I only came to CMG because my mortgage was sold to them to manage, so far the online payment site feels like it’s out of 1999, and the app doesn’t even have the bare minimum functions of what the co Lang does, service existing mortgages. Downloaded their app shortly after and after a few days I messaged my agent for any timing updates because I am new to this process. The next day she messaged back saying that she would have it done that day and I haven’t heard anything! It has been 2 weeks now! No communication and I decided to apply with this company because of their great customer service reviews. Automatic redirect on Chrome or Safari and can’t continue filling out application unless I download the app. The App just says call support. Unlike every other lender app I have used (PENNYMAC, Mr. Cooper, MyFairwayServices, and Cornerstone), I cannot use the CMG app to manage the existing loan or make payments on it. Worthless app for my purposes. ### 1/5 — Disappointed *2022-12-01, version 22.11.001* Make an app that actually lets you manage your loan after it closes!! ### 1/5 — Drains battery for no reason *2022-02-02, version 21.11.000* Had to uninstall ### 1/5 — Customer Service Program Needs Improvement *2021-12-06, version 21.11.000* Short version: you can’t set up payments in the mobile app. The mobile app can be deleted after closing on your home, as the web portal is the only way to make payments, Long version: I’m not set up on autopay. My app does not reflect my current loan. I called to fix both of those things. For autopay, if you’re overdue, you need to make the current payment manually, let that process, then you should be able to set it up online later. Not an issue. For an app that doesn’t reflect your current loan, they need to improve the process. I called 888-262-0450 (number for autopay help), and they forwarded me to the app guy. I didn’t catch the number. The app guy almost immediately dismissively said he wasn’t the right person to help. He forwarded me to 888 341 3882. This is an internal employee Helpdesk, so he also couldn’t do anything for me. He forwarded me to an customer care line by extension number 835699. Eventually, the call just disconnected while waiting for a response. 40+ minutes into this endeavor. I recalled the original number 888-262-0450 to follow the steps again and record the first forwarding number. The Helpdesk rep wanted to forward me to 888 262 0450. Obviously this wasn’t right. I restated the need, and she forwarded me to 609 659 1513, the web and apps helpline. After answering, I realized the right question to ask. Can I pay my loan through the CMG financial app? NO. It’s a worthless app after they’ve already secured your loan. That is frustrating, because they don’t make that clear. All in all, over an hour wasted. VERY disappointing customer service. Repeatedly asked for confirmation of who I was at every stage. Repeatedly didn’t get forwarded to the right person. Employees didn’t seem to understand that the app wasn’t where I could make payments, because nobody mentioned this. ### 1/5 — Useless *2021-07-11, version 21.4.000* Local agent’s business card linked to this app. I downloaded it and used it to upload ALL of the necessary documents. Couple weeks later, the agent asked me for all the same docs. I told her they were uploaded to the app. She said that was a black hole—they don’t use it. Since then, the app has been delivering nonsensical notifications concerning the progress of our mortgage application. Scott is amazing we’ve now utilized his services for 3 separate closings personally and have referred him to friends that also closed with him. There are a lot of bad review about not being able to access your current mortgage but that’s not what this app is for. It’s for applying, checking the status of your loan in process, and using the loan calculators! ### 4/5 — Overall good app but... *2024-09-20, version 24.7.002* Overall good app but is laggy. There also needs an update to the additional income fields. The employment income field clearly states to add in GROSS income, while the additional income simply states to add monthly income.
