### 3/5 — Cool App, very unpolished

*2026-04-15*

It’s a cool app and I have fun using it and logging climbs at my gym. There’s a lot of pretty amateurish UI bugs though. When logging a climb, for example the keyboard covers the action buttons and you can’t even see the message that you’re typing so there’s no way to edit it/adjust typos. Should be a very straightforward thing to fix - if you do I’ll up to at least 4 stars. Also, if I edit my log it ends up posting a 2nd comment, and I then need to go back and delete the comment, which isn’t super intuitive on the UI. Comments treated separately so deleting the log doesn’t delete the corresponding comments. Just a lot of amateurish UI bugs.

### 3/5 — Great.. with bugs.

*2026-04-02, version 7.7.7*

Very useful app if your gym uses it. Luckily my main gym does.

It’s good enough I gladly pay for pro. However there’s some issues that are knocking off some stars if they resolve I’d be happy to give 5 stars.
First is my pro doesn’t auto renew every month and requires me to contact support who takes a few days to respond and fix it. This results in missed session recordings (because I opened the app to climb and discovered pro features turned off). So that session and maybe the next don’t get recorded. Which is my main use of the app. This is my biggest annoyance.

Second if you “attempt” a send just to record your attempt, but don’t click “did you send it” it will still report to the community feed you sent it. Not a big deal, just a minor annoyance.

Finally the points for gear jumped / doubled randomly. And the points aren’t your actual points when you go to redeem them it seems. I am not in it for points to spend but previously it was a fun side to work towards and seemed like a few months and you’d get something. Not anymore, maybe a year. But for me this is also minor.

So hopefully they can work out the bugs, because it’s a great way to track your workouts and abilities.

### 4/5 — Review

*2026-03-20*

The app is so much fun to use and I love logging my climbs and tracking my progress as a climber. I would recommend the app to other climbers. You can earn points and it is super fun to get free stuff but I would say the point values change so it is sometimes hard to get the stuff you want. Other than that I think this is an amazing app!

### 4/5 — Points for rewards just doubled. Not cool for those of us who were working towards something

*2026-03-16*

Belay glasses: 3k to 6k points? I was getting close to the reward and now not worth the trouble.
Otherwise, I enjoy the app, and really love the new improvements with logging climbs

**Developer response:** Brandon here, one of the co-founders. Because we offer ClimbTime for free to both climbers and gyms, we did recently have to increase prices on some of the free gear items so we can keep the lights on and keep the app in the app store. I really appreciate the kind words about the app and want to make sure we make things right because we care about every member of our community. Please email me at brandon@climbtimeapp.com and I will personally make sure you get your reward!

### 3/5 — Lost data

*2026-02-04, version 7.7.4*

I do enjoy this app. I do not like that this app downgraded and now does not display my climbing progress.

### 3/5 — Disappointed with Pro implementation

*2026-01-11, version 7.7.1*

Annoying that features that used to be free are now locked behind a pro membership.

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2025-08-21*

Easy to input new routes as a setter and very fun to use as a climber and connect with others.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the great review! Enjoy climbing with ClimbTime!

### 5/5 — Best option for the climbing gym!

*2025-08-21*

This app has so many benefits! It has been helping me so much personally and socially in the gym! It’s climb time!!

**Developer response:** So glad to hear it!!! Keep crushing it :)

### 5/5 — Good but not prefect

*2025-08-21*

So glad to have app to keep track on my climbing but it is not prefect there is still bug in the app. Keep up good work 🙂

**Developer response:** Thank you for the review! Always improving ClimbTime!

### 5/5 — Great for the Climbing Community!

*2025-08-21, version 6.9.2*

This app is a great opportunity for our gym’s members to interact with their peers and track their progress on the wall!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Scam, Decent app

*2026-06-14*

The app is decent for tracking routes, but the point system is a scam. Had a friend attempt to cash out on the bouldering pad after religiously using the app but was denied and had to email and pester the company to redeem the reward. Many others have tried to redeem smaller rewards and the app spins endlessly. The developers obviously had no intent to actually reward users for the engagement.

### 1/5 — Steven fafel is a child.

*2026-06-09*

Steven fafel, the ceo of this app is an immature moron who can’t emotionally handle a negative review. In fact, id go one step further and call him a scammer. This entire app revolves around the idea that you can earn free shoes and equipment, but if you dare to try to redeem the items you earn, they’ll do everything in their power to prevent you getting the items, and be rude to you in the process. If you’re lucky enough to actually get the items promised, they’ll be AliExpress rubbish, cheap and disposable. Don’t bother emailing, or messaging the people running the app on any other platform then the reviews here, because they’ll ignore enough criticism until it actually effects what matters most to them, their bottom line. These people don’t care about uniting climbers, or improving the experience. The app is a janky mess.

### 1/5 — Scam

*2026-06-07*

Multiple people have tried using their reward points in an attempt to redeem advertised products on the app only for them to not honor the purchase and then hyper inflate the prices on products. Dishonest business practices in a niche community should not be acceptable.

### 1/5 — Scam

*2026-04-08*

App bugs all the time. They used to give you 7 points for logging a climb, now it’s down to 5. And if you are consistently climbing and doing the V0s for warm up multiple times, the app only gives you 0.99 point. And to top it off, when you finally want to cash out your hard earned rewards, they never send the product and then they ghost you. App is a scam.

### 1/5 — Misleading

*2026-03-13*

Really disappointed with any attempt to redeem a prize. They lead you to believe you are accruing points for a prize you can redeem in their rewards shop. However when I tried to redeem they told me they would not honor it and cited limits on how points can be accrued by activity which is not listed in any other location. Following the math with the point system and limits they described it would take over a year of referring users and maintaining a daily streak to get any of the high point value prizes. Just really disappointed with the misleading nature of their rewards systems and honoring their prizing. Won’t be using their app anymore.

### 1/5 — App issues

*2026-02-18, version 7.7.5*

App name sounds like chat came up with it. App takes a while to load and randomly closes when I’m in the middle of a climb.

### 1/5 — Putting free features behind paywall

*2026-01-12, version 7.7.1*

Tracking my routes WAS a free feature. After the forced update it is now behind a paywall.

### 1/5 — Only has US climbs

*2025-08-28*

Please add UK climbing walls! I know you will get so many more customers and I will certainly change my opinions if you do.

**Developer response:** Hey Samir! We would love to be in more gyms but the gym has to work with us to get on the app. It's 100% free for gyms any any gym can go to our website at climbtimeapp.com to sign up. There is still a lot of value with the app if your gym is not on. If you email us at hello@climbtimeapp.com we will help get your gym on the app.

### 2/5 — App Support is Nonexistent

*2026-07-30*

The app as a whole is cool for tracking climbs, but it’s super buggy when redeeming rewards. I’ve tried redeeming my rewards multiple times, and it never goes through to actually submit for the item. I tried reaching out to their support team through the app over email and via phone with multiple follow ups, and I still haven’t heard back in over two weeks. The point values change constantly, so it makes reaching a goal within the app basically unattainable.

### 2/5 — Looks good, minimal value

*2026-06-04*

The design and gui is good. The app pings me daily about unneeded things. It's kind of social networking combined with a game. Most of the users are inactive. You can't delete messages so are stuck with an inbox for of your old sent mail. No tech support available.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — good app

*2026-03-19, version 7.7.6*

climb and collect points to buy things cool concept

### 5/5 — Best Gym Climbing App!

*2026-01-13*

Love this app. If your gym isn’t in the network ask them to join. Not only is it the easiest app to navigate and log climbs but you gain points towards free gear! I had a suggestion on how to improve the app and was able to message the co-founder and the next day the suggestion was added and updated! Great climbers behind the scenes that really understand the struggles of logging climbs and getting better each route! Download today!

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for the kind review! We will keep making it the best app to use at the climbing gym!

### 5/5 — Cool app

*2026-01-05*

I actually do enjoy this app, there are really cool rewards you can earn points up too but even if your not using it for gear purposes, it’s great for logging your climbs and keeping track of what you’ve done, plenty of times I’m like did I climb this before, well now I can go back and look. It’s also really cool to compete against your friends and other gym goers, best of all no ads and it’s completely free so why not, gives me something to do on breaks as well!

**Developer response:** Thank for the great review and I'm glad you're loving the app!!

### 5/5 — Good boy
