great if it worked

*2019-07-02, version 2018.12*

Frequently need to log back into the app and into linked cards. It would be great if it actually worked.

### 2/5 — Recent update

*2019-06-17, version 2018.12*

I find the scrolling book covers under the search function to be distracting. The app has slowed down considerably and seems to freeze.

### 2/5 — Overall okay.

*2019-05-10, version 2018.12*

This app is overall okay. It’s really not ideal for ebooks. If you open the app while listening it’s never at the part of the book you are really at. If I pause it it takes it back to the beginning of the chapter almost every time. If I reopen the app, the same thing happens- it’s at some random part of the book. Very frustrating.

### 2/5 — Clevnet Libraries app

*2018-08-24, version 4.1.0*

1. Make renew several items easily — please add multiply selection/one button.
2. Add info how many renewal remains please. It was in a previous app.
3. Make a pause button or stop/remove this slide bar at home page, it’s just a visual noise, very disturbing “design” decision.
Thank you.

### 2/5 — Meh

*2018-08-15, version 4.1.0*

1) Does not connect consistently
2) would be nice to see what holds are in transit

### 2/5 — Not ready for prime time

*2018-08-09, version 4.1.0*

The search feature is terrible, especially compared to BookMyne (which this app replaced). I guess I’ll have to stick to the website until they get this app working properly.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Linked accounts and app support

*2022-12-28, version 2022.1.6*

When I click on app support it directs to nowhere
Linked accounts- unable to unlink to try and relying. Linked accounts do not show the checked out items and hold items.
Unable to send review - wanted a nickname and said all my suggestions were taken - remove that

### 1/5 — Used to be good

*2022-11-04, version 2021.1*

I used to love this app for checking holds and checkouts. Now I have so many problems. I have to log back in a lot or close and restart the app almost every time until it displays my checkouts and holds. Also sometimes it denies placing holds for multiple items but if I sign out and sign back in it will finally work. Too many steps just to quickly check my account.

### 1/5 — Not working

*2020-05-23, version 2019.5*

The ClevNet app for iPad and iPhone are no longer working. I’ve lost items borrowed and can no longer download new items. When I try to download new items an error indicating that a server connection is not working.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2020-05-16, version 2019.5*

I used Overdrive with perfect success for at least a decade. Now it’s tapped into a different (Ohio?) Digital library and Clevenet just disappeared and something new called Libby appeared that is tied to Clevenet who just notified me via email that a book I wanted is in my Holds now and if I want it I must log in soon to accept it. Now I cannot login to Clevenet at all which keeps wanting to use Overdrive and I have no idea what my old formerly saved credentials are to type in to Clevenet. None of the password number suggestions worked either and the old info in my saved password doc isn’t working anymore either. Grrrrrrr!! Funny everything worked just fine less than 2 months ago when I placed the hold on the book. Of course it’s after midnight and I can’t reach anyone (and probably not tomorrow/Saturday either due to covid). I have wasted an hour over this nonsense.

### 1/5 — Some issues currently

*2019-06-28, version 2018.12*

It won’t load my list of checkouts or holds. Hoping for a bug fix soon.

### 1/5 — Terrible Design

*2018-08-16, version 4.1.0*

This is supposed to be an improvement over the old app? You can only renew 1 item at a time. You can’t pay fines. Not full screen optimized for newer iPhones (not full screen). I hope Clevenet didn’t pay for this horrible piece of design.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2018-08-14, version 4.1.0*

I don’t know what happened with this app, but no longer displays the books I have checked out. Yes, I’m signed-in, but just get a message that I have no books checked out. Simply doesn’t correspond to my actual library record.

### 1/5 — Previous App was Better

*2018-08-08, version 4.1.0*

This app looks better and is more modern, BUT the old app offered better information. I want to see my items in transit and whether they’re actually AT the library for pick up. For pick up it says something like “being held”. I know it’s being held...I put it on hold. I mean come on...why not Ready for pick up? Or ready. Or come and get it.
Also...I wanna see when my items are in transit like the old better app. I want to know when it goes from “being on hold” to “moving my direction”.

### 2/5 — Confusing App

*2023-11-25*

This app could be so useful- it is often not helpful even confusing.
The notifications of the item arriving at the library I request should be simple.
Just tell me when the item ARRIVES.
I don’t care it’s in transit!!

I have gone to the library multiple time because the wording of this app and the notifications in my email makes it look like the book has arrived and it has not.

Please make this simple stupid!!!

### 2/5 — Better than BookMyne

*2020-02-16, version 2019.5*

I stopped using the Clevnet system when the switch to the truly awful BookMyne app was made. This app, while better than the truly awful BookMyne app, is poorly laid out and lacks many of the features of the app prior to the truly awful BookMyne app.

To be noted: there appears to be active development of the Clevnet Libraries app with recent version changes 1, 5, and 11 months ago (as of 2/20) compared to the truly awful BookMyne app with version changes 3, 4, and 6 years ago.

Suggest changing “being held” to “ready for pick-up” if “being held” means only ready for pick-up. “Being held” is, to my mind, the status that ensues immediately after I push the “place hold” button. “Ready for pick-up” means, well, read to be picked up without obvious ambiguity.

Suggest changing color scheme, or allowing color scheme changes for greater contrast, perhaps a dark-mode option.

Suggest aligning icons and text on home page for neatness sake and a more polished, professional look.

Suggest eliminating the neck-bending left sidebar in landscape mode with a matching landscape orientation for my home-base library.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Love this app. Cannot contact App Support

*2021-12-14, version 2021.1*

The current checkouts do not appear. It’s been a week or so like this. They do appear on the website though.

### 4/5 — Wishing for more

*2023-03-05*

I like Clevnet overall. I like having all of Ohio in reach. I just need a Wish List in the app I.e., for future reading. I end up with a long list of Suspended Holds to keep a list of things I’m interested in but don’t want yet.

### 4/5 — Has the basics

*2018-03-05, version 4.0*

I’m so glad to see a decent app for our library. Having my lists would be nice. Being able to pay fines would also be convenient. I’m betting there are fees to receive funds with an app though. Multiple renewals would also be a good idea. Overall, the app is still easier to use than pulling the site up on Safari or Google.

### 3/5 — Slow

*2023-02-22, version 2022.1.6*

Running so slow and not displaying correctly.

### 3/5 — Add a List function

*2022-09-11, version 2021.1*

This app is fine for what it does—it’s great for searching for material available as physical and digital editions, across the libraries, Libby, and Hoopla. It tends to be a little slow to load your account, which is why I gave it 3/5, but when it’s loaded, it works perfectly. The only thing I would ask is to have a ‘wishlist’ function just for the user, similar to tagging in Hoopla and Libby, where the user can have a private list of materials they’d like to read next, especially for physical material, which can’t be saved in Libby/Hoopla. That would take this app to the next level in my opinion.

### 3/5 — No book results.

*2019-11-20, version 2019.4.5*

For some reason when doing a title search sometimes book formats don’t show up. I only get e-book and audiobook results even when physical books are available. Doing a search by book format reveals no results.

### 3/5 — Better than Bookmyne, but not by much

*2018-08-23, version 4.1.0*

So annoying. Sometimes my holds show up. Sometimes they don't. Makes me crazy.

### 3/5 — Better, but needs more refinement

*2018-04-25, version 4.0.4*

This app is an improvement in some ways over the previous BookMyne one. It’s a flashier UI, but the developers still need to focus some attention on speed and refinement.

This release has unfathomably dropped some basic functions that make its use frustrating.
 - Please bring back the ability to select multiple items for menu actions like renewal, suspending/canceling holds, etc.
 - Bring back the home button that directly returns a use back to the home screen instead of having to reverse out of several layers.
 - Bring better clarity across the platform to which holds are ebooks and which are books, for example, in the hold list which currently only essentially only shows titles. In the same vein, bring uniformity or more clarity to actions taken on books and ebooks. Currently, for instance, a book uses “placed” when on order and an ebook uses “waiting”. The language used for when the items are being held is also confusing between books and ebooks.

Besides those suggestions to bring back lost functionality, there are several bugs in the current release.
- While the app suggests that it has notifications I have never received one for anything. Not holds arriving, books due, books overdue, etc. I have checked my iOS notifications setting and they are set to allow any notifications from app
- The app continually drops linked accounts. I have set up access to my childrens’ accounts several times only to have the app inexplicably drop the links after various lengths of time.

Finally, the app could use a general increase in speed. It is very laggy and account information about materials on loan or hold take a long time to appear.

### 3/5 — Decent

*2018-02-07, version 4.0*

Happy to have an app for my local libraries, great improvement and convenience but still needs a few tweaks. Would like to be able to pay fines and the user account drop down needs to include "my lists" so that I can access titles I have saved while in the library rather than necessarily placing a hold.

### 3/5 — big improvement from the terrible prior app, still some work to do

*2018-01-23, version 4.0*

Overall this is a big improvement from the terrible prior app. However, a couple of key things are missing or need to be improved.

1. Let me pay fines from the app. Seriously. Make it easy for me to give you my money and keep my account clear.
2. For the ebook download, when I select Kindle format the "Done" at the bottom is a dark color against a dark background and it's almost impossible to read. I thought it took me out of the app and it was hard to figure out it didn't.
3. Make it easy to get back to the "home" screen. Right now I have to press "back" over and over until I get back to home.
4. Let me renew items more easily.
5. Let me place holds for multiple titles in a search more easily.

Right now, if there are multiple items due on the same day that I want to renew or multiple items by the same author that I want to place on hold, I have to go into each item to renew/request it individually. Let me check a number of items and then renew/reserve them all together. You actually can do this in the terrible BookMyne app.
