### 4/5 — Good app

*2026-08-01, version 11.0.1*

I wish it had a value estimated feature but other than that seems like a good app so far

### 5/5 — A brilliant app!

*2026-06-29, version 10.3.3*

I have a large number this app is invaluable for keeping track on details of the movies and when I’ve watched them.

### 5/5 — Indispensable for a collector

*2026-06-29, version 10.3.3*

Worth the cost just for the speed and accuracy of barcode scanning when adding discs. CLZ Movies scans the entries faster than I can unstack discs when scanning UPCs.

Customizable as well, with sort filters like “Format”. Custom tags and wishlists can be created. A movie can be represented in the collection as 4K and Blu-ray and a custom format like “Plex” all at the same time, and filtered as desired.

### 5/5 — Awesome App

*2026-06-28, version 10.3.3*

Easy to use, works super well with the bar code if your movies have that, most of mine did….highly recommend!

### 5/5 — An Outlet for My Sickness

*2026-06-28, version 10.3.3*

Came here after listening to Tracy Letts on Blank Check. Greatest decision of my life.

### 5/5 — Using App for Years

*2026-06-26, version 10.3.3*

I absolutely would be LOST without the CLZ Movies App. It’s the best app to organize your collection. I’m currently sitting at over 2,100 items and it’s seamless to organize and search. Thank you!

### 5/5 — CLZ Movies is the best

*2026-06-26, version 10.3.3*

Highly recommend! I have a large collection of movies and tried various options to catalog and track my collection. I found this app and have never looked back. The best option is that the software scans the barcode to add the movie quickly to the collection. For most movies it takes a few seconds to add, and no further typing or searching is needed. If the movie is not found in their catalog, it can be added manually. I also use the location option to log where the movie is stored to be retrieved easily. The app is also constantly updated with new features. It is worth every dollar.

### 5/5 — One of the very best apps for collecting movies

*2026-06-15, version 10.3.3*

I love this app. It’s so easy just to scan a barcode and add it to your collection. It totally keeps me from buying doubles. I had a problem where it logged me out and customer service was able to help me recover everything without an issue. Not bad for two dollars a month. Or $20 for the year. If you’re a movie collector, this thing is a must.

### 5/5 — Best app, great features

*2026-06-13, version 10.3.3*

I have over 2000 movies in a growing collection and this is by the far the best cataloging app out there and I’ve tried several. I’ve already cataloged hundreds of films in the last couple of weeks. The bar code reader actually works and even on a few older or obscure DVDs where I had to type in the title, I still retrieved the correct film and easily added it to the database. Not only is the film cataloged, but app pulls in data on actors, crew, and summary, from IMDB. You can search by director, actor, cinematographer, etc. The user interface is friendly and intuitive which makes using the many features and personalization options easy to use. I also love the backup-to-the-cloud feature. The folks at CLZ have the physical collectors’ idiosyncrasies in mind. And real humans will respond to your questions.

### 2/5 — I had high hopes

*2026-06-13, version 10.3.3*

Needs some serious database improvement. About 1/3 of the movies I’ve added so far have come up under different, incorrect titles and I’ve had to correct them all. Gonna use iCollect.

### 5/5 — Physical Media Collection

*2026-06-11, version 10.3.3*

Awesome app, helps me keep my VHS, Laserdisc, DVD, Blu-Ray, and 4K Blu-Ray movies in order and I have a ton of them.

### 5/5 — Great

*2026-06-05, version 10.3.3*

This app is the best to keep your movies so u don’t Buy doubles

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2026-06-05, version 10.3.3*

I have a huge collection of Movies in about 4 different Cloud storage that seem to play nice with each other. I use this for keeping track of them, super easy to use, update, and add movies and TV shows I highly recommend this app to all who want to keep track and organize their favorite Movies

### 5/5 — A Must Have

*2026-06-03, version 10.3.3*

It’s a collector. I can’t imagine not owning this program. It has saved me on countless occasions by purchasing doubles. It’s extremely customizable. Absolute recommend.

### 5/5 — Great app for collectors of physical media.

*2026-06-02, version 10.3.3*

Up until I heard about this app I had been using Microsoft Excel to log my vast physical media collection. As great is Excel is for somethings, this app beats it hand down.

The app does all the hard work for you. All you have to do is scan the barcode if your titles and the app does the rest.

A+ from me.

### 5/5 — Keep track of your collection

*2026-06-01, version 10.3.3*

This is a great way to keep track of your collection of media. Before I used this app, I would accidentally buy a title that I already owned. Now I can quickly check a title to see if I already owned it.

### 5/5 — Essential for collecting

*2026-05-28, version 10.3.3*

This app is amazing and helps me keep track of hundreds of movies in my collection. Easy to use and nice to have when I’m out shopping and can’t remember which movies I already have. Each movie has a picture, description, and more. Adding movies is a breeze also with a UPC Scanner built in and extensive search bar if you can’t scan the movie.

### 5/5 — Best App to keep your DVD’s in Order

*2026-05-24, version 10.3.3*

For over a decade, my DVD collection has grown into a sprawling library of over 200 titles, and for just as long, I have struggled with the monumental task of organizing them. Keeping an expansive collection in strict alphabetical order felt like a daunting, never-ending chore that usually left my shelves in a state of chaotic disarray. I spent countless hours searching for a practical solution, frustrated by the lack of an efficient system—until I finally discovered a game-changing app last week that has completely transformed my hobby. The process is incredibly intuitive; I simply scan the barcode, and the app catalogs everything instantly. Now, not only can I retrieve any movie in my collection in seconds, but if I ever decide to trim down my selection, the resale process is just as seamless. It has turned a stressful logistical burden into a streamlined delight, and I honestly don't know how I managed my collection without it.

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2026-05-23, version 10.3.3*

I’ve used CLZ Books for years and recently started using CLZ Movies too. I had been using DVD Profiler for a long time, but moving my collection of about 800 movies into CLZ Movies only took around five minutes. The web and app interfaces are fast, easy to use, and makes it simple to browse my collection when I’m looking for something to watch again. I also really like that the CLZ apps have a consistent feel across books, movies, music, and more, so it’s easy to get up and running with a new collection

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — $20/ year for a list. Just use notes.

*2026-07-09, version 10.3.3*

Pretty lame when you have to pay for a notes app.

### 1/5 — Waste of time

*2026-04-20, version 10.3.2*

You’ll spend 4 hours looking for the most basic settings.
Good luck finding value of your movies or collection. Everything is hidden. There’s a setting for the currency for the movies. But no prices. Good job

### 1/5 — They Trashed My Account!

*2026-02-06, version 10.2.4*

After using this for years and having paid for a lifetime subscription CLZ dumped my entire catalogue of around 900 movies! I contacted them but they never responded so after all that work I get to start all over again.

### 1/5 — Makes you pay a subscription

*2026-01-19, version 10.2.4*

You need to pay to use it monthly

### 1/5 — Monthly fees???? Greed has ruining the App Store

*2026-01-05, version 10.2.3*

Every single app maker thinking they have the right to charge you MONTHLY for an app of convenience you maybe open up 10x a year, is grotesque. But this is par for the course on the App Store these days. It's not about function or value, but how much can be gauged from the customer. You ought to be ashamed. I'd pay $10, $15, maybe even $20, but I WILL NEVER pay a dvd inventory app monthly. Just disgusting capitalism.

### 1/5 — Test nicht möglich

*2025-12-20*

Die App ist eine Datenkrake, ohne Registrierung geht hier gar nichts. Direkt gelöscht.

**Developer response:** There really is a free 7-day trial.

### 1/5 — Subscription Service

*2025-11-14, version 10.2.1*

I’m so tired of paying subscriptions man

### 1/5 — Everything is manual

*2025-10-22, version 10.0.3*

I dont mind filling the information manually but to charge me then ask me to do it just hilarious

I uploaded my list of movies but it didn't fill any information for me and all photos are blank

Not what I expected from a paid service

### 1/5 — “No Limits” Scam

*2025-09-17, version 9.7.2*

I purchased the “No Limits” version of the app back in 2019. I understand that since then they have shifted to a subscription model, however upon getting a new phone and downloading the app again my entire account and collection was wiped clean and now they are forcing me to the subscription even when the app says it’s in “grandfathered unlock state”. I would avoid giving this company any money as they are liable to switch up on you down the road.

### 1/5 — Arrogant developers; titles don’t sort. Causes duplicate purchases.

*2025-07-18, version 9.7.1*

I use the app to see what I own so I don’t buy discs I already have.

But the app is garbage for this. Why?

If you have a short movie name like RED, or for some reason an odd sort like “The Hangover Part II” and you start typing the title it will show other titles but not the one you already own. If I type ‘red’ (or ‘RED’) in the search the drop down shows The Hunt for Red October, Red Dawn, Red Tails, The Red Chapel, etc. but won’t show ‘RED’ even though it’s in the list and will show if I manually.

If I type ‘The Hangover’ to see if I have The Hangover Part II, it shows The Hangover, The Hangover Part III, and then The Hangover twice again. But doesn’t show The Hangover Part II unless I type ‘The Hangover Part’

So basically the app is awkward and unpredictable when searching for titles.

When I try to offer feedback the devs say it’s how they like it and act very proud of all the other aspects ignoring the issues.

I regret setting myself on this platform but hope they will improve.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Worth the Subscription

*2026-08-21, version 11.0.4*

Keeps getting better!

### 5/5 — This App overflows with features and support.

*2026-08-12, version 11.0.2*

Hands down this is the best movie database on the market. It’s not just a database that catalogues thousands of movies. You can use the barcode to enter the movie or manually if you don’t have a barcode. It links each one to IMDB, setting out a synopsis and rating of the movie, provides a cast list, director and crew, you can search by genre, actor ,director etc., has a random shake function that can pick a movie for you if you can’t decide.
Apart from all the features what I like most about this app is the support that is provided with it. It is regularly updated, with new features added and the help desk is extremely helpful with prompt replies if there is an issue.
There is a small subscription fee but the support and the updates are worth it. Also, what I have paid in subscriptions, I have saved many times over by referring to the app and avoiding duplicate purchases.

I cannot recommend this app highly enough.

Thanks CLZ team.

### 5/5 — Great movie collecting App!

*2026-08-09, version 11.0.2*

Really thorough in details! Every detail and ranking at your fingertips! Sort your collection in a variety of ways and easy to use! Highly recommended!

### 5/5 — Great App

*2026-08-08, version 11.0.2*

15 years
I have had this app for many years, it keeps getting better and better. On the few occasions I needed help, they were very quick to help.
I have no problem in
Recommending this app it is on of the best I have ever purchased

### 5/5 — Great stuff

*2026-08-06, version 11.0.2*

It’s cool that I use the same app as the king of physical media Tracy Letts.

### 5/5 — Excellent collection

*2026-08-03, version 11.0.1*

Very easy to use and they are very on top of everything as soon as you join. Note that the free version is for a small amount but it is far worth it to pay for the full version. And having it go across all my devices is great.

### 5/5 — Great app for cataloging movie collections

*2026-07-22, version 11.0.1*

I have used a few different database apps for tracking my movie collection but I’m so glad that I made the switch to CLZ Movies. It’s super easy to use and is very robust. In fact, in the three years or so I’ve been using it, I don’t think I’ve had any issues. Now that’s impressive!

The data syncs between iPhone and iPad via the cloud so is backed up for safekeeping.

Having my movie list in my pocket has actually saved me money - it helps me avoid buying duplicates so in essence it’s paid for itself!

The latest update has added in custom data fields so there really is nothing that this app can’t help you track and manage be it DVDs, Blu-Rays, VHS or digital media.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-07-19, version 10.3.3*

Great app I had a few issues to start with but contacted the help line and explained the issue and they resolved the issue.

When it comes to finding a movie to watch from my ever increasing unwatched collection I select unwatched movies and shake my phone and it gives me a random movie to watch , which can be an interesting title I haven’t seen yet .

### 5/5 — Reliable

*2026-07-18, version 10.3.3*

It’s been a great tool! I don’t catalog as many movies as comics but it’s nice to see the app still lets me in with few hassles 👏🏻😁😁

### 5/5 — Good way to keep track of your streaming content as well

*2026-07-13, version 10.3.3*

I know this product is intended to help people keep track of their physical media collections, but it works just as well for your streaming content. I started moving on to streaming content over a decade ago so I have a broad selection of content available on 4 sites. I purchase content through Apple TV, Fandango & Prime Video and sync up everything I can via Movies Anywhere (MA). Unfortunately, everything is not available to stream on MA so it is very helpful to keep a list of all the films I have purchased over the years and which sites I bought them on. CLZ provided a more visually appealing option than the spreadsheet format I used for years. CLZ also offers the option to keep track of any TV programming you have purchased as well.
I know there are some products that automatically update content as you purchase more from your streaming platforms, I just don’t feel comfortable providing my login info to these apps so they are not an option for me. This leaves me the option to manually track my purchases, and I am very pleased with the results I achieve with CLZ.
