### 3/5 — Great concept but...

*2015-12-13*

The game loses focus on what made it interesting. You are no so much about in the journey but rather spend most of the game playing a glider racer/simulator.

If a racer is what is desired there are other ones out there.

Hope the authors come out with a way to lessen the time spent in the glider and focus the game on what is really good which is the concept of the journey and the story behind it.

### 3/5 — No save!

*2015-11-01, version 1.0.2*

This would be close to five stars if only you could save progress at cities. As it is I'm bored going over the same story line. Such a huge shame, as I really enjoy both the storyline and the flying.

### 4/5 — Hard-hitting tale of immigration

*2015-10-24*

This is a beautifully designed game that had me sitting there trying to get to the end city countless times. I died a lot at first, but you learn what to look for. However why I truly like this game is that it places you in the shoes of a migrant family that faces the (usually harsh) realities of migration. The game isn't really about the end, but about the troublesome and awesome interactions along the way as you see these social outcasts find their dream. (I also like that it's hard and make your restart after death)

### 3/5 — Aaaarrrgggghhhh no save.

*2015-10-24, version 1.0.2*

This is such a unique game spoils horribly because every time you die you have to start it all over again!!!!!

### 3/5 — Too many clouds to chase!

*2015-10-24*

I commend Cloud Chasers for its subject matter. It was the main reason I got the game. I was then delighted to find that the high difficulty of the game and many of its mechanics reflect its themes well.

However, I find myself having to chase every cloud I can just to survive. In my mind, the central objective of the game was to reach the Spire, but it actually feels more like to gather water, and reaching the Spire becomes very secondary because of this. So instead of having clouds as a means to reach the Spire, the Spire becomes an excuse to chase clouds, which doesn't sit well with me.

Also, I came across a bug that stopped Francisco in his tracks. His walking animation is active, but his position does not change. Exiting to the main menu and closing the app does not fix this. I can still move in the tutorial, or if I start a new journey, but hopefully I won't come across this bug again. (Happened after 3rd city for me)

That being said, there is a worthwhile challenge here. The water collecting sequences in the skies are varied enough to buffer the amount of times you'll have to do them. In them, you have to be smart about persevering or calling it quits each time, which is what makes it exciting. So for now, I'm still happy to chase clouds until I get to the Spire, if the game doesn't bug out again that is.

### 3/5 — Way too short

*2015-10-20*

I love the concept and the styling of the game. But in the end the game is way too short for this price. The game needs expansion both in terms of length and complexity.

### 3/5 — Beautiful, original, not fun

*2015-10-20, version 1.0.0*

Kudos for a good idea well executed with a nice graphic style. Unfortunately, it isn't fun.

### 3/5 — Major bug

*2015-10-18*

Cool game, until your character gets stuck on the screen and won't move no matter how many times you save and re-open the app, so you watch all the water you've collected slowly deplete to zero and then you die.

### 3/5 — Continuing

*2015-10-17, version 1.0.0*

Find the game fun! The Glider upgrades are good and make quite the difference. Haven't been able to continue yet. Is that a bug?

### 4/5 — Great Game

*2015-10-17*

The game is easy and fun to play but gets quite difficult very quickly. It requires a lot of thinking to get through. Get over dying often and you'll enjoy the journey quite a bit. Each landscape doesn't really change, just gets longer and longer so you just can't take a straight line through to the next city but have to explore and hope to find what you need. Very much worth it as it'll provide a lot of entertainment.

Positives:
Simple gameplay
Continually changing story
Requires a lot of strategy
Very fun
Pick up and play

Not so positives:
-Many simple grammatical errors
-Little to no replay value [it takes so many chances to finally beat that when you do beat it, you've seen just about everything. Does not provide anything extra once beaten]
-Tutorial is practically nonexistent [Took a while to finally understand what the items did or didn't do. The symbols used throughout the game are also not explained but are figured out through experience]

### 4/5 — Slow-like Rogue-like

*2015-10-16*

This game has a lot of promise, it's just extremely slow, for a game where death is the end it should have a faster pace to be easier to get into. Disappointing to spend laborious amounts of time crossing the dessert only to be killed in a random event, makes progress feel pointless and kills the fun quickly. Good game though if you don't mind all of that.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — This is a game about gliding with a small story to follow

*2016-05-24, version 1.0.3*

Played about 10 minutes, you have to play a gliding game to collect water every minute to keep from dying. Waste of money I did not buy this game to play as a girl riding a glider

### 1/5 — Strong Recommendations!

*2015-10-23, version 1.0.2*

This game can be really successful but it is extremely repetitive. It needs spot oasis where they can fill up and full recuperate. This must be an area where the player can save. If he does not make it to the next oasis, he goes back to the last saved one. NOT START ALL OVER AT THE BEGINNING!!!😡😡😡😡 😬😬😬

The game is too tedious to continue play the way it is. Waste of time....

### 1/5 — Interesting & frustrating

*2015-10-21, version 1.0.0*

This game could have been really good, the concept and story are interesting however you only get glimpses of the story in random encounters. The outcome of pretty much every single encounter will make your character loose health or water so running to the next city and collecting water is the only way to play.

But the most frustrating thing about this game is when your character gets stuck on absolutely nothing and walks on the spot continuously no matter what you do, as your water supply depletes by the second. This happened to me two play throughs in a row when I reached the fourth desert (2 from the end)

### 1/5 — Graphics are beautiful but there's little motivation to open this game

*2015-10-19*

The gaming experience is frustrating I'm close to regretting buying this game. You've been playing for a long time, your progress will suddenly be lost when you die of random circumstances. Please make it possible to save our progress from time to time, so it's continuous. I hate it that i have to start over and repeat the same things over and over. Also, it's a little difficult. I'll edit this once you improve it.

### 2/5 — Love it but update screwed it up.

*2016-06-30*

I really enjoy my journey every time i play. The recent update has caused problems though and the glider ends up going upside down and landing in the sky.

### 2/5 — Looked Good, But....

*2016-05-11*

Right up front in the tutorial things are not working properly, for instance when you pick up items one never seems to settle correctly into its box and when you go back to play, that one item is still sitting there in the middle of the desert. Then, steering the couple around everything went completely dead and they came to the edge of the screen and there was no more screen to move to. It's early. With all the malfunctions I've seen it deserves one star. I'm being generous.

### 2/5 — not sure

*2015-11-08*

looked real promising but maybe its just not the type of gaming I was looking for . lost interest real quick after a few bug crashes and there's no action when they say narrative that's what it means no action . if you love reading RPG stuff then this is for you . but I literally had my hands in the air saying "that's it?" read:truck slides to stop smoke fills air dude wipes his eyes soldier asks question hits girl with but of rifle , girl loses 3 points from injury . go back to wandering dessert . I guess it's not for my taste

### 2/5 — Where's the hope?

*2015-11-06*

More like hopeless! Random events exploring are too risky. There is no difficulty setting for a casual gamer. No saving progress. Everything changes from game to game, so strategizing is limited to... Don't run low on water and Do I want to risk going in that cave? Upgrades to glider are nice, but due to randomness of shops and exploring you have to get lucky to find them. Good luck playing for more than 15 mins before you die. Then you have to start over again from beginning.

### 2/5 — Tutorial is a mess

*2015-10-18, version 1.0.0*

I've restarted the tutorial 3 times now trying to finish it and each time I've run into a UI issue.

First time the UI lost my backpack item all together.

Second time a text box covered the close backpack button.

Third time I repaired the glider but the game didn't recognize it lost my repair kit and then just kept telling me to repair the glider.

### 3/5 — Buggy

*2016-07-12*

Finally made it to the 4th city. Left towards 5, and my character froze. Everything else was working, but he wouldn't move no matter what I did. Not ill, nothing broken...just stopped. This wouldn't be such a big deal if there was some sort of save progress mechanism...but now I've lost a solid 80 minutes of work. I understand that the Devs don't want a complete save, but something where you get dropped back at the last town without items might be a good trade off...

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Screen Size

*2019-01-10*

It would be perfect if support iPhone X series.

### 5/5 — One of the best

*2017-07-08*

This is one of the best survival story games that I have ever played. I really hope that a large company with this company can manage to get an expanded version onto a consul or the PC this game is well worth any money you spend on it.

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2016-07-02, version 1.0.4.3*

I genuinely love this game. It's difficult so you have to really think about how to play it. Too many games are easy to finish. This game isn't expensive either so I was well happy with it. Takes some figuring out but with some practice, skill and a bit of luck you can definitely finish the game!

### 5/5 — Add More Languages

*2016-07-02*

Please add Russian Language! Please Please Please

### 5/5 — Just one problem...

*2016-04-03, version 1.0.3*

When I get to the ending, the game crashes and I'm brought to my home screen. Please fix this.

Anyway...

The gameplay is simple enough: get to the next city, make smart decisions during semi-random encounters, collect water, and trade items.

The story, which I am still uncovering, is interesting enough: it's an immigration tale with a dystopian twist.

For better or worse, I'm certainly more interested in the setting and backstory than the characters. Apparently, people started to live in the sky, so they use machines to collect water. This breaks the rain cycle, causing widespread drought and forces our farming family to trek to...The Spire, which is this crystal thing.

Not that that's bad. I just see the characters as more a way to explore the setting.

I can't wait for there to be a wiki to this thing!

### 5/5 — Incredible

*2016-02-29*

I learned of the game while playing "First Strike" and decided to check it out. It's fun, a little challenging and absolutely amazing. This is probably the best game I've played all year.

### 5/5 — Great game with epic story

*2016-02-04*

This is a gem of a game with fun gameplay and an awesome, epic story and beautiful characters.

Difficulty levels were high enough that it got me going for days. I appreciated the balance in gameplay between flying glider and exploring the desert.

Story is more compelling and thoughtful than approximately 95% of other "story-driven" games out there.

Highly recommended.

### 5/5 — If the Oregon Trail game was set in a dystopian future this is what you'd get

*2015-11-03*

Super fun, smart, and beautiful. Best game I've bought in a long time. I love that it's challenging and forces you to make hard decisions.

### 5/5 — Amazing fresh fun game!

*2015-10-16*

I went ahead and got cloud chase. What a great game. Crossing the desolate landscape(that changes every game) the world has become a horrible desperate place. You have the choice to shelter your young daughter from the horrors the world has become or to show her and get involved. Friends and family leave their neighbors behind out of desperation to join the wealthy military to horde water and set up border patrols. Having alot of fun tonight.

### 4/5 — Buggy, but good

*2015-10-28*

I really like this game. It has great graphics and storyline. However, there are a few bugs: like items in your inventory won't work sometimes and will be floating on the screen. Also, sometimes you can't move after an event; you just walk in one spot, slowly losing water.

After playing for so long, I've mastered the different events and it's just become repetitious now. I hope you guys add new events and maybe some more items. I really think this game has potential, and hope to see some great updates in the future.
