### 3/5 — No spell check

*2021-05-02, version 2.5.6*

It’s a great outline app, but it doesn’t support any kind of spell check. It’s not great for dyslexics, but it’s perfect if you don’t need a grammar tool.

### 3/5 — Good but needs spell check

*2020-07-15, version 2.5.4*

The iphone version is pretty frustrating to use when everything stays misspelled

### 3/5 — Outliner

*2020-06-19, version 2.5.4*

Constructive criticism: Hard to use. Should be easier like MSWord

### 3/5 — Good but could be better

*2020-04-03, version 2.5.2*

I love the app itself, it made cranking out an outline for my novel easy but the export options aren’t great. I ended up having to export it in its own format and then copy and paste it to a word doc, and then format it again because it pasted weird.

### 4/5 — Wish I could just check bottom item

*2019-08-26, version 2.5.2*

Seems like a smooth app. I wish I could check of the bottom item on a tree without everything above it being check off.

### 4/5 — Very Smooth, Quick & Easy

*2019-06-18, version 2.5.2*

I’m ADD, so lists are the only way I keep organized and not forget everything I need to do. Nesting is essential to a listing app so that you can keep related tasks together without a lot of screen clutter. Many popular listing apps don’t get that. It’s a snap here.
Another essential element is the ability to move individual lines around easily. A long press and drag allows that in this app.
Color and emoji. Also to get my wandering mind’s attention. It’s here.
Lastly, the ability to add notes to each entry. Outliner requires a touch of a button on a tool bar to add/edit these which isn’t my favorite feature. I prefer not to leave the entry to be able to do that. I can get over it.
The last thing I like that helps me is to change the background color. That sounds picky but again pure, staring-into-the-sun bright white is distracting to me. And black is too dark (Do I sound like Goldilocks?) That’s my issue and the developers probably didn’t mean for this app to be that involved.
If you’re expecting all the bells and whistles, go elsewhere. I’m getting the paid version only to support the company that gave me this for free.
Overall, this app is the best I’ve seen for the specific need of keeping my todo list organized and allowing for quick, unencumbered entries.
Now, if I can just get my family to download this... 🙂

### 4/5 — Super useful

*2019-06-15, version 2.5.2*

Great tool for a scattered mind. Anytime you have a great thought but need to create clarity in your thinking before you implement your ideas, this is a step in the right direction!

### 3/5 — Rating Outliner

*2019-04-05, version 2.5.2*

I am unable to rate this as I just put this on my system and it is asking me how good it is. I don’t know as I haven’t tried it yet

### 4/5 — Good simple outliner

*2019-03-08, version 2.5.2*

I tried a bunch of other outliner and to-do-list apps, but they were too complicated. This one is simple but gets the basic job done.

### 4/5 — Great

*2018-10-25, version 2.5*

I have been using Listmaker in Palm for years, and this is the only app I found on the iPhone to replace it. The only reason it does not to get five stars is that it does not offer confirmation when wanting to delete an item. I can see accidentally deleting a parent Item and having everything under it gone. This would be very unfortunate.

### 4/5 — I outline everything. This is the best so far.

*2018-07-04, version 2.5*

Can’t think without using an outlining tool.
This one is great for lesson plans, process outlines, and task and sub task todo-s.
Very handy!

### 4/5 — Perfect Listed Outline!

*2018-06-04, version 2.5*

I have attempted Workflowy and fell in love. However, I do not like the method of paying through a subscription. I found this app and found it amazing. It has a checklist, you can strikethrough completed objectives, and it uses hierarchical listing. I had the free version on my Macbook Pro, but it was glitchy and deleted bullets at random times. Skeptical, I updated to the pro version and was pleasantly surprised to see no bugs. Favorite outlining app.

### 5/5 — Simple app. Does the job well.

*2018-01-06, version 2.4*

Does a pretty good job at what it's suppose to do. A few features I wish were there are not, but it's good enough for my purpose.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Too hard to figure out

*2020-10-31, version 2.5.5*

It’s my idea I want to work on not messing around with this unintuitive tool.

### 1/5 — Difficult to use

*2020-05-02, version 2.5.4*

I can’t get a key board to come up. App is very difficult to use. Not user friendly.

### 1/5 — Pro version showing ads

*2020-03-12, version 2.5.2*

I paid for the Pro version but still see ads!!!! How does that happen?

### 1/5 — Ads!

*2016-02-02, version 2.2*

Ads! Deleted.

### 2/5 — Cloud outliner

*2021-10-19, version 2.5.6*

Creates an outline with sub lines and sub sub lines
Fairly easy to move lines with sub lines
Have to fiddle around to figure out things
I don’t need a lot of bells and whistles
So it’s good enough for me

### 2/5 — Does not support iPad 11 inch display

*2019-03-28, version 2.5.2*

Big black border around the entire app, hope it gets updated to support the new resolution

### 2/5 — Still needs work

*2018-11-02, version 2.5*

Data entry is intuitive but you can’t edit text after input. You have to delete the entire entry and re-enter. No word formatting available (bold, underline, italics, size, font).

### 2/5 — Not good enough

*2018-01-14, version 2.4*

The app lacks the ability for individual customisation for the price I should at least be able to change fonts and all.

### 2/5 — Improvements that would make this excellent

*2017-12-27, version 2.4*

This is a nice little app-- but it could be great with a few improvements. As an author who writes both novels and textbooks, I have tried most apps and programs that relate to text processing and have concluded that they are created by programmers, not writers. Too often, it seems, programmers are more focused on displaying what clever programmers they are than how well the app they create meets needs. Programmers need to determine who the target user they are creating the app for is-- and then find out from that target user what they want and need. And then build those things into the app from the very beginning.

For an app like this to be really useful, especially for writing nonfiction, it is very frustrating that there is no apparent way to applying formatting to individual words but only entire sections of text, whether trying to apply a stylistic change (bold, italic, underline) or changing to color of the font. Select one word in a block of text, apply italic to that single word, and the entire block changes to italic! Not good when, for instance, inserting a word from a foreign language or the title of a book.

### 2/5 — Was great until....

*2017-07-08, version 2.3*

I loved this app, used it for a big project I've been working on, it's incredibly convenient and easy to use. However, the app froze when I was trying to erase an outline, so I restarted it and when I reopened it, it had deleted all of my files and folders except for one! I'm very angry and upset at losing all of the work I had done. I hope whatever happened there is addressed and fixed asap, because it was great until this incident.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Greater than I thought

*2022-12-06, version 2.5.6*

Cloud Outliner makes organizing one’s own thoughts simple and effective. It’s compatible with all of my devices. It doesn’t get any better than that.

### 5/5 — García

*2021-05-12, version 2.5.6*

Es fabuloso me encanta su organización y como puedo guardarlo todo Me encanta Lo recomiendo.

### 5/5 — Organizes my everything!

*2020-04-17, version 2.5.4*

From daily tasks to lists and sublists of everything I want to keep track of, this app works like my brain works and keeps everything I want to remember in the same place and organized. It loads fast and is easy to move things so it wins the award for my most used app.

### 5/5 — Does what it claims to

*2019-11-28, version 2.5.2*

I was looking for a simple outlining app to organize tasks and ideas and this works. There are a few things I’d like to see - moving items to folders rather than just being a hierarchy of items, but for what is - an outlining tool - it works very well

### 5/5 — Best organizer

*2019-10-10, version 2.5.2*

Super dooper easy to organize my to-do list or thinking!!!! Excellent app!!!! I can't live without it!!! Great work guys!!! You guys must be super dooper smart to figure out such thing! Thank you for saving my life !

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2019-02-07, version 2.5.2*

This app really suits all of your needs for basic outlines, lists, and checklists, and it does it without in-your-face ads. There’s no bait-and-switch - everything a casual user might need is usable. Unlike a lot of the garbage out there in the App Store, the simple features you’ll need the most aren’t locked behind a paywall.
What’s even more interesting is that as I continue to use the app, I find new things (just when I was wondering about a “collapse all” feature, I found it by accident!). All in all, this app just does a really great job of being what I expect from a free app - good enough for causal users without beating them over the head with ads, and most or all of the features I actually want to use are not locked away in the PRO version.

### 5/5 — Better than others

*2018-12-27, version 2.5.2*

I searched hard for a good checklist app, and this is the best. The ability to collapse lists is great. I use it for everything.

### 5/5 — Great!

*2018-11-23, version 2.5.2*

It takes a little time to figure it out, but works great and has been a real help especially for different packing lists.

### 5/5 — Outstanding application!

*2018-10-18, version 2.5*

This application has a very intuitive design. It is a pleasure to use. I can focus on writing content rather than wrestle with a difficult user interface.

### 5/5 — Simplicity is bliss

*2018-05-22, version 2.5*

Very pleased with ease of learning and use. I’m a believer that there is an organization app for everyone, but prior to now I had personally struggled to find a good fit for actual productivity. Whether I simply need to make a quick list/capture a thought or organize a wedding, I’m able to do so in a manner that works the way my mind flows. Very pleased with the Apple Watch integration as well. My only gripe is the absence of an iPhone widget.
