## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not useable

*2022-03-30, version 1.21.16*

iPhone 7 - can’t click to agree to terms and conditions button and therefore not use the app.

### 2/5 — Is this app dead?

*2025-01-08, version 1.21.18*

I have liked this app thus far, to the extent that I bought the pro version ($50), but I can’t use any of the “ask a question” features… also, the web developers website doesn’t exist… I don’t even know if there is a way to get a refund since not all of the functions advertised work…

### 2/5 — Needs a real free trial

*2024-09-06, version 1.21.18*

Maybe this app is good but I wouldn’t know as it only is giving me one workout under the free trial. I would have expected at least a week or two to test as I’m not spending $ without that.

Also they have sooo many annoying tutorials for how to use the app. If your UX is so bad that you have to teach what every button does, there is a problem. Just seems very amateur.

### 2/5 — Couldn’t use it :(

*2022-04-13, version 1.21.16*

Installed the app, but the button for accepting “terms and conditions” is covered up by the “create training plan” button. Sad, had good reviews, if it’s fixed I’ll give it another try.

### 2/5 — Buggy and doesn’t work

*2020-04-16, version 1.21.0*

I like it, i tho k it’s great. BUT, the exercises change every time you go back in to the app. So you have a set schedule and the next time you go back it’s all jumbled and totally different. Not sure this app is full working yet?

### 3/5 — Keeps crashing in middle of training

*2019-02-04, version 1.12.1*

Hope this will be fixed, then I would give 5 stars

### 4/5 — Seems to be Unsupported

*2023-06-04, version 1.21.18*

This is a good app if you are self training. One of the best I’ve seen. There are plenty of exercises. Although the grouping and ordering can sometimes be confusing. Moving them around can be frustrating. Don’t schedule leading and bouldering in the same session. That’s a problem for people who are training by themselves. emails to support have bounced back.

### 5/5 — Great training plans easily customized without effort

*2023-12-17, version 1.21.18*

I wanted a training app where I did not have to think too much about planning. This is perfect. Gave me a customized training plan quickly that looks great.

### 5/5 — Best one for me!

*2022-01-18, version 1.21.14*

Not everything is finely resolved from a usability point of view yet, BUT this app just suits me best in comparison to all the others out there. I love the possibility to adapt the different areas like power or finger strength and the inclusion of the available equipment. It would be handy to additionally define, whether I‘m in the gym or at home at training days. Keep on going!!

### 5/5 — Fantastic training app

*2022-01-16, version 1.21.14*

I started using Climbing Coach 6 months ago when I needed a jump start to break my plateau. I committed to doing every workout for 8 weeks to see what would happen, and it totally worked! I’ve been climbing for 10 years and using this app helped me get back in a regular rhythm and build the muscle I needed to feel confident in my climbing again. Highly recommend!

## Most praised reviews (6 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Amazing app.

*2020-05-05, version 1.21.6*

This is a pretty remarkable app. Everything has been thoroughly thought out. Layout and interface is extremely easy to use. It’s one of the few apps that actually motivates me to train because of how detailed it is. I may finally get stronger...

### 5/5 — Good app, great support

*2020-03-11*

App is great at customizing workouts and keeping you motivated throughout the plan. I did experience some bugs but the developer responded right away and had them updated within a day. Outstanding support.

**Developer response:** Hi and thank you for taking the time to write a review, I really appreciate it! I’m glad you like ClimbingCoach, please let me know if you have any other issues or suggestions.

All the best,
Simon

### 5/5 — For Getting to the Next Grade

*2020-01-07, version 1.17.1*

The problem with so many training plans and books is that you can never truly adapt them to the amount of days you want to do, the amount of time you want to put in and your level. This app is outstanding. Such a solid and thoughtful programme made by people who actually climb and understand what you need to do to take your climbing to the next level. Even if you don’t want to do weights and you only want to do even 20 min a day, this app will improve your climbing loads. Give it a try. It’s really worth it!

### 5/5 — great app

*2019-05-11, version 1.13.1*

i checked out results before but this app fits better for me. keep it going.

the thing i dont get is why i receive a warning that says i dont have enough equipment for a good plan. i boulder and climb for fun and i dont want to take my phone to a session into the gym with me.

i use this app only at home and obviously i dont have much gear there. i just want to get a bit better or dont get worse in weeks i dont have the time for a gym session.

i think a fingerboard and some bodyweight exercises is all you need to stay in shape and i dont get why the app keeps telling me that this is not enough for a basic plan.

### 5/5 — Climbing coach

*2019-02-22, version 1.12.3*

This is awesome app for climbing. I am turning up at the wall with a structured plan working on every thing from power to endurance and your antagonist muscles the jury out if it will improve my grades but i am feeling a lot fitter

### 5/5 — Quality focussed climbing training. Who needs a professional coach?

*2018-12-07, version 1.7.0*

A seriously well put together app, with focused climbing training guidance and personalisation. After a few years of "just climbing", I’ve decided I wanted to push my grade and this app has provided the tools. After creating a climbing training plan using this app, and sticking to it for a couple of months, I have just come back from my most successful trip to Fontainebleau yet, managing to push my grade from around 6B (v4) to ticking of my first 7A (V6). With a trip to Kalymnos looming early next year, I have used this app to provide a tailor made winter climbing training plan, I am hoping to tick off my first 7b.

I have been most impressed with the adaptability of the exercises. Who needs a professional coach, this app does it all!
