## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 10.0 — 2026-08-17

Scientific Machinist Calculator (free)
Right-triangle solver, bolt hole circle, sine bar/plate, taper calculator, thread math, chip load/MRR, cutting power & torque, surface finish predictor, unit converter, and a scientific keypad calculator.
Control Panel Library — 4 → 8 controllers
Added Okuma OSP, Heidenhain TNC, Mitsubishi Meldas, Centroid. All 8 now have authentic per-brand button sets and a round, draggable jog handwheel with axis/multiplier controls.
 Workholding Selector — much deeper
13 part shapes, 23 fixture types, and a real scoring engine that ranks the best fixture for the job instead of hard-coded rules.
CAD/CAM Studio — the big one, built in stages
Foundation: Sketch a part (parametric shapes or freehand drawing), generate real toolpaths (milling: profile/pocket/drill/facing/slot/engrave; turning: facing/OD-ID/groove/thread/part), preview in 3D, and export G-code posted correctly for all 8 controllers — including genuinely different Siemens and Heidenhain syntax, not just relabeled Fanuc code.
Toolpath quality pass: True G2/G3 arcs (not tessellated lines), pocket islands, a full A–Z engraving font, tangential helical lead-in/out arcs, ramping pocket entry, and an adaptive-style spiral clearing option.
Solid modeling: Extrude (boss) and Extrude Cut (real material removal — bridged into the stock as an actual hole with a floor plug, not just an overlapping shape) for both parametric and freehand sketches.
Latest round — four upgrades at once:
Save/Load + Undo/Redo — projects persist to disk now; nothing resets when you leave the screen
Complete solid preview — turning gets a real revolve solid, and drilled holes now carve into the part like sketch cuts do
Production tools — cycle time estimate, a reusable tool library, auto-suggested feeds/speeds
Toolpath playback — scrub through the cut with a moving tool marker

### 9.0 — 2026-08-07

Scientific Machinist Calculator (free)
A new calculator suite: right-triangle solver, bolt hole circle, sine bar/plate, taper calculator, thread math (TPI⇄pitch, tap drill %, 3-wire), chip load/MRR, cutting power & torque, surface finish predictor, a full unit converter, and a scientific keypad calculator.
Control Panel Library — 4 → 8 controllers
Added Okuma OSP, Heidenhain TNC, Mitsubishi Meldas, and Centroid. The original 4 (Fanuc, Haas, Siemens, Mazak) got rebuilt with authentic per-brand button sets instead of sharing one generic layout. Every controller now has a round, draggable jog handwheel with axis selector and ×1/×10/×100 multiplier.
 Workholding Selector — much deeper
Part shapes: 5 → 13. Fixture types: 11 → 23 (vacuum chuck, expanding mandrel, faceplate, modular fixturing, collet block, angle plate, sine plate, subplate tooling, adhesive mounting, strap clamps, steady rest, power chuck). The matching logic is now a real scoring engine instead of hard-coded rules.
CAD/CAM Studio — brand new, biggest addition
Design a part right on the phone and generate real G-code:
Sketch — parametric shapes (rectangle/circle/slot/polygon) or freehand tap-to-draw
Operations — milling (profile, pocket, drilling, facing, slotting, engraving) and turning (facing, OD/ID profile, grooving, threading, parting)
3D toolpath preview — rapid moves in red, cutting moves in green
G-code output — posts to all 8 controllers, with real dialect differences for Siemens and Heidenhain, not just relabeled Fanuc code

### 8.0 — 2026-08-05

New: Scientific Machinist Calculator (free)
A brand-new suite with 10 calculators:
Right Triangle Solver, Bolt Hole Circle, Sine Bar/Sine Plate, Taper Calculator
Thread Math (TPI⇄pitch, pitch diameter, tap drill %, 3-wire measurement)
Chip Load & MRR (with chip-thinning compensation)
Cutting Power & Torque, Surface Finish (Ra) Predictor
Full machinist Unit Converter, Scientific keypad Calculator
Control Panel Library — expanded from 4 to 8 controllers
Added: Okuma OSP, Heidenhain TNC, Mitsubishi Meldas, Centroid
Existing 4 rebuilt (Fanuc, Haas, Siemens, Mazak) — each now has its own authentic button set and visual layout instead of sharing one generic panel
Every controller now includes a round, draggable jog handwheel (MPG) with axis selector (X/Y/Z) and increment multiplier (×1/×10/×100), like the real physical dial
Workholding Selector — much deeper
Part shapes: 5 → 13 (added tube, stepped, tapered, spherical, extrusion, large flat panel, fragile/delicate, large weldment)
Fixture types: 11 → 23 (added vacuum chuck, expanding mandrel, faceplate, modular ball-lock fixturing, 5C collet block, angle plate, sine plate, subplate/pallet tooling, adhesive/wax mounting, strap clamps, steady rest, pneumatic power chuck)
Recommendation logic rebuilt as a proper scoring engine instead of hard-coded branches, so it actually reasons across every shape × fixture combination
