### 4/5 — a newbie's view of cmd prompt

*2022-11-01, version 5.5.2*

I know next tomnothing of programming, but I am aware that computing is evolving. This Cmd Prompt dictionary can help take the mystery out of the world of computing . Microsoft has evolved into Powershell and beyond, these cmds have changed in Powershell but are still recognized by it and its spinoffs. At last a tool to allow us neophytes join the 2nd years. Don't let fear of the unknown cause you to avoid it, on the contrary embrace it. Control your fear.

### 4/5 — Another useful utility from Moballo

*2022-01-30*

This isn't going to change your life, but when I have to venture into the world of M$, it's nice to have a quick utility like this.

Helps me to remember commands I havent used in eons. Also informs me of syntax for newer AD commands without needing to navigate the interwebs.

Thanks!

### 3/5 — Crap

Okay O👌

### 4/5 — Nice Reference

*2019-07-18*

Very nice app to find common command line codes. It would be nice to show how you can string some of them together but for the price “free” or nominal charge to remove ads it is really quite nice.

### 5/5 — CMDref

*2018-12-24*

This is a very handy app. It will help those interested in using dis commands and to have a pocket reference guild right on there Apple devices. So you can find items faster on how the commands for DOS are laid out on the fly with this app. I gave it a 5 star because I have been in the technology realm for many many years. After seeing and working with this app I find it a must to have when finding commands and formats. Especially when one is getting up in years and forgetful. It will help anyone that works with dos and or any commands to use to get or do things faster in CMD DOS Windows than using power shell for the users that are not experienced in the other version of a DOS LIKE environment. Thank you for reading my review.

### 4/5 — Handy App

*2018-03-02, version 5.3.2*

This is a great app and what stands it above the rest, as far as I’m concerned, is the fact that it also works with the Apple Watch.
However, what would make it even better would be for each command to show an example of how it is used, such as follows: ‘ipconfig’ : Example: ‘ipconfig /all’ etc Perhaps this could be added as a future update? Still a useful app however.

### 4/5 — Good app

*2018-02-13, version 5.3.2*

It’s handy and useful for a quick look at all the command prompts and the search bar makes it easier. You should have the ability to add certain commands to a favourites list which would make this app perfect in my opinion :)

### 5/5 — For anyone who has problems with a pc and doesn’t know how to use cmd use this app

### 5/5 — Great tool

This is a great tool for any IT professional to keep in the toolbox. Very convenient to be able to view while at user desk instead of hunting for the info online.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — I don’t understand

*2026-07-19*

I don’t get this app; it doesn’t tell you much. It doesn’t show how to use the command. 4.3 rating: it’s a terrible reference guide.

### 1/5 — Not for beginners

*2025-01-02*

This is a list not a dictionary. Use google Ai to create a list then copy paste and save as a word or excel file, this is worthless.

### 1/5 — Ads in the way..

*2019-11-26, version 5.4*

Low quality app

### 1/5 — Yeurk

*2019-04-20, version 5.4*

Yeurk🤡

### 1/5 — Not even worth $0.99.

*2018-12-18*

I really wish I had taken a closer look at this app before making the purchase. What I did see was adequate for my needs, but when I started digging into it deeper and finding blank pages with just a brief description of the particular command. I am going to ask for a refund not that I can’t afford 99 cents , but more for the principal of selling an incomplete app. Caveat Emptor!

**Developer response:** Hi, CmdRef is free and the only paid upgrade is to remove ads. We are very sorry you’ve had an unpleasant experience. Please contact us directly by email if you would like to to provide specific feedback to help improve CmdRef. Thank you.

### 1/5 — Not working

### 1/5 — Not for iPhone

*2017-02-23, version 5.2.3*

This app does not work on iPhones. It says compatible but it's not.

### 1/5 — HATE IT

*2016-04-21, version 5.1.5*

I HATE IT I FEEL THAT YOU RIPPED ME OFF IT HAS SAID THAT U MAY TYPE COMMANDS -Daniel Smith, United Kingdom >:(

### 2/5 — Problems

*2019-03-03*

Was this made for cmd?? Cuz almost none of them work when I use cmd

**Developer response:** Hi,

Please bear in mind that command compatibility is heavily dependent on your version of Command Prompt. Each Windows version ships with slightly different comparability. CmdRef contains commands for Windows <2000 through windows 10, therefore some commands will not work on every OS.

Thank you

### 2/5 — Not Comprehensive

*2015-12-08, version 5.1.4*

This is merely a menu to navigate to different screen shots of the /? output of any command. Some screenshots (such as the screenshot for the FOR command) are cut off and don't even show all the information. All in all, I feel that although the interface is clean, and the search function aids in finding the command you are looking for, the creator could have taken the time to copy the full output of the /? parameter.

### 5/5 — Initial impression

*2024-05-28*

So I haven’t personally tried out any of the commands in this app yet that are not displayed when typing in help in cmd prompt, but on first glance, taking a look and grouch some of the mentioned above commands(the ones I haven’t yet tried), I’d say I really really like this app. Appears it can be a very useful tool, and very helpful. That is my thoughts on it, I will be trying them out later today to see how useful they may actually be or not infect be.
One thing of the top I’d love to suggest the developers, or request, rather; is a favorite(s) button/feature. Overall very much looking forward to utilizing this to my advantage thank you kindly I love it

### 5/5 — Fanominal

*2024-05-24, version 5.5.4*

I have been using CMDRef for some time now. I think it is a good app. I think it should show more images of what the code does other than that. I think that the application is fine. It works and it’s good for shorthand commands or commandments.Thank You <3

### 5/5 — Very Useful reference

*2024-03-25*

This app is a useful reference on many commands. The app is fully functional except for ads with a nominal fee to remove them. Would be helpful if could mark favorites and a note area within each command for tech notes or additions, but other than that, thank you to the developer.
