Why can’t the developers or programmers make this work more smoothly? ### 1/5 — Very frustrating *2025-06-04, version 25.04.00* This app is slow, doesn't stay open and throws errors all the time. ### 1/5 — If you’ve used the old app you will constantly be frustrated by this one *2025-05-12* In the new year, I had to delete the Clevnet app because it wasn’t working. When I re-downloaded the app it was much different. It’s been a pain to use it ever since then. Today it crashed twice. Then I finally got on and of course it was as slow as ever. Probably the slowest app or website I’ve used in years. Unfortunately I’m not exaggerating. But my laptop is charging so I tried to bear with it (don’t do that. Trust me- just use their desktop website). Somehow the app accidentally canceled a hold of mine. This is a hold item I’d been waiting for. And it was just marked as in transit. But no, now I have to start over. Freaking fantastic. If you’ve ever waited on a long hold list, you can imagine how painful that would be. Some features are missing, for example if you look under item information it used to tell you the actual locations of a certain item. Let’s say there are one-hundred copies of an item and fifty are available on the shelf. You could look on the app and get the on shelf locations of each available copy. Maybe one library near you has it shelved under “new” items but another has it shelved with “fiction.” It was an easy quick way to look something up. Now the feature is gone. It’s been over five months now since I had to download this new app. I’ve tried to give it time. But it’s basically just as bad as it was on day one. This is a smaller complaint but the last issue I can think of is how the new interface is a major downgrade. I wish Clevnet could fix this app or get the old one back. Genuinely curious as to what happened here. It used to be so helpful! ### 1/5 — Horrible app *2025-04-20* Yeah, libraries are underfunded. And yes, our library was one that was duped by a foreign software company and had to scramble for a temporary replacement. Time has run out for this temp tool. It has NEVER performed reliably for me. The ONE time I forget my wallet and think "Ah, my card is on my app!" Only to have the app I JUST USED IN THE PARKING LOT require me to re-authenticate - which requires my card number. So, 20 minutes as I go back home to get my wallet. Today, it gripes that it can't figure out its own preferences and just sits on the spinning hoop. I give up and might start a FBook page about how awful this "extremely public facing software" is and how medically it is impacting lower income families. ### 1/5 — Really poor quality *2025-04-13* Slow to load cumbersome to navigate and that is when it works. Whenever I go to place a hold for a book, I have to scroll all the way down the list to find my library—it won’t default to my library even though I had to select it when logging in. Searching for books is painful compared to the previous version of the app. Is it that hard to make an app that works? It constantly kicks me out and I have to select my library every single time I have to log back in. Finding items is also more difficult some how? I used to be able to type in a title, but now it's for some reason easier to find things by author. It feels like this app is trying to be good reads and a library app in one, and I kind of miss the simplicity of the old app. ### 1/5 — It use to be good… *2025-01-28* I am a huge lover of our libraries and have always enjoyed using the app, easy and simple. Now, it’s way too busy, very slow and crashes a lot. Not to mention it keeps signing me out and have to fetch my library card and password constantly. Sometimes simpler is better. This new app is a pain. It used to log me out, forget my library, be slow, and have a horrible search function to now, staying stuck on the loading screen. An error pop up jumps up while loading but is on screen for so short a time I can’t even read or understand what it’s saying. I was excited to see that this awful app that I used to be able to somewhat use to reserve books was being updated (June 25, 2026). Hooray! Maybe it’ll work. Nope. Now, it’s completely broken. Makes me think a private equity fund bought the library and is now in the process of aggressively asset stripping one of the things that actually used to work. ### 1/5 — App doesn’t work 90% of the time *2026-06-15* Please fix this app! Randomly denies me access to my account despite the Library saying my account looks fine. When you search for a type of book, it takes forever to load options, and often it doesn’t even show everything. I have typed in the exact title of a book that I knew was both in the catalog and in the app, and it didn’t come up. Whenever you go back, it completely deletes your search, and it doesn’t save the searches, so you have to retype it in all over again. You can’t connect your card to your account to pay off any fines, which is inconvenient. It doesn’t show you a preview of any book, so you can’t tell if it has pictures in it, what the pictures may look like, what the text looks like, what the writing is like, etc. You have to just take your chances by the cover. Everything is just slow and difficult to use. It truly feels like early 2000s Internet Explorer. The developers should not take pride in any “work” they have done on this app. It’s embarrassing. ### 1/5 — Please Fix *2025-10-02, version 25.09.00* This app was never really great. So if you want to use this app to find a physical book and place a hold on it, you’re out of luck.
