Luckily I did a screenshot but it doesn’t have the code on there so I’m looking forward to having a linking conversation at the ticket counter when I get there for the showing thanks a lot CMX maybe next time I’ll go to another movie theater like regal or AMC travel a little bit further for that one. ### 2/5 — App not accurate *2025-11-22, version 1.2.21* I’ve used the app and it worked perfectly and I’ve used the app and the movies and/or movie times are not accurate. ### 2/5 — App and Website Issues *2025-11-22, version 1.2.21* This app website never worked properly. The app doesn’t show your rewards but will take you to the privacy page. Half the time I can’t access my passport account, or rewards account. It make it incredibly frustrating especially when you pay for a subscription and can’t even use it sometimes. CMX needs to be bought by AMC or a big nationwide chain. There’s a lot more I could say about CMX and how the theatres are managed but that has nothing to do with the app so I will leave that there. I choose the seats but the “Who’s sitting in _?” doesn’t change to the “Continue” button. It lets me pick my seats, but it won’t move past that screen to complete the transaction. I’ve tried restarting the app and even reinstalling it, but the issue still happens every time. This is my go-to app for movies, but now it’s really frustrating not being able to finish a simple ticket purchase. Showtimes, tickets, seat selections, theater locator, etc all the major feature are really slow. It typically takes more than a minute to view showtimes for any movie and up to 5 minutes to choose seats. It's not the first time it happens to me and I already feel ripped off. ### 1/5 — A Frustrating Experience from Start to Finish *2025-07-11, version 1.2.19* The CMX app is one of the most frustrating movie-going tools I’ve used. Credit card transactions frequently fail, seat selection often doesn’t work, and the app runs painfully slow. It regularly displays irrelevant theaters far outside your area, making it far too easy to accidentally book at the wrong location. Adding to the headache: it doesn’t integrate with Apple Wallet, so when you arrive at the theater, you’re stuck digging through the sluggish app just to show your ticket. It also doesn’t sync your movie to your calendar—basic functionality that every other ticketing app seems to get right. Worst of all? Tickets are often more expensive through the CMX app than on third-party sites like Fandango. There’s absolutely no reason to use it in its current state. Unacceptable. ### 2/5 — Passport Never Works *2025-07-10, version 1.2.19* While the app is relatively easy to use it never works properly for the Passport. Which unfortunately can only ever be used via the app and not in person. There are countless times i have to delete & reinstall the app for the chance of it to maybe work and load my Passport credits. ### 1/5 — Scam *2025-06-29, version 1.2.19* Hasn’t worked in months. Can’t access already paid for tickets and all attempts to communicate with them is off. Called local theater and they claim to have never heard of this. Crazy cause I have used it so many times before. Can’t even cancel membership as the passport part of the app is disabled ### 1/5 — Unreliable *2025-06-21, version 1.2.19* This app is so unreliable sometimes I can log into my passport and other times, I cannot I have to actually buy a ticket and I have a monthly pass that I pay for so discouraged with this app and nobody from the company will contact me to help me get it fixed ### 1/5 — Passport doesn’t work *2025-06-19, version 1.2.19* Every time when I want to use my pass, the passport program would be unavailable due to improvement, and I can’t see my pass while they claim it’s only affecting new users. I have to try so many times throughout the day just to use my pass. Does not save points after purchase. Always reverts back to zero points. No way to use free tickets, app just says one free ticket with no code or place to use it. New month and I should technically have 2 free tickets but nope still says 1. Took a perfectly reasonable working app and updated it with possibly the worst app I’ve ever used. This is the definition of if it ain’t broke don’t fix it smh. Rotten Tomato Boooooo ### 1/5 — After the update it’s been HORRIBLE *2026-04-14, version 2.0.0* It al started when I tried logging into my account and apparently I had to create a new one and loose all of my points. I did it, been to the movies several times after the update and I haven’t gotten any points. I was considering joining the membership but honestly after this horrible service I don’t even know if the membership will work, as a long time customer of CMX this is very disappointing and upsetting. Also each time I log in it logs me out when I go back in. ### 1/5 — Just awful *2026-04-10, version 2.0.0* I bought a gift card as a Christmas present in December. I just tried to use to go to the Cinebistro to see Project Hail Mary and was told that CMX has changed their computer system and those gift cards don’t work. The theater said it was a corporate problem and they could not honor it or give me my money back. The manager took my information and said a new card would be mailed to me. That was two weeks ago and just crickets. I can’t believe what an amateurish operation. Now I’m going to have to go back to the theater (they don’t answer phones) and argue to get my gift card or money back. By then i will have wasted three hours trying to use my gift card. ### 1/5 — Update Terrible *2026-03-15, version 2.0.0* The update is horrible! Previously it was easier to tell the seats we’re together now you need to count. It’s trash! I can’t log on to my account. I know my email is correct for the log in because they always send me some promotional emails. My password is saved on my iPhone and I haven’t changed it. When I go to reset my password the app or website never sends me a link to reset. It’s incredibly frustrating and I don’t want to loose out on the tickets and points I already accumulated. Also, I tried to email corporate on the contact us page no reply. ### 1/5 — Going downhill for a while now *2025-12-22, version 2.0.0* This app used to work well and the rewards made this my go to theater choice. Not so much anymore. They stopped updating upcoming showtimes for my area in a timely manner, it became very difficult to plan movies trips to CMX ahead for the following week. AND NOW… they completely redid their app and I had to sign up with a fresh account and I’ve lost all of the reward points I’d accumulated over the past 6 years. ### 1/5 — Logged me out, now can’t login *2025-12-09, version 2.0.0* I tried logging in and it wouldn’t let me so i tried resetting my password, it doesn’t send the email with the code, checked spam and everything, nada ### 1/5 — UI Change *2025-12-07, version 2.0.0* The user interface in this app is horrendous. I don’t know why they changed it. You can’t even save your ticket to your wallet anymore. I literally lost my account in my points. They’re lucky I don’t have a local AMC.
