## What is Cliché?

One camera. Everyone invited. 12 photos each.

Cliché turns your night into a disposable camera. Your guests scan a QR code, everyone shoots, and nobody sees a thing until it's over. Then the roll develops and you all get photos of the same night.

WHY IT BEATS THE GROUP CHAT ALBUM
- 12 photos each, not one more. Every shot counts, so people put their phones away and actually show up.
- Nothing to see until the end. Nobody's comparing photos at the table, nobody's begging you to take it again.
- Bluetooth picks up who you were with. You get your moments, even the photos you didn't take.

HOW IT WORKS
- Create the roll and hold up its QR code. Your guests are in within seconds.
- Everyone shoots their 12 photos during the night. The roll stays closed while it develops.
- You open it when the party's over, up to a week later. Forget to, and it opens on its own.
- You get the whole roll, everyone else gets their moments.

MADE FOR
- Weddings, birthdays, festivals, bachelor and bachelorette parties
- At work: conferences, trade shows, offsites, company parties and happy hours
- Weekends away with friends, housewarmings, family reunions
- Or just a Saturday night, for no reason

YOUR PHOTOS STAY BETWEEN YOU
- No feed, no followers, no ads
- Only the people who were there see the photos
- You pick how many photos everyone gets, 12 by default

No photographer. No 2,000-photo album where you don't recognize anyone. Just your night, developed for the people who lived it.

## Key features

### 5/5 — Super useful

*2026-08-14*

okay wait… i actually get the hype around cliché now. 😭

it’s basically like having your own little camera roll from whatever you’re doing with your friends. everyone takes pictures, and you can actually get the photos you’re in without having to chase everyone down afterward.

the auto-airdrop feature is probably my favorite because i’m terrible at remembering to ask people to send me pictures. and the fact that you can even use it to block certain apps during events?? genius.

10/10 for anyone who’s always like “wait, send me that picture” 😂

### 5/5 — Love it

*2026-08-10*

Very useful and nice to share and connect with friends

### 5/5 — Friends loved this

*2026-08-10*

Had a birthday party for my friend the other week and rather than iCloud group photos tried this. Everyone loved it and can’t wait to use it for the next gathering!

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.1 — 2026-08-27

New: three little tips welcome you the first time you open the camera.
Fixed: the developed viewfinder now stays upright when your phone rotates.

### 1.4.0 — 2026-08-12

New: the camera shelf. Pick one of 11 legendary film cameras, from the Kodak FunSaver to the Polaroid SX-70, and shoot through its look: real film colors, grain and glow, tuned for each camera. The viewfinder shows the film look live, before you even take the photo. The original iPhone sits on the shelf too, for the no filter purists.

### 1.3.6 — 2026-08-10

The sign-in screen now opens on real film photos, one for every kind of night: a wedding bouquet toss, a concert, a road trip.

Event albums now carry their event name, so the wedding album says whose wedding it was.

And Cliché taps you on the shoulder when friends are around and the night is worth shooting.

### 1.3.5 — 2026-08-09

The camera never locks again. Alone? Your shots land on a solo roll, one per day, that develops the next morning. Cross paths with a friend and a shared roll starts like always. Also in this update: more reliable friend detection nearby.

### 1.3.4 — 2026-08-04

A cliché taken together could land twice in the same album, and send a second notification with it. One press of the shutter, one photo, one notification.

Pinch to zoom now works in the album.

Opening Cliché with no connection no longer leaves you on a black screen: the app lets itself in as soon as you are back online.

A friend you have just spent the evening with no longer shows up as last seen three weeks ago.
