### 1/5 — Abandoned technology

*2024-06-01*

I purchased the Seattle Art Museum hunt. We couldn’t find the first three clues, so we consulted a museum employee who told us those exhibits haven’t been out for years. I messaged ClueKeeper to get my money back and they didn’t respond. At this point, it’s a scam. Ignore this and look for alternatives.

**Developer response:** Hi saint2778, I'm a SOOO sorry that you had this experience, and especially that I only came across this review nearly 3 months later. I will process your refund immediately and will take that hunt offline. Unfortunately I have no record of you trying to contact us - can you tell us what method you tried to contact us? We monitor our admin@cluekeeper.com email address daily and also have a number you can call 1-844-992-5837 where we would have handled this on the day it happened. Please let us know if there is anything else I can do to make this right for you.

### 1/5 — Be Careful!

*2019-12-26, version 1.26.0*

My password became my username which then needs to be shared with others if you are working in teams - v unhappy!

### 1/5 — Not supported with Google multi factor auth

*2019-05-05*

I can’t login and use the app because it fails after using my google account with multifactor authentication

**Developer response:** Hi mlwollman, as the developer, I also use and value two-factor authentication, but it always works fine for me. Can you contact admin@cluekeeper.com with more details on how it fails for you? I'd love to get to the bottom of this. (And sorry for the delay, I only just saw this now!)

### 1/5 — Liar

*2016-06-28*

St3ve323 is a liar

### 1/5 — Bad system

*2014-07-24*

Only the leader can solve a question even if other group members have the answer!!!

**Developer response:** Hi Silentknight31, it is now up to the creator of the hunt to determine whether or not anyone can submit or just the group leader. I'm sorry that that one aspect of the hunt you played ruined your experience. Please consider trying a more recent hunt to see if you might consider changing your rating.

### 5/5 — Great app, but spoils skipped puzzles

*2025-09-21*

We used this app during a DASH event. The app worked well and made the event more enjoyable. It was easy to use and I was impressed with how well it handled the hints.
My only complaint is I wish it didn’t spoil skipped puzzles. We had skipped a puzzle, but wanted to revisit it during a later meal break. But you can’t avoid seeing the answer while working on subsequent puzzles. I realize answers are needed for meta puzzles, but it’d be nice if the answer only appeared on the specific puzzle page and not on the puzzle list, maybe even hidden like hints are.
Otherwise, great app!

### 5/5 — Worked Great!

*2025-05-03*

My son wanted a scavenger hunt in the neighborhood for his 17th birthday party so we chose ClueKeeper to help us with the daunting task.

I created 10 clues, 6 teams, 18 participants. I used GPS coordinates, and made the game a little more interactive with the task of videoing an activity after each answered clue, then they texted the video to the game master, and then I would text them the access code for the next clue.

I had to double check and tweak my GPS coordinates a couple of times during the planning process. Some were off the mark by a few dozen meters, but if you widen the default geo fencing — then you won’t have a problem. Just go back and make sure it has your spot within the radius again.

My only flaw was using Chat GPT to develop my clues, I knew better than not to have checked it’s math and facts.

All said and done — the game was a huge success, and I’m “Mom of the Year.” Not sure I’ll ever be able to top this party. This was one for the history books.

### 5/5 — Really good

I did it with my friends and it was awesome

### 5/5 — Wonderful app

*2021-05-16, version 1.30.0*

I’ve used this app to create a commercial escape room style hunt. Easy to use, lots of functionality and best of all really prompt and helpful support.

### 5/5 — Awesome

We did a group scavenger hunt around Manly using the Clue Keeper app, it was very well designed and we had a great day out. Would recommend!

Pretty good

### 5/5 — Amazing!!!!

*2019-04-04*

How this isn’t taking the world by storm yet, I don’t know. Just playing out the Gnome adventure with my family was a blast!!! We can’t wait to do more.

I’m also an ex-escape room business owner/designer and I’m excited to see what it takes to be a creator too... but for now, I can’t wait to play more of these games, and to tell everyone I know to try this out!

### 5/5 — ClueKeeper + Zappar = Awesome

### 5/5 — Brilliant!!

This is the next step in puzzle hunting!! I can't believe this hasn't existed before. The ability to do a puzzle challenge when it fits your schedule? Gather some friends, load up the app, and get to it. As someone who lives in a different city from my puzzle pals, this is perfect for when I'm visiting! So excited!!
