The detailed forecast isn’t very detailed either. Please make this better. Also make alerts more customizable for iPhone users ### 4/5 — Great, but one things missing *2026-08-21, version 1.7* I love the app layout, and it presents the information perfectly. The only issue is that I wish I could toggle between the actual temperature and the real feel on the Home Screen. It seems like only real feel is displayed. My personal preference is to see the actual temperature first. Other than that, I’m a huge fan. ### 4/5 — Needs some more work *2026-08-21, version 1.7* 8/21 update- They fixed the push notifications which addresses what was originally a big oversight during the launch. Hopefully home screen/lock screen widgets are on their way as well. Have updated the rating by 1 star to reflect the improvement already. Let me start by saying I love the app and am willing to make it the daily weather app but it’s needs some more work before that happens. Notifications do not work at all. They advertise in the App Store photos that it gives push notifications for storms but after 2 severe storms in the northeast here, not a single notification. If the NWS issues a watch/warning, you don’t get a notification for those either. Also wish they would work on including lightning strike/detection for the radar because it’s a nice safety feature to have in a weather app in my opinion. It’s a beautiful weather app all around and their effort to provide stories on why the weather will be a certain way in areas of the country is amazing. As they continue to update, they’ll quickly become a powerhouse of an app. ### 4/5 — It’s good! *2026-08-19, version 1.7* It’s a GREAT app, although one minor change, you should also make it fit for tablets and not just phones. ### 2/5 — No widget? *2026-08-15, version 1.7* The Arkansas seems like it’s decent. Nothing blows my mind. The only reason for the low rating is because it doesn’t even have a widget for my home screen. Not just app vs what happens that day, but the app itself is inconsistent. It shows Sunday 99% chance of rain in the summary. When you go into the detailed forecast, it shows you hour by hour for the next two days. Would be nice to have an option to view the full day and night like the rest of the week. Also in detailed mode, would be helpful to see weather icons along the top, so you don’t have to tap into each day to see what the weather will be. ### 4/5 — Excellent start. The display of information on my iPad is useless, the window on my screen is too small and doesn’t fill the full screen (why make the display look like a phone screen, it’s not a phone). What is the point anyway, there are apps that do weather just fine. Probably an effort by the new hard-right ownership to collect data on people. Just another evil nepobaby toy. Update: gets worse every day. ### 1/5 — App is for tracking you *2026-05-21, version 1.1* I was excited to try the new CNN Weather app. I have all of my apps set to ‘share location only when using’ because I don’t want to be tracked all the time. The CNN Weather App has pop ups on the iPhone asking me to change the ‘location sharing to always’. Even when I am not using the app I get popups asking me to change location data. Every two hours my iPhone will stop working until I answer either keep sharing settings as is or allow sharing all the time. I had to delete the app just to use my iPhone. ### 1/5 — Does not work! *2026-05-20, version 1.1* Downloaded and crashed upon opening. Rebooted phone and still crashed. It's like I had a vision in my own head but didn't think it was possible until I downloaded this after being surprised that CNN had a weather app. It's so gorgeous and thoughtfully crafted and just so pure and simple and elegant. And the little weather news rectangles are a nice well-integrated touch too. Very very satisfied with this app. Highly polished and beautiful design. In June we drove from Duluth, MN, to Fort Collins, CO and were able to take state highways north of I 80 and avoid golf ball sized hail. I also use it at home to plan bike rides. I’m not even a big fan of the CNN network overall, but I have to give credit where it’s due — you guys nailed the weather app. The CNN Weather team is great and clearly knows what they’re doing. It’s become my go-to app for checking conditions and forecasts. My only real wish is that you’d release a dedicated iPad app (or at least better optimize it for the bigger screen). That would make it perfect. Overall, it’s a fantastic app. Highly recommend!
