So you can trim out a mistake for example. And yeah mp3 coversion would be nice as well. It would be 5 stars but the editing is only for the ends of the audio. ### 4/5 — Big fan of Yamaha *2012-12-31, version 1.0.3* Have been since my fully loaded Motif ES (not to mention my beloved AN1x) Anyway, I request more editing functionality. As others have mentioned, use more screen real estate for waveform display/editing window. I would also like to be able to manually move around the recording with some accuracy. I got this app not only for my loyalty, but also as a more secure alternative to the FiRe app that I have used with great satisfaction for many years. That being said, this app appeals to me not only in the fact that. It comes from Yamaha, but also because of the inclusion of Soundcloud integration/archiving. Very important! Keep up the great work, updates, and further releases of iOS apps Yamaha...especially in the iOS synth department! ### 3/5 — Pls read,afew acorrection points *2012-08-11, version 1.0.2* Hello and thanks for this lovely app,i think this app is great and we have to appreciate yamaha for this lovely recorder,but i say my review; 1.it would be great and more analuge feel if the app user can turn the tapes by hand 2. While he touch the tapes by hand and turn them its better we hear scrach tape and head bums sound! 3.the i cloud icon better to be in edit menue and not in main screen as it kills real magnetic tape view. 4. While we press play and pass rewind buttons together better we hear tape sound and head pols pieces passing tape sound. 5.its better to change time line box in recorder more analuge or classic 6.why we havent 2 or 4 track recording! 7.more realistic by recording,when;tape starts to be thiner and in right hand tape become fatter 8.is it possible that this recorder connect to imac sound card wirelessly and a kind of connection with imac and record the sound from logic pro? P.S ### 4/5 — Almost Perfect *2012-05-01, version 1.0.1* I love the soundcloud upload and download features, as that's what won me over from Isaywhat?, my previous recorder of choice. My biggest complaint is the GUI. Why is so much of the screen taken up by the reel to reel player that isn't interactive? I'd much prefer to see either the waveform I'm recording or the level meter much larger. Also, I don't believe there is a way to adjust levels when making field recordings. Am I missing that? ### 4/5 — Exactly what I was looking for. *2012-04-26, version 1.0.1* I wanted a high quality recorder that I could use to quickly catalogue song ideas. I wanted a clean UI and some editing functionality. The ability to use audio recorded from this app in others via AudioCopy is the icing on the cake. Lacking one star for 2 reasons: 1. No retina support yet 2. I should be able to scrub the audio by manually turning the reels Hopefully more is coming in an update. Simple, no frills, basic editing and connected to SoundCloud easily, and was an aesthetically pleasing recorder for my iPad … but it no longer connects to SoundCloud … Yamaha says version 1.1.4 fixes that … uh, no it doesn’t … Same as always with ANYTHING Yamaha … cryptic, non intuitive, or too difficult to use … As a music pro, I AM DONE WITH YOU, YAMAHA! … No more mixers, monitors, instruments … nothing … Even my Yamaha acoustic piano won’t stay in tune despite its non-humid location, and the TOC it gets care … grrr … ### 1/5 — This app is a security risk. *2021-02-18, version 1.1.3* I found the documents folder from my Mac on my phone and stored by this app under the file sharing capability when the phone is syncing with the Mac. ### 1/5 — won't record on iPad 2 *2014-09-08, version 1.0.3* I have loaded this app twice and it won't record. I really despise audio apps being tied to the BS that is Soundcloud. App hasn't been updated since 2012 so I'm not hopeful for any fixes... ### 3/5 — Can't upload to soundcloud *2016-01-01, version 1.0.4* Recording function and interface seem to be good, but there is no was to see or configure sound file type or characteristics. Tired Form *2014-07-28, version 1.0.3* The app functions very well and the ability to record and upload to SoundCloud is a big plus, especially now that SC has removed the ability to record from their own app. But the skeuomorphic “reel-to-reel” interface is tired and inefficient. Not only is it completely out of step with the current iOS look and feel, but it’s awkward to use. The iPhone is best used in portrait orientation when recording and the best recorders recognize this. CAR’s clunky interface forces you into landscape orientation making it unwieldy to point the mic at your sound source and still have full command over the controls. Two stars off for that. Yamaha really should know better. It’s time for an update. ### 3/5 — Ok *2013-03-15, version 1.0.3* I will admit it has good sound quality! My only complaint is it records it in .wav????? Why I don't understand because iTunes doesn't accept this format!!!! The app is easy to use. It doesn't have volume control while recording but does have a built in volume limiter along with copy & paste function. I also have a analog studio with 7 pro RTR's. So as you can imagine I was excited to find this app. It looks great, functions like it is supposed to, has wave form editing and sounds good! I will be using this daily now. ### 5/5 — Digital deck with great analog look! *2014-07-26, version 1.0.3* Super sound quality, editing capability and some on board effects processing make this a great app for capturing and distributing live events. The Sound Cloud interface is on the go library access and delivery. I love when an app looks as great as it works. The reel to reel simulation sets it apart and gets looks of amazement when I use it on my iOS devices. Hooked up with an Apogee ONE using its internal mic and an old Radio Shack PZM. Cheating the DAC, but it sounds right to me. It allows you to not only record and upload to soundcloud but anything you have already uploaded or have in your favorites list that has downloads enabled,you can download those tracks/samples/songs right to your device through this app. The app has an interface that resembles the Korg apps,so if you are used to soundcloud interactions and song libraries in these apps you will feel comfortable in this one. The greatest thing this app allows is when you download ANY of the files from soundcloud and store them in the app you can select any of them and use the apps audio copy feature to send those files to the pasteboard to send into other apps on your device. This makes working on songs or downloading new samples from soundcloud truly mobile. You can upload and download as you'd like and move tracks in and out of all your other apps. Send them back up to soundcloud and download them right back again when you want to add more. The built in soundcloud download library has a nice "storage gauge" that always lets you know your devices memory status so you will always know how many tracks or files you can fit on the device. I had been waiting for an app like this since I started using soundcloud and apps that uploaded to there. For $2 bucks this gives you tons of flexibility to work with your soundcloud music while on the go without having to go back to a computer to download and transfer to work on stuff. ### 4/5 — Yamaha *2015-08-25, version 1.0.4* A top 10 app great for stage sound recording crisp and clean. One draw back no volume input control that I have been able to find....
