### 3/5 — Unfortunate update

*2026-08-22, version 290.0*

To echo other comments, yes the recent updates to UI & free options is unfortunate. I’m unemployed after years of burnout and have long dealt with heavy, irregular, painful periods. Tracking is helping me have something to show my dr. as I try to help myself and get prepared to inevitably go back to working.

But it does suck to feel like you have to have money to properly track & generally have concern about your health. I understand we are in an economic system that requires monetization and in a time where women continue to be swept under the rug as well as social care/welfare in the US generally... I appreciate all that you guys do, I just wish all of this weren’t so exhausting on our end.

### 3/5 — good app, but the ads are obnoxious

*2026-08-20, version 290.0*

I’ve been using Clue for a few years. It’s a good period tracker, but the constant ads for Clue+ are overwhelming. There should be a way to decrease the frequency of them and it takes away from the app’s experience

### 3/5 — It’s ok

*2026-08-19, version 290.0*

It’s good but you have to pay for a lot of features but ok if you just want simple features

### 3/5 — Pop Ups

*2026-08-19, version 290.0*

I’d probably rate the app better if I wasn’t constantly bombarded with the pop ups trying to make me pay. It’s really freaking annoying and I’m thinking about deleting.

### 2/5 — Dont waste your time

*2026-08-19, version 281.0*

This app is riddled with pop-up promotions and fails at the one thing I set it up to do: remind me X days before my period. Everyday I get a useless notification asking how I feel, but I can't get the one notification I opted in for. Super disappointing overall.

### 3/5 — Add pop up too often

*2026-08-18, version 290.0*

I’m really enjoying this app and I like the many details, but ads pop up every time I touch something. Maybe if it was a one time fee, I’d pull the trigger but paying every month? Nah

### 3/5 — Mid

*2026-08-18, version 290.0*

We need perimenopause options!!!! Sometimes I will have random bleeding and I can’t track it without it being a whole period! LET ME DECIDE if it’s period time! Add a new symptom for breakthrough bleeding or something that doesn’t reset the whole cycle!

### 4/5 — Love it but PLEASE stop with the subscription pop ups every time you click on something

*2026-08-18, version 290.0*

I love the UI of this app, it’s so clean and easy to navigate. I understand the need to advertise the paid version of the app to free users but for the love of god PLEASE stop making it pop up everything you go to do an action or log something. Even if it’s just a constant banner on every page would be better.

### 3/5 — It looks like a good app

*2026-08-16, version 290.0*

It looks like a good app! and helpfull but i cant get it i am younger than 13 and i started my period way too early so i just wanted to ask i do think it looks amazing and i really wanted to try it out

### 4/5 — Doesnt change reminders with fluctuating periods

*2026-08-15, version 290.0*

My period has been fluctuation and the app doesn’t alter the reminder to “hermit” in the days before. So, now it’s been reminding me to “hermit” all the time, making it useless for tracking and helping me cope with PMS in work and social situations.

### 2/5 — No postpartum mode

*2026-08-15, version 290.0*

I have been using clue for years and found it to be the best period tracking app, however I have just had a baby and logged back on as I got my first period and there is no postpartum modes which makes me feel like tracking is inaccurate especially while still breastfeeding. I am very disappointed and will have to try and find another app that includes postpartum.

### 2/5 — becoming difficult to use free version

*2026-08-15, version 290.0*

i've used this app for years, but sadly the number of pop up ads and constant prompts to upgrade to the paid version are making it really difficult to use. i just want to keep tabs on my cycle and health in a simple way, but i have to close multiple windows before i can even begin to use the app, then scroll more past features i can't event use before getting to what i need. i feel trapped into continuing to use the app because it already has years of my data, but it's becoming so annoying i might just delete and start fresh somewhere else.

### 4/5 — i love my widget

*2026-08-14, version 288.0*

The incessant ads for a premium sub are annoying buuuuuut it’s literally the only iOS period tracker I’ve found that has a home screen widget that shows a countdown to your next period so I guess I’m here forever. Ty devs for the countdown widget -xoxo girl with MASSIVE memory issues

### 4/5 — Request for features

*2026-08-13, version 288.0*

I have found this platform generally intuitive and easy to use. I would super appreciate an IVF mode! Where I could log things like dates for meds started, what cycle I’m in. Egg retrieval dates. How my recovery went, implantation dates and a better system that understands and accounts for why my cycles might not be typical. Features for pregnancy loss and recovery would be fantastic too. Would just make life easier and would be nice if it could then transition to the pregnancy mode eventually. Please consider developing this!

### 2/5 — better than flo i THINK

*2026-08-13, version 288.0*

you have to pay for basic things it’s so annoying💔

### 3/5 — I wish i could share with my partner without the subscription

*2026-08-12, version 288.0*

Very unfortunate that i can’t ..

### 2/5 — 🤷‍♀️

*2026-08-11, version 287.0*

It’s never accurate.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Forgot password

*2026-08-23, version 291.0*

I was signed out & tried login in with forgot password & never got the email for password reset after trying so many times. I had to re sign in again & all my data was lost. So so disappointing.

### 1/5 — Won’t let me update

*2026-08-22, version 291.0*

Won’t let me update

### 1/5 — So useful

*2026-08-19, version 290.0*

Update:
Many years later, and this app is the worst. It seems every month they take away more and more features and put them on their premium account which is a subscription 🙄 Like I’m going to pay for a glorified calendar! It used to be nice to track things like pain, skin, pms symptoms etc and actually have their statistics and patterns. You can still have your own custom tags but they are useless because you can’t access any stats on them. Now, all of that is behind a paywall. Even basic statistics about my period don’t exist, just a calendar and averages, which doesn’t tell me if anything has shifted in recent months or anything. On top of the free version being utterly useless, they spring ads for the premium subscription at least 1-3 times every time you open the app, which is excessive since you might only open it a few times a month. AND, the ads are very hard to close, with the “X” button always hidden within a very similar-colored background.
Apple Health app can do everything this app can do, which is just very basic period tracking. Don’t bother with Clue.

Initial Review: You can set custom reminders for so many things, and track so much more than just periods and PMS. I like that I can track my skin, mood, energy level, digestion, and see if there are any patterns. Been using clue regularly for over a year, its a good one!

### 1/5 — Subscription ads

*2026-08-18, version 290.0*

After using this app for 11 years I bought a year of the subscription service and it didn’t really add anything I needed so I didn’t renew the subscription this year, and I immediately became aware of how bad the ad pop ups have become, everything you press brings up an ad and as soon as you open the app you’ve sometimes got to go past multiple pop ups before you can even track anything! It’s disappointing to see the greedy direction this app has taken these past few years. I really hope the team makes some changes soon or I will have to stop using the app.

### 1/5 — ugh

*2026-08-16, version 290.0*

it kept telling me wait till my 13th birthday when I am 13 .?

### 1/5 — Not knowing what day

*2026-08-09, version 287.0*

I did not start my period this week yet and it said I have

### 1/5 — visually unpleasant

*2026-08-08, version 287.0*

ad when you open. ad when you dismiss. main screen now has prompts to add wearables that prompt more wearables when you dismiss. so ugly with the banners. i wanna find the way this app used to look cause it’s awful now. it looks like old internet with spam

### 1/5 — Not Accurate

*2026-08-07, version 287.0*

I use this and the built in cycle tracker in my iphone. My iphone has been leagues better at accurately predicting when my period will start, whereas clue continues to assume I'll, what, magically stop being irregular or having short cycles? It's basically useless without a subscription unless you have extremely regular/typical cycles, and even then there's several apps that are much better. Don't bother.

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2026-08-05, version 287.0*

Shouldn’t have to pay to track your period

### 1/5 — Was good a decade ago. Now it’s just sloppy self-promotion.

*2026-08-02, version 287.0*

I downloaded Clue 12(!) years ago, and I really loved it at the time. Simple interface, lots of options to collect data without too many unnecessary bells and whistles. But the years, it’s gotten SO incessant about badgering you to upgrade to the paid app. There are constant banners and pop-ups trying to get you to subscribe, and the other features are just visual clutter. The completely unnecessary “content” tab irks me on particular—who the hell is going to their period tracker to listen to a podcast? Why would I want to read testimonials from members dressed up as heartwarming stories about female empowerment?? It also DOES sell your data to third party services (albeit anonymized). I understand they’re a company but they’ve clearly gotten too big for their britches, prioritized profit, and the product is not good enough to justify it. I’ll just using my own damn calendar.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Useful app

*2026-08-20, version 290.0*

I appreciate the practicality of this app, have used it for years, and I appreciate you getting rid of the “men can get periods” propaganda (imo) that you used to feature.

### 5/5 — Love it

*2026-08-20, version 290.0*

I love this app it has made it so much easier to track when I will have my period and it is very accurate ♥️♥️♥️

### 5/5 — Fab interface, in-depth tracking options, easy to use

*2026-08-17, version 290.0*

This app is helpful and easy to use, and it doesn’t have annoying alerts or extraneous info I didn’t ask for. The interface is clean and well-designed, and it has many options for detailed tracking if you’re curious to follow additional details such as mood, appetite, etc. It’s science-based and simple!

### 5/5 — Great

*2026-08-15, version 290.0*

I’ve used this app for a long time now, just the free version. It’s been easy to keep track of what I need to. Now, I’m considering paying for the full version. A lot of stuff has been added to make the price worth it (at discount and HSA/FSA eligible!). I’m especially interested in the science-backed articles. Feels like the team cares about women’s health and under-explored research topics in healthcare. This company has to follow strict European privacy standards, still I put in minimal information when tracking. Does what I need it to do.

### 5/5 — My trusted tool for period & migraine tracking

*2026-08-15, version 287.0*

I use Clue for tracking my irregular periods and migraines, and it has helped me understand when I can expect symptoms, as well as my period itself. Recommend!
