It skips entire words and/or makes up words you didn’t prompt. Apple won’t refund the £20 monthly subscription, so a waste of money at this point. It’s a shame as it started to improve in huge leaps. To start off with, I’ll say that I got what I wanted out of this app once I learned how to use it and am satisfied in the end. Theres a lot of complaints from other reviews because of how pricey this app can be, and that’s the only reason I’m not giving a full 5 stars. You upload a recording of a voice you have through a few different options that it gives you. You can upload as many recordings as you want to help itself clone the voice as much as it can. The more, the better. TYPING/CHARACTERS: Without a subscription, you are limited to 100 characters. This was a struggle for me while I tried to find the right words to keep included, while using the excessive punctuation that is NEEDED in order for the AI bot to properly pronounce the words how you want it to. This is an example for anyone who is wanting to learn how to manipulate the wording: goood morning!!....I hope you have a LOVELY day!!....and know I’m thinking about you!!.…keep it up!! That is exactly 100 characters. The recording comes out to 5 seconds, nothing more than 10 if you’re lucky with just that. You can’t take out the periods because the bot will spit out the words in a rapid fire, even if you put just 1-3 periods instead, so I’ve learned to use 4 minimum for the pauses between sentences. You can’t take out the exclamation points because it will cause the voice to sound completely monotone, miserable, or angry. You can see I split up a sentence in the middle to prevent said rapid fire through it and to keep the happy emotion up in the produced recording. It’s really a pick or choose with what you want it to say and how you want it to be said. TOKENS: You get 10 free tokens to start off with which was thankfully all I needed. Each token is used to provide one AI voice recording that you make, which is why you have to QUICKLY learn how to manipulate the words by what you type before using up all your free tokens trying to figure it out. Keep in mind that you don’t get 10 tokens per voice, you only get 10 tokens overall. For example; you can make 5 different voices but only make 2 recordings out of each of them before they’re all used up. HELPFUL TIP/SUGGESTION If you’re looking to get a long recording but you don’t want to buy the subscriptions, I suggest pre-typing out what you want to be said and break it up into different sections with the 100 character limit in mind for each one. That way, you can enter in each section at a time and download each recording it makes, then properly put each of those short recordings together in order to get one long voice recording. CONCLUSION: End result, I say it’s worth it. It’s nothing to get it and you get 10 free recordings out of it. You aren’t forced to pay a subscription afterwards, only if you want to continue getting more recordings after your limit, or if you want to raise the character limit. I’m aware that you have made a recent update to Clony a few days ago and I gave my saved voices a test. Unfortunately, they still sounded different to how they always sounded. I’d greatly appreciate it if you could try to fix them again to where they sound normal again. While the new look for the app is nice, I don’t like how my saved voices sound now. I had this same problem with a previous update you made to the app a few months ago and you were able to correct it. Thank you again for that. Now I have the same problem yet again. Not happy with the results. If you can’t make the voices sound like they were again, I am finished with using the app. I understand you make updates to the app every now and again, but can you please try to not let it ever affect my saved cloned voices? We made some minor adjustments so previously created voices shouldn't be affected by the AI model update any more. ### 1/5 — downgrade *2026-03-15, version v106 Bugs fixed* you all recently updated the voice models to show more emotion and sound more life like. it was great! believe it was v88. now you’ve gone back on that, essentially downgrading the voice models again. why?! ### 1/5 — Please for the love of god remove the text file *2026-02-04, version v100* If 1000 characters is going to continue to be 20 dollars a month, then please for the love of god remove the text file that says “look what I did!” that uploads with every single audio file. It’s obnoxious, it’s useless, and it makes storing files in a specific order even harder than it already was. I was uploading a series of voice notes into a Dropbox folder and every upload included the audio file AND a text file that only gives a link to clony, not even a transcript of what the audio says. It allowed a weird work around to where I could name ever file the exact same thing making the already tedious process of renaming each file so they go in order even more tedious. Between the high price and now this useless feature, I’m heavily considering finding another app. ### 1/5 — Latest update isn’t so great. *2026-01-28* Just downloaded the most recent update to Clony AI. The improved AI models aren’t so great. Went to test out all of my saved voices and none of them sounded the same as the way they did before the update. They were completely different to me. Even the built in voices like Adam (Energetic, social media) sounded completely different. Wasn’t happy with the end results of how each voice sounded with the latest update. If there is nothing you can do about this or fix them back to the way they were for whatever reason, then I’m sorry to say this, but I am finished with using Clony AI. Firstly make sure you take a clean clear recording of your voice, secondly, make sure you use punctuation…. It DOES affect how the AI reads the script… you know… use “…?!:” etc also sometimes you’ll have one or two words that are a little bit difficult for the AI to pronounce…. In these instances, it’s a simple fix again,you can spell words differently to make the AI say the word how you wanted it to sound. For example, it struggled with “possess”… so I re-wrote it as “pozehss”, and it said it much better.
