## What is CliqTags Nearby?

By using beacon technology (Eddystone-URL), QR codes and NFC tags, all containing URLs, you can provide information about the surroundings, be it for proximity marketing, tourist information, digital signage etc.

Beacons make themselves known meters away, as opposed to QR codes and NFC tags where the user has to be proactive.

CliqTags Nearby is optimized for use with CliqTags (https://cliqtags.com), but can also be used generally.

It fetches basic meta data from the linked to site, to better express what the user will see when clicking on any site button.

CliqTags Nearby is based on beacon technology developed by Google that was initially provided via Google Chrome and the Physical Web app, but no longer. CliqTags Nearby comes to the rescue providing that functionality and more, and there's a broad range of beacons to buy, for any use case. Just see to that they support Eddystone-URL.
