It has always had some bugs, but nothing that I couldn’t look past. Now, I can barely get into the app! Probably 9/10 times, an error message appears and I have to force quit and try again. So frustrating as I already have all of my clothes uploaded and starting over with a different app will be a nightmare! Very disappointed, I truly hope they fix the issues so I can start using this app again. ### 2/5 — Don’t bother unless you have excellent wifi *2018-09-11, version 3.1.2* I guess this seems like an obvious thing, but the app seems to be absolutely unusable if you’re on anything other than data or a really strong network. On my average speed home network, the app pretty much crashes within minutes of opening. Not only do I constantly have to reopen the app between activities, items take forever to save. For whatever reason, it takes me almost 10 - 15 minutes of constant re-saving to upload one item and even then it’s not guarantee that the image will be uploaded which is another 5 - 10 minutes of effort. I like the concept and appreciate that this is a free app but with the slow and glitchy interface I’d almost rather splurge on the other styling apps on the market. ### 3/5 — Too buggy *2018-09-04, version 3.1.2* This app doesn’t do everything I’d like but it would be usable if it didn’t crash so much. I sometimes have to add an item five times before it goes through. Same for changing item details, creating outfits, etc. other apps I could upload half a dozen photos at once, with Closet Space I’m lucky to create one item in the same amount of time ### 3/5 — Would be such a great app *2018-09-03, version 3.1.2* This is such a great app I personally really enjoy it. I have a major issue however. The app is always crashing! I’ve never had an app that crashes so much. I’m just trying to add in some items and it always crashes out then I have to redo them and it gets quite frustrating. Please fix this issue it is really bad. ### 3/5 — Liked it *2018-07-29, version 3.1.2* I used to love this app. But I have second thoughts about it now. When I upload an article of clothing and it takes me longer than seven seconds, the screen turns black and it exits the app. Very frustrating. It also says “error” every 5 seconds when I’m not uploading an outfit. It’s a great ideas though but the crash ruins it. I’ve tried restarting my phone, I’ve tried deleting the app and signing back in to my account but it still happens. It would have been my favorite app ever, but this ruins everything. ### 2/5 — So frustrating *2018-06-30, version 3.1.2* So I spent all morning trying to use the app. It has required fields but then not enough categories in those fields to Choose an appropriate answer- which is annoying. So for example theres a category for type of clothing and then not an option for a skirt ? I mean that’s not rocket science. Also the app kept crashing right before I saved an outfit and would then have to redo the whole thing. The link to upload an image from a website never worked. All in all this was a huge waste of time. ### 2/5 — Lots of function, TERRIBLE on data *2018-01-03, version 3.1.2* I love that I can keep track of my items with this. I wish there were more “custom” tags to add to my items rather than just the ones they listed. I hate the fact that I need to use a MASSIVE amount of mobile data just to check if I have something in my closet already. I understand it’s so I can “see what’s around me” or connect to their network or blah blah blah, but it’s pretty ridiculous I need all that just to see MY stuff. I might as well just keep pictures on my phone or use a different app. ### 3/5 — Could be great... *2017-10-14, version 3.1.2* I have been using this for a year and unfortunately I have to change my review. I thought this was a great app but I feel like it's very basic. While making outfits you can't even rearrange where each item of clothing is on the page so you aren't able to get a good idea of what the outfit will look like. For example, the shoes are at the top of the page, shirts at the bottom. It's just not practical. It's not a horrible app and adding items of clothing is easy...it's just not the best option, that's all. ### 4/5 — Good App with Possible Improvements *2017-08-17, version 3.1.2* I highly enjoy how this app organizes all your clothes, but there are some improvements that could be made. For examples, if you pick an item it should suggest possible outfits based on the color and style. Second, it should show the outfits that the item is a part of so you don't have to search for the outfits if you want to wear that specific item. Another suggestion I have is that there should be a tutorial in the beginning explaining how to use the app because it is very complex when you don't know where the tabs are at first. Plus, it would be much better if it was possible to add more than one picture per item, like the front and back of the item. ### 4/5 — Stylist Tool *2017-06-14, version 3.1.2* I've been using this app for awhile now and it's has been working great with my outfit for the day and planning for my future looks. I also like that I can save items I've came across to purchase in the future or if I can use it for a upcoming fashion project ### 3/5 — Good App With Minor Issues *2016-12-15, version 3.1.2* I really love this app because it's a great way to organize my clothes, create outfits, and set dates for each one. There are a few minor issues though that I would really like to see fixed. When I'm adding an item and turn off my phone or go to another app, the items will delete and I'll have to add them all over again. Also, when I title an outfit, it will sometimes delete the title randomly. Finally, I'd like to be able to add an outfit to multiple dates on my calendar by tapping all the dates I want to wear it on. This would be efficient because I have a uniform and it's annoying to add it over and over to my calendar each month. Otherwise, great job with this app, it's awesome! ### 3/5 — Good but could use one fix *2016-10-07, version 3.1.2* I've only entered about 15 items so far in this app, I've loved the idea of a closet app because I always forget what's in my closet and end up wearing the same things. I did however notice that there are some brands of clothing not available and since I HAVE to put in a brand and there is not 'other' option for the clothing because myself, and I'm sure other people, have shirts from places like universal studios and Disneyland and it makes it difficult. That's why I think an 'other' option would just cover it all. ### 3/5 — I like it BUT... *2016-09-02, version 3.1.2* I really wish I could organize the order of the items that I have in the different categories. Also, The app will be much better if there was an option to customize the clothing type categories ex: it's very frustrating that There is no category for jumpers/ playsuits/ rompers. It's the thing I have the most of and no category matches it , they're not dresses , pants or skirts !!!!! Please add a category for Rompers !!!! This app NEEDS an update. This app could easily be sooo much better ### 4/5 — Good for a free app *2016-08-06, version 3.1.2* I've been using the app for a few days and I enjoy using it. It organizes my clothes easily by brand and style. I also like that you can type in what kind of brand and style of clothing. I also really like the tags for weather and temperature. I haven't seen that on any other closet organization apps which makes this app very useful to me. It doesn't close randomly so that's good. I'd like to see if you could have a background eraser for clothes. I wish this app would work offline. Overall, this app performs well for it being free. ### 3/5 — Lots of potential *2016-07-23, version 3.1.2* I used this app for a while, quit for a couple of years, then came back and remembered why I quit - it seems really great on the surface, and you don't really see the frustrating parts until you've already invested a lot of time. Pros: Can access on both computer and mobile. Keeps track of cost per wear. Allows you to plan and schedule outfits. Cons: Photos do not save consistently (no rhyme or reason; not tied to file size or type, mobile vs desktop, or anything else as far as I can tell) - the same item may say it has saved the image 5 different times but always deletes the picture as soon as you navigate away, yet if you create a duplicate item using the same picture it might work...very frustrating. Not all info fields are available on either mobile app or on desktop (if you want to enter all the information about any one item you have to switch back and forth). Organization of shelves is not modifiable and sometimes unintuitive (eg shoes and socks both go under 'footwear' but tights or stockings go under 'intimates'; 'jeans' are a separate category from 'pants and shorts' but denim shorts are under the 'pants and shorts' category). Can't share closet URL with friends who aren't using the app - if you try to send an email invite, it gives you a link to your closet (supposedly) but the link doesn't work - obviously they originally planned to have this functionality but gave up on it. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Horrible *2021-03-06, version 3.1.3* I can’t even rate how the app works because I can’t get in. I tried multiple times to sign up but it never works. It doesn’t say anything. I click the sign up button and nothing happens. I tried going to the website and the same thing happened. Am I the only experiencing this? Anyways that was annoying and a complete waste of my time. So the app will be getting deleted. ### 1/5 — Glitching, seemingly not going to be fixed *2020-01-13, version 3.1.3* Years of my data seems to have vanished, which is extremely disappointing. After trying other apps that do similar things, this was hands-down the best version of this kind of app. Seems pretty clear to me that many users (myself included) would pay for an actual functioning version of this. Just remove the Facebook login thing that seems to be causing this issue, no one needs this app to connect to Facebook. ### 1/5 — Lots of Issues; No Support *2019-07-22, version 3.1.3* Out of the choices for apps like these, I regret I picked this one. It doesn’t arrange the outfits the way I’d like - just puts each separate item into a square in random order so shows might be on the top, etc., - but I dealt with that. It was only when I could no longer upload any new pictures of any kind that I got very frustrated. It takes a very long time to photograph your wardrobe. If you do, there’s no turning back. I did on this app and now I’m pretty much out of luck. I’ve tried to contact them multiple times about the error messages I’m getting and no one has ever responded. If there was an issue or bug I get it- as long as someone helps you or fixes it. But they seem content with bugs I guess. A huge investment in time for nothing. Wish I’d try the others I looked at. ### 1/5 — Good idea, unsusable *2019-03-12, version 3.1.3* Seems like a great idea, but it is completely unusable. The app is so buggy that it crashes and gives constant error messages. As the developer suggests, I deleted the app and downloaded it again, now I’m unable to login, I keep getting invalid user or password error message, I have reset my password twice and still the same annoying message. By the way, I can log in to their web page, which is extremely slow, it just hangs. They really need to get a new programmer. ### 1/5 — No longer supported *2018-11-08, version 3.1.2* I have used this ap for 5 years. I recorded my outfit everyday. I LOVED it. I also have 5 years of data that I can no longer access. The ap is no longer supported or updated. My favorite part of this ap was being able to determine cost per wear. I also liked having pictures of all my clothes when I was shopping. Very sad and disappointed that I can no longer open this ap. ### 1/5 — Bye *2018-09-22, version 3.1.2* I put in hundreds of items and it’s slow and crashes but it shouldn’t. So many bugs, the website doesn’t work, and it won’t even open right now. I bought that $4 closet app and once this app decides to open I’m transferring all my data. Waste of time. I’ve had it with all these bugs that are never fixed no matter what you say. Every time I try entering an item, it’s only a couple of seconds before it crashes. I’m out. ### 1/5 — Once again an app that asks for my gender *2018-04-19, version 3.1.2* Im so sick of all these styling apps limiting my fashion to arbitrary definitions of gender. Im nonbinary and my fashion sense comes from both ends of the spectrum of masculine and feminine all the way to androgynous fashion. Change your limitations and allow people to select from both sides. Even cisgendered people sometimes pick from both sides of the rack, all kinds of women wear mens jeans and button ups in their daily fashion. I will not continue to use your product until these arbitrary blocks on clothes are removed. ### 1/5 — Would be awesome if I didn't need SO MUCH INFO FOR ONE ITEM *2016-01-02, version 3.1.2* I would really like this app IF it wasn't mandatory to enter meaningless information, like color, brand name, or when it was bought....why are brand or date purchased even relevant for creating an outfit?! It's not even like you can skip these steps, you have to put in the info or it doesn't let you go on and save the item. Other than this time consuming & annoying step, the app is good. ### 1/5 — Agreed, AGONY entering in item info. *2015-05-22, version 3.1.2* I've loved the idea of a closet app and this one is the closest to what I like as far as IF and organization. But UGH. I'm aware that there's no complete thing as privacy and we are being tested and surveyed for marketing purposes every time we enter something online/on our phones (whether you like it or not). A perfect example of such is having it MANDATORY to enter where we purchased our item (check box of online!). What if there are unknown brands that were gifts? Like another user said, it's AGONY and 5 shoes and shirts in I didn't think it to be worth it. I'll be using another closet app and recommending others over this one. But really, besides that it is a lovely design, but I shouldn't have to feel like a lab rat or judged when choosing outfits from my own closet. ### 2/5 — Bugs but useful app *2019-09-17, version 3.1.3* Love this app, lots of bugs. I use this app every day- except it is hard to keep updating it because it takes it so long to load! This app has made my life easier and helped me as I try to organize and make the most of my minimalist wardrobe. This app helps me reduce the number of decisions I have to make every day about my clothes. I just with the app worked better, loaded faster, so I could use it more often!!! ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Great app *2017-01-12, version 3.1.2* My goal for the year is to save money (i.e. much less shopping), so I downloaded this app as a way to see and to use/reuse all of my existing clothes. I have a small and PACKED closet and I often forget about things I own. This app has already solved that problem. I've spent the past week diligently inputting my clothes, and I am so happy with the results. You can sort by color, pattern, brand, style, etc which is awesome!! It's so easy to create outfits and plan the week on the go, and then getting ready for work is a breeze. I feel like Cher in Clueless!! I think it is well worth the time to add all of the optional information, as it enhances the ways you can sort your digital closet. Plus, it's free!! Two thumbs up, gold star, 10/10, all of the positive sayings. ### 5/5 — Seven Hours of My Life... NOT WASTED! *2016-11-22, version 3.1.2* I was looking for something to do when I was bored. Now, I am never bored because I am either making new outfits or taking pictures of my clothes! Yesterday, I spent 7 hours on my phone putting in my whole closet, and I am not even done yet! I love how you have to put in the brand of your clothing because I have found out so much more about myself! The only thing I would change is that I wish you could name each clothing item. I mostly use it as more of a wish list of clothes I can't get at the moment, but don't want to forget them. I really like this app and it helps me organize. I have a few ideas however, that could make it better. 1. When you put in info, add a details box so you can type in any other information you would like to add 2. Make your color choice unlimited or at least not than three. 3. You can click weather and it will show you some inspiration. The only thing I have against this app, is that every time you open the app, it sends you to a automatic account that didn't have your wardrobe in it. Closet Space has been the perfect tool for me!! ### 5/5 — Free and Helpful *2015-08-09, version 3.1.2* I really like this app. Ones similar to it force you to upgrade to a paid option after a certain number of items (who has only 10 articles of clothing?) but this app doesn't force you to upgrade. I also get their daily inspiration emails - I'm not a huge fashionista but it is fun to get the outfit suggestions in the morning and they really do try to personalize it to your style and lifestyle.
