Cloudracing is your companion: watch live glider traffic, follow ongoing competitions with live scoring and track aircraft on the map. For spectators, pilots on the ground and competition teams. Included for free: • Live traffic from public OGN receivers, supplemented with ADS-B data where OGN coverage is weak • 2D map with topo and elevation view; airspace, airfields and navigation points drawn as crisp vector layers – also available as a dedicated map layer • Track aircraft and save favorites • Competition tracking with live scoring: pick ongoing SoaringSpot competitions directly, task view and the live score table with ranking, speed, task progress and task status for every participant – including outlandings with a retrieve menu • Spectator counter: see how many people are watching live right now • Load your own tasks (XCSoar .tsk) and participant lists (CSV) Cloudracing Pro (optional subscription) additionally unlocks: • Competition insights and analysis: arrival projection (ETA) with virtual ranking, AAT advisor suggesting how deep to fly into the sector, start time analysis, weather-neutral climb comparison and current weather at the airfield (METAR) • Presenter mode for the briefing hall: the app automatically rotates leading group, score table, pilot spotlight and overview for the projector • Weather and thermal layers: rain, clouds, live thermals with climb rates, wind calculation and gaggle detection for groups circling together, plus the "Thermals 90 min" map with all recently flown thermals • Flight path prediction (experimental): glide range on the remaining task and the fastest route via measured thermals • Live barogram: altitude profile, flight phases and climb rates in real time – scroll back and forth during a live flight • IGC flight analysis: upload your own files or load entire competition days directly from SoaringSpot – with barogram, 3D replay and ghost racing against recorded flights with time delta and debrief • 3D terrain, buildings and satellite view – tasks and participants directly on the 3D terrain • Fly Along: the gliding simulator in the real air and the real terrain of the day (iPad-sized screens and larger) • Early access to new features Cloudracing is available in English, German, Czech, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch and Polish. Tap the map for cloud base and cover. Rewind (Pro): turn the live day back by hours and play it again at 1x, 4x or 16x. Gliders that have landed since come back onto the map. Receiver coverage: see where receivers heard something in the last 24 hours, so you know whether a gap in a track was the glider or the reception. Pilot profiles and clubs: a page for your Winter league name, and clubs you can found or join, with a member list and who is in the air right now. Favourites follow your account: sign in on a new device and your list is already there. IGC analysis: wind profile from your circling, leg times with your rank in the field, the best thermals of the day across all flights, and engine runs read from the file. Simulator flights land in the IGC tab with barogram, thermals and legs, and export as IGC. Exports: tracks as GPX, KML or CUP. Plus the TAF at the airfield and a tap on any airspace for name, class and limits. ### 2.3 — 2026-08-30 • Shadows from the real sun: mountains, buildings, clouds and aircraft cast shadows that match the place, the date and the time of day, and towards evening the light turns dusky. You can switch them off in the 3D settings. • Buildings worldwide: the 3D world now puts up buildings and roads all over the globe. Along with them lakes and rivers, in the 3D world and on the cockpit map, and an elevation tint on the ground. Forests stand as individual trees. • Chase view: the camera follows the flight path and swings up with you in a climb, and the view reaches past the horizon. Haze and sharpness look the same as they do from the cockpit. • Rain in the 3D world: the rain cells stand where they stand on the radar picture, and the shower clouds cast a darker shadow on the ground. • Wind aloft and ridge lift: wind arrows on four altitudes and a layer that shows which face carries. Both on the main map, the ridge lift also on the cockpit map. • New exercises: landing training on the runway at Lüsse, with rings in the air for the approach. Along with it three Pro tasks: a dolphin run under a cloud street, a low save from 400 m, and the last climb before the final glide. • Calm picture: circling and looking around run smoothly on the iPad. Along with it: knife edge flight steers cleanly, and the nav map loads tiles where you push it. ### 2.2.1 — 2026-08-27 Real sunlight in the simulator: the sun stands where it really stands over your position, with daylight, evening light and night across the 3D world. Plus distant haze and lens flare on the canopy. Push the nose down and the mountains on the horizon stay put. Look up to the midday sun. Starting the engine after your start ends the scored flight. Wave and street clouds only where the satellite image shows them. Lower memory use in the background. ### 2.2 — 2026-08-22 Winter league: the season starts September 28. One task a week at real soaring sites, with frozen weather so everyone flies the same sky. Unlimited attempts, your best run counts, and league flights are free. Race the ghost of any league flight with a live time comparison in the cockpit (Pro). Daily final glide puzzle: estimate your arrival height, check the solution, then fly the situation yourself. Training with star ratings: thermal centering, start gate timing, speed to fly, circling in strong wind, final glide and landing. Cloud streets: on windy days the thermals line up in rows of cumulus for dolphin flying straight ahead, with sink lanes between the streets. Livelier air: eight cumulus shapes, rotor in the lee of ridges and rougher air at thermal edges. Lee wave bands now hold their position instead of jumping downwind.
