Not only does it unlock the better resolution and graphic qualities the official apps (such as GeForce Now) limit, it also allows for M&K games to function properly when using an external mouse and keyboard, unlike the official apps. This is an absolute game changer for wanting to utilize their iOS devices for gaming at a reasonable price. I’d suggest the lifetime unlock personally as a monthly fee would surpass that price in a very short time. I’m on the 7 days trial and I will definitely buy the lifetime version because it worth every penny! For gamers like me who want to play their steam/epic libraries when away from their pc. I mainly purchased the app for rumble effect using the Xbox controller on the iPad Pro but what really convinced me to purchase the app was the ability to display full screen on the TV using the iPhone or iPad. I use Geforce Now Performance tier and every game runs flawlessly at 1440p resolution and 60 fps. I’m sure Ultimate tier performs even better. You can even set it up to have the Geforce Now page be the default homepage when you open the app, further adding to the your-phone-is-a-console feeling. The system feels completely unfinished and lacks proper optimization and maintenance from the development team. I am using a 13-inch iPad Pro (M5) with the original Magic Keyboard, running the latest iPadOS 26.5 and the most recent version of the Cloud Gear app. While the app does offer certain quality-of-life advantages compared to free alternatives, you expect a paid product to be free of such obvious, glaring bugs. At the moment, using this service feels like trading free options with their own issues for a paid option with a different set of problems—except now I am paying money for it. The mouse input bugs severely ruin the experience, occurring not only during gameplay but throughout the entire virtual PC session. First, there is a constant cursor offset issue: the mouse pointer is visually positioned to the right of where the actual click occurs, meaning the real click registers slightly to the left of the visible cursor. Second, the cursor completely disappears in various desktop scenarios. For instance, when using cloud services like Boosteroid, if I close a game to access the Steam Workshop to subscribe to mods, the cursor vanishes entirely. It remains active, forcing me to blindly move the mouse and click around on pure guesswork, trying to hit small navigation elements or subscription buttons. It is valuable that the developers are trying to create a quality-of-life product, but charging a subscription fee when such systemic bugs exist is unacceptable. When buying a premium service, the expectation is comfort, but I have received nothing but frustration and discomfort. It is currently not worth the money. Given that this is currently the only active system in this niche that is being developed, I sincerely hope the team will step up and fix these issues. If the developers actually test their product and resolve these flaws, it will have a massive competitive edge. I might consider coming back in six months or a year to check on the progress, but right now, it is a massive disappointment. **Developer response:** Thanks for bringing these issues to our attention, you did indeed identify legitimate bugs with the app. We had our developers look into this, and it turns out the issues only affect Boosteroid and only when running at specific video resolutions, which meant that the majority of people were unaffected - and helps to explain how it unfortunately slipped past our QC in the first place. We've now fixed the issues that you encountered in our latest v1.7 update. It would be great if you could give the update a try; hopefully you'll now be able to enjoy the app as we intended. ### 1/5 — Took my money *2026-05-31, version 1.6.2* O star for sure ### 1/5 — Displays horribly on my iPad *2026-02-15, version 1.3* It shows a super distorted stream which only shows green and purple, if te company could reach out to me to fix it i would stop the free trial and start paying monthly ### 2/5 — I might be being unfair *2026-03-04, version 1.3* My setup - 12.9 3rd Gen iPad Pro, Xbox X/S controller, Forza Motorsport (2023). Xbox Cloud Gaming via Game Pass Ultimate. Tested against Safari. Everything completely updated. I did not download the optional plugin as I was concerned it might be considered a cheat mod despite the information stating otherwise. Sign in process - Definitely more straightforward with Cloudgear. Using Safari there are a few extra steps to navigate though nothing very off putting. Once connected to Xbox cloud gaming the process to open Forza was exactly the same, in fact I couldn’t see any difference between the two. Graphics - Whilst there may have been some differences I didn’t notice any and play was just as smooth on both Cloudgear and Safari. Audio - straight out of the 4 onboard iPad speakers, no difference that I could notice. Gameplay - I ran exactly the same race on both Cloudgear and Safari. I want to say there was no difference and perhaps it was just an odd aberration but the game AI players were very definitely more aggressive on the Cloudgear test. Tried it twice with the same result…I’m not claiming anything here, it seemed odd but it happened twice. I’ll leave you to draw your own conclusions. Controller feedback - this was the primary reason I tried Cloudgear. I’m afraid to say that I was disappointed. I checked the controller settings and confirmed the vibration level was set to strong (the highest level) it was; but sadly the actual feedback is very weak and barely noticeable. I should point out that there is absolutely no feedback at all when using Safari but to be honest the feedback via Cloudgear really isn’t much better. I won’t be using Cloudgear for now and have already cancelled my free trial and deleted the app. Should the controller feedback level be improved to the point where it is similar to when using the Xbox console I may try Cloudgear again. ### 2/5 — Inconsistent *2026-02-18* Using iPad to play games on my tv using this app and it works fine but if i move my mouse too much it go to my iPad and then it requires the iPad to host the app while the tv mirrors the content but when it dose that the mouse is off and if i left click the mouse the mouse resets on the screen making it so I can’t click on anything in game only way to fix is to shut down app and reopen on tv then it works fine but having to constant restart game is annoying hasn’t happen in a situation where it would tilt me but i can see it happening would ### 3/5 — says timed out *2026-06-06, version 1.6.2* it says timed out every time i open the app i tried redownloading the app but no work fix or help please? ### 3/5 — Many games glitch out, hard reset doesn't fix it *2026-01-31, version 1.3* Several games in my GeForceNOW library via Steam mostly can't be played in CloudGear and I have to use Safari. For example ARC Raiders some big green blocks like some sort of noise. On their Discord someone allegedly fixed it by hard resetting their iPadPro but I can't replicate that with mine. I have an M3 11" and on-device or via USB dock to a large TV or projector many games just don't work and I have to go back through via the Safari shortcut and it sucks cuz when CloudGear works it's so great. ### 3/5 — CloudGear is a Side Grade at Best *2026-01-14* Cloudgear is a decent app but the old Onecast was a better. Onecast has a much more simplistic and straightforward interface (better for kids). I wish they’d update OneCast and bring the controller support to navigate through our games and the video resizing, and aaspect ratio to OneCast. The pricing isn’t that big of deal for myself, but it’s a concern when you factor in all the drawbacks of the CloudGear App. **UPDATE** When using the Cloud-gear app on iPhone you will receive a spam of audio alert messages if any other source of audio is playing in the background. Such as music, YouTube, discord or a phone call. CloudGear Cons: -Steep Pricing -Complicated User Interface -There’s no Picture in Picture Mode (Great feature to monitor when the match starts while using your phone for something else) -Aspect Ratio Feature Doesn’t work -Audio Alert Message Issue CloudGear Pros: -Video Resizing -Low Decode Times -Supports multiple Cloud Services - Higher Resolution and FPS If the developer address the Audio alert issue, and the lack PIP mode is be happy to update the rating. **Developer response:** We'd love to work with you to get this audio alert issue resolved - any chance that you could join us on discord or our subreddit to discuss further? The improvements to controls and audios vs anything else is night and day. Keep it up! Works fantastically with Boosteroid for me, and makes nVidia Now less miserable… almost friendly, even. Absolutely a must have for cloud based gamers who don’t have a dedicated app for their service. ### 5/5 — Fantastic app *2026-07-24* Great app for cloud streaming games to your phone. I connect my phone to a dock which is then connected to my tv. For whatever reason though I have to disconnect the hdmi from the dock and plug it back in to get audio. I’ve tried two different docks. Not sure if it’s an issue with my iPhone, the dock, or the CloudGear browser but just thought i would mention it. Again, it just works so well! ### 5/5 — Apple TV *2026-06-11, version 1.7* I know I’m just stating the obvious here but I want to say it anyways, where players really need this app is the Apple TV, if they got rid of the browser and made it so you could only access your popular cloud gaming services, it would have a great chance of getting on the Apple TV. This would easily become one of the top selling apps in the gaming section, the Apple TV owners have been waiting for a third party work around app like this for a long time, I think Cloud Gear has a good chance of making the kind of money that comes with being the first apps to successfully pull it off. It’s inevitable that a developer will make it for us eventually, might as well be cloud gear, from using there Xbox app I feel there just as good as anybody at this sort of stuff. ### 5/5 — Better than I thought it would be *2026-06-11* I’ve been using nexus+ for a long time. Decided to give this app a try considering it’s made specifically for cloud gaming. The 7 day free trial is all you need to see how great this app is in comparison. I use GeForce now and I have to say it not only looks better than any others I’ve tried but it performs noticeably better. Playing on controller all of my inputs are more responsive which is a huge deal. I also really like that I can put GeForce now in the background and not have to worry about it closing my game randomly unlike the others I’ve used. Now I don’t take advantage of all the bells and whistles but this is the best app for cloud gaming I’ve ever used. Thank you guys, and I look forward to any improvements. ### 5/5 — Great App for iPad and iPhone *2026-06-08* If you are looking for a browser app that can play modern non-mobile games, like anything on Xbox or PlayStation or Steam, this is the app for you. Using the web versions of any cloud gaming service, CloudGear allows you to use the iPad pointer to play PC games from basically any service. The iPhone app also allows you to automatically change screen orientation without unlocking it from the iPhone settings, like you would need to do in normal Safari. This is a game changer for me, and totally recommend using this app and joining the Discord for updates. If you are an Xbox user, this also has the ability to install Better xCloud natively without installing additional apps, and has a way to manually check for updates from the Better xCloud team, which is a plus. With your iCloud account, all of your bookmarks are saved to your account, which is transferable to a different device, like in sync with your iPhone and iPad.
