### 3/5 — App very limited compared to web version

*2026-08-06, version 2.16.17*

I use this primarily to track time for virtual team members. The website version of Clockify is very detailed and I love it. I can see reports that show how many hours each team member worked plus what projects and specifically what tasks. But in the mobile app I can see hours and projects but not the tasks they’re spending time on. I’d love to be able to see that on the go in the app — it’s the 2nd main thing I need the app for.

### 2/5 — Good timer, but has logout issues

*2026-08-05, version 2.16.17*

Timesheet on iphone doesn't show weekly totals. But the ability to see my live daily/weekly totals is a major reason I use this over the alternatives. Logs out and requires an emailed code.

### 3/5 — etwas buggy

*2026-08-04*

### 4/5 — Needs an update

*2026-07-29, version 2.16.16*

Id love for the mobile app to have the PLAY/ resume button like the desktop has. Switching between projects is tasking enough but to have to manually search through projects is too annoying. So just clicking PLAY (to resume a previous project would be amazing)
Everytime i switch projects it takes SEVEN CLICKS To choose the project im timing… thats way too many taps. That doesnt include thr STOP button to star a new project (resume an old one).

### 4/5 — Good timer

*2026-07-15, version 2.16.16*

Timesheet on iphone doesn't show weekly totals. But the ability to see my live daily/weekly totals is a major reason I use this over the alternatives.

### 3/5 — Removed option to export as CSV. PDF export totals now don’t add up

*2026-07-10*

Have been using this app for a number of years to record working from home hours so I can claim on my tax Tried to export last financial years records in CSV from the desktop version but this option now requires paying for an update you can still ! export a months records as a PDF but the total hours shown in the PDF don’t add up the to daily records in the same document have had to add up all the records using a calculator to get the correct total - it shouldn’t be this difficult I’m now using aTimeLogger which allows exports in CSV and the total are always correct

**Developer response:** Hi Mike, thank you for the review! That is correct, reports ranges over 1 month range and CSV/Excel export options (alongside the billable feature) are now moved to our paid plans, starting on the Basic plan. Users can still do a yearly export on the free plan via the settings, but the billable rates and total amount info is only available on any of our paid plans or free trial. For any issues or questions about it, please reach out to our support team at support@clockify.me and we'll be happy to provide more details

### 3/5 — Can’t master the basics

*2026-06-27, version 2.16.15*

This app logs you out all the time for no reason. Then they make you sign in with an email code only - no password or sms option - so you’re stuck waiting 10 minutes for the code. Truly ridiculous.

### 2/5 — Report limit

*2026-06-26*

I suddenly can’t extract full year report.

**Developer response:** Hi there! Reports ranges over 1 month are now available on any paid plan. For any issues, please reach out to our support team at support@clockify.me and we'll be more than happy to investigate it for you.

### 4/5 — Custom report error

*2026-06-25, version 2.16.15*

Why am I getting this message after using this feature for over a year. “Your workplace subscription plan doesn’t support the selected date range “ when trying to run a custom report

### 2/5 — Issues with last update

*2026-06-25, version 2.16.15*

This has historically been a really good app, but I noticed that today I can no longer view reports by year. Please fix this.

### 2/5 — Quick Warning Before Download!

*2026-06-16*

2 Reasons to be concerned about using this app long term captured below.

As a product manager that has worked for many large companies, Cake/Clockify made a recent update that caught many users by surprise and gated functionality aggressively.

While having free vs paid functionality is common, removing free functionality that people depend on for workflows is typically done with months of advance notice. Recent changes such as export to Excel and date ranges of reporting have been moved from free to paid. Every feature has a cost to maintain, this is common. Reporting can be a heavy cost if don’t managed well. So sometimes things need to migrate from free to paid.

There are two issues:

1. A company should think long and hard about changing free functionality, and how that impact user base is in workflows. A company that has analytics and can see how much core functionality is being used. There are arguments that Data storage and reports and things like that can create cost, but there are ways of working around that as well. I’ve managed the development of 13 globally used application mobile and web applications. I know.

2. If you have all of that information, and you only provide a month’s worth of notice. They clearly communicate something about priority. The goal is that when you go to get a drink of water, all of a sudden it cost three dollars.

The core application still works well. It has certainly saved me from vibecoding my own application or relying on other applications that I consider subpar.

Unfortunately, given how things have been handled, I’ve instructed my employees and organizations that I consult for to migrate to other solutions. Perhaps this is what Cake wants, but it doesn’t feel like the respectful way to move forward.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your honest opinion, we greatly value any feedback.

After almost 10 years of giving generous, unlimited users Free plan, we recently updated our Free plan to keep Clockify reliable, fast, and maintain long term sustainable infrastructure for all our users in today’s climate.

We still offer unlimited time tracking and various core features on the Free plan for small start ups and teams - and will continue to do so!

An in-app notification detailing these changes was displayed a month ago to prepare our free users in advance for the changes.

### 3/5 — Nice app but extra clicks for no reason

*2026-05-30, version 2.16.15*

Hitting the + button now requires extra clicks to get the timer to start. Every single app is following this suit of extra clicking to do the same things as previously and it’s obnoxious. The whole point of a time logging app is to log time.

### 2/5 — Never had to sign into any app this often

*2026-05-29, version 2.16.15*

I sign into this app with username and password and I am constantly asked to sign in again, and then I need to get the code sent to me via email.

I have never ever known any other app that needs me to constantly sign in.

Every. Single. Time.

### 2/5 — Nach Update ineffizienter

*2026-05-21*

### 2/5 — Lost all my data

*2026-04-23, version 2.16.11*

Boooo!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Bait and switch scam artists

*2026-08-14, version 2.16.17*

My company was on their free plan until they decided they wanted to be greedy and force my company onto one of their paid scam plans. I would never do business with these dishonest scam artists ever again they are the scum of the earth and I hope they go out of business

### 1/5 — Hidden fees

*2026-08-07, version 2.16.17*

Kiosk is a paid feature, this was not well communicated before setting this up. Easier to just make a custom python script and save money

### 1/5 — Horrible experience

*2026-08-05, version 2.16.17*

This app is designed very poorly. Logging hours is frustrating and unnecessarily difficult, at least in my experience. The interface is confusing, and completing simple tasks takes far more effort than it should. I would not recommend this app to anyone. If I could give it 0 stars, I would.

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2026-08-03, version 2.16.17*

Been using since 23 and just find out I can no longer access past years without upgrading. Not worth it, pure garbage, skip it and find something better.

### 1/5 — Free tier downgraded

*2026-07-07, version 2.16.15*

I’m ok with a limited free version. I’m not ok with having to pay for features that once were available for free.

### 1/5 — Was great, now a pain

*2026-07-06, version 2.16.15*

I am the sole employee of my small business, no longer use contractors, and now I can’t set my billable rates. Struggling enough as it is, and now they want to charge for the ability to set your own rates. Add annoying advertisements or something lol. Hourly rate can’t be stressing your coding comparative to all of your other available tools.

### 1/5 — Only use it if you plan to pay.

*2026-06-30, version 2.16.15*

The free features are becoming more and more limited. You can only see a month of history in the reports tab. Until recently it used to be a full year. If you use it for free you will continue to be squeezed

### 1/5 — All time entry’s deleted

*2026-05-07*

So I’ve been using Clockify for about a week, and I got an email saying I had a free 7-day trial of Clockify Pro without even realizing it. I went to check if anything would get deleted because I thought I might lose features or data, but it looked like nothing important was affected.

Then I went into settings and saw a cool option to turn off 24-hour time, but it wouldn’t let me because I was in Forced Offline Mode, which tracks time even without Wi-Fi. So I turned Forced Offline Mode off, changed the 24-hour time setting, and suddenly all my entries disappeared.

My folder is still there and labeled correctly, but my project and the entire week of entries are completely gone. I already tried turning Forced Offline Mode back on and switching 24-hour time back, but nothing reverted. If this was an intentional feature to remove all my entries after going online again, this app is horrible having no heads up.

**Developer response:** Hi there, thank you for the detailed feedback! Can you please reach out to us at support@clockify.me so we can tackle and troubleshoot this further? Looking forward to hearing from you there!

### 1/5 — Horrible App!!!!!

*2026-04-14, version 2.16.11*

Horrible!!!! Lost all the data. Don’t use it. Highly unreliable

### 1/5 — Worked great until it did not

*2026-04-02, version 2.16.11*

App crashed today and will not work

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great for basic needs

*2026-08-14, version 2.16.17*

I use Clockify to keep track of my time spent on a freelance project. It is simple to use and works great for my use case.

### 5/5 — Very useful!

*2026-06-17, version 2.16.15*

Very simple and easy to operate. Great have to have!

### 5/5 — Easy and clean

*2026-05-29*

As a service electrician I often go more than 4 places a day doing multiple different types of work that require different cost codes and breakouts. This app is easy clean and super reliable. It took my time filling out my Timecard and cut it in half. Literally in half. It adds up all the things for me and makes for no corrections or disputes on my Timecard too. No notebook to keep track of because it’s on my phone. I know I can do so much more with it especially on a computer, but all I need is the time tracking capabilities and this is EXACTLY what I needed. I recommend it to everyone.

**Developer response:** Hi there, thank you for your review!
Glad you like the app and that it helps with your workflow!

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2026-05-28, version 2.16.15*

Unfortunately, I have very little time management sense. This app definitely helps me. Easy to use and easy to get help.

### 5/5 — Commission Sales Time & Expense Tracking

*2026-05-08*

A very smooth and so far flawless app one of the best so have seen so far

**Developer response:** Thank you for the 5-star review! We're glad to hear your feedback! If you have questions or if there's anything else we can do to help, don't hesitate to reach out to us directly at support@clockify.me - Cheers!

### 5/5 — Best Free Time Tracker!

*2026-05-03, version 2.16.13*

Clockify has been great for tracking my hours since I started my business!!

### 5/5 — Great App

*2026-04-02, version 2.16.11*

This app functions great. It throws a lot of errors but none of them ever actually impact functionality. UI is clear and user friendly. Love it!

### 5/5 — Absolut genial

*2026-03-31*

Einfach zu bedienen, kann alles, was ich brauche und mehr, sehr großzügiger Funktionsumfang bei der kostenlosen Nutzung

### 5/5 — Super Tool in Free Version

*2026-03-25*

### 5/5 — Incredible Timesheet System

*2026-03-03*

This has to be one of the simplistic easiest and greatest timesheet management system I’ve ever used. Very much recommend

**Developer response:** Hi Michael,
Thanks for the feedback!
We are so glad to hear you're loving the experience so far. Happy tracking!
